Some of the best wakeboarding, waterskiing and fishing on Lake Gaston is directly in front of the boat house. This perfect lake cottage is located in the Riverbend subdivision, on Lyons Creek Cove. Enjoy long walks in the neighborhood and some of the best waterfront on Lake Gaston. Deep water off the dock is perfect for the big kids and water sports. Shallow water near shore is perfect for the smaller kids. Everyone will enjoy spending their day relaxing at one of the nicest boat houses on the lake. The lake house is ideal for families and for sharing with friends. All 4 bedrooms are exactly the same size. Enjoy beautiful sunrises on the lake from your bed in either of the 2 lake front bedrooms which boast awesome views of the lake. 16x40 great room and 2 lakeside bedrooms open to screen porch. Ultimate Lake House for enjoying the lake: Enjoy quiet, glassy water all day long. Paddle our canoe further into the cove for fishing, hunting and birdwatching. Enjoy long walks through the beautiful Riverbend subdivision. The Waterview restaurant and the Morning Star Marina are just a short boat ride away. Private, gentle wooded lot. We will miss the screened porch and the dock area! The house is casual and functional. Big kitchen table, comfortable beds. House has a bit of a musty funk — we used some air freshener and kept the windows open. The canoes were awesome for exploring the lake and for fishing!

Hosts were great and house was nice for a getaway. Loved the dock and just hanging out. Caught quite a few fish and had a visit from a turtle

We are a a retired couple and we stayed in this house with good friends with whom we have traveled extensively. The house worked wonderfully well for us. Each side of the main living space has two bedrooms and a bath so each couple had their own side of the house, offering maximum privacy. Another significant advantage is the gentle slope down to the water. Many lake front homes have steep steps to waterfront but this was a short easy walk. We enjoyed the large screened porch which faces the lake and ate many meals there. The owner was easy to work with and answered all inquires immediately.

We’ve come here for the last 5 years and will continue , if the house is available. Beautiful weather, swimming everyday, on the water in the canoe we went for miles. Cookouts on the grill. We brought everything we needed and never had to leave all week. Sad to say that time goes by too fast! We could live there year round. See you next season.

Our family had a wonderful vacation over Labor Day weekend and into the next week. The home is on a quiet and beautiful stretch of Lake Gaston and within a short boat ride of 2 great restaurants. The kitchen table was beautiful and huge and easily held 10 people for meals. The boat house/dock we’re amazing and was everyone’s favorite place to hang out. Lots of shade all over the property and on the dock. The house is lovely and set up perfectly for up to 10 people. Thank you for a wonderful week!

Pros: The cottage was a great layout for traveling with family. Two bedrooms with a shared bath on opposite sides of the house with pocket doors in the halls leading to a large common area with plenty of space. The bunk room worked for the kids. The cove was quiet and deep enough for swimming and boating. We enjoyed using the canoes to explore and fish. The dock is plenty roomy for everyone. We spent a lot of time on the enormous screened in porch and used the large firepit several times for a bonfire and s'mores. Not too far of a boat ride from restaurants and the marina, but plan to drive 20 minutes for groceries, coffee, etc. Quiet neighborhood with nice walking trail along the road just past the house.
Cons: If anyone in your party has mobility issues, there are quite a few large rocks and roots throughout the driveway and path to the lake that make it tough to travel safely. There is no walk-in access to the lake as suggested in listing. Also, the listing says there are 3 queen beds. They are doubles and the rooms are very musty. My son woke up with allergy issues. The pictures show a full-sized fridge at the dock and comfy couch which aren't there. A minifridge by the water was all we needed though. The kitchen is very lightly stocked for a location as remote as Gaston, where you can plan to cook most meals. Could use a pancake griddle, updated blender, crockpot and more cooking utensils.

Family summer vacation
Perfect simple lake house. Great location on the cove with a very nice dock and swimmable water. The shallow area I wouldn’t consider for anyone to use as it’s very rocky and the mud is clay based. We were able to get on our stand up ski from there but otherwise wouldn’t have used it. Seeing the fish and dragonflies from that location was great and our daughter thoroughly enjoyed it. The living area could use an upgrade on the furniture and the kitchen as well for cookware.

Great Location!
We have stayed at this property several times. Nothing fancy, but is a great LKG property with good location, great boathouse and nice quiet cove. Highly recommend!

My wife had to clean bathrooms , also stovetop needed cleaning. Boat dock area was not cleaned up it was full of cob webs was not as appealing as shown in pictures. the outdoor landscape was not kept up sticks and tree limbs laying all over walkways outdoor shower was loaded with spider webs, sticks, and tree debris we were looking forward to using that ! Besides that the lake is awesome and the location.

Bathrooms were not cleaned proper found hair in tubs ,moldy shower curtains my wife had to clean

Affordable Family Getaway
The lake house was just right for our family to share
Loved the screeed in porch complete with rocking chairs & swing. We enjoyed the fire pit and left some wood for the next vacationers. Paddle boat & canoes were a bonus!

We have enjoyed ourselves once again this makes it 4 years in a row we will be back next year hopefully the same time frame , paddled out to the bridge with the canoe no wind that day , caught a 12 lb catfish off the dock had fires each night definitely enjoyed everything about it

Great Vacation!!
We had a great time celebrating the end of summer and my retirement with family at this lake home! It was clean and fully stocked. We sure enjoyed the large screened porch, fire pit, dock, canoe and paddle boat. The owner quickly responded to all of our questions during and after the booking process. The week at this property was truly relaxing. We very much enjoyed sitting on the back covered patio; we could enjoy the lake view without bugs. We spent a fair amount of time at the boathouse as well, floating in the lake as well as using the hosts supplied kayak and paddle boat. Just down from the house is a majestic cove with water lilies galore.
The house had plenty of room for multi families as it was dual winged, with a double vanity sink full bath and 4 bedrooms one with double bed

We enjoyed this property to the max, especially the boat dock. We brought our fishing Pontoon so it was perfect. We fished off the dock and we all loved swimming and jumping there too. The screened in porch was lovely and the Foosball table was fun. They have a private boat ramp where we loaded and unloaded the boat right up the street made everything so easy. We definitely look forward to staying here again.

Happiness at the Lake
The home was very nice, what we expected . The layout of the home was perfectly balanced, 2 rooms and a bath on the left and the same on the right. The kitchen had a large style picnic table which could accommodate everyone. The kitchen appliances were all modern. The outside screened in porch was great to sit on during the day and evening. The highlight for me personally was the dock and boat house. I would spend my earlier morning having a cup of coffee , watching the sun raise and the fish jumping. We would book this again if time allows us to in the future. Gray was very response and helpful prior and during our arrival. You could not ask for a better host . Our Entire Family ( some from different states ( Co, CA, VA) as well as Rep Panama had Fun, relaxed and enjoyed their stay
