Patrizia’s home provided the perfect spot for our family of 7 to use as a home base to visit Lucca and nearby family. Patrizia was a delight and so accommodating! Thank you so much Patrizia!❤️

The accommodations were everything we expected. Three bedrooms and three bathrooms for three couples made this location ideal. It’s a bit of a walk to the walled city (20 minutes), but a bus goes to the walled tourist area from 1 block away and you can call a cab if you don’t feel like walking. Grocery store, phone store for SIM Card, and fruit store are all nearby. It was absolutely perfect for us. Guilia was accommodating and met us when we arrived. Stairs to second and third level were not an issue for us at all.

Patrizia was wonderful...very quick to respond and very helpful. The house was well-equipped. While it was not within Lucca walls, it was a very easy walk into town. The house had screens on the windows which was a big plus in Italy. We were there for 4 weeks so I made good use of the washer and dryer although I usually hung the clothes to dry. I liked the extra room for drying and ironing. At times, the WiFi was a bit unreliable but mostly worked well.

My family and I spent 6 weeks touring Europe and used VRBO properties everywhere. This was the worst one we have ever rented. The stairs are quite dangerous.
They are steep and dark, the worst part is the light turns off automatically while going up them, when I questioned that, she said you can turn the light back on. Well my parents are in their 80s and one misstep on a dark stair could be a disaster. The pictures do not accurately depict the home. Even the one above is so misleading. It is not bright and airy. It is dark and dingy and smelled moldy. There are bars on the windows. It is a a horrible neighborhood, lots of dust and trash in the alley next door. There is no outdoor area at all. It is not close to nice restaurants. The air conditioners are anemic at best and we were told to turn them off if we weren't in the room. How do they expect it to stay even the littlest cool. We left without packing our bags. We took one of the keys with us in case we couldn't find anywhere else to stay. We did find a new place and I asked for a refund as the place was not at all as advertised and with the mold smell and stairs it was not a safe environment. She was very rude and said no way. In full disclosure I didn't get around to returning the key and of course did not fight her keeping the key deposit . Also be warned you will need to sign your life away on waivers, she had waivers I had never seen before in all my years of using VRBO.

The house was just like advertised
Patrizia and Andrea were the perfect hosts.
They provided us with all the useful information such as places to see and recommended restaurants.
We had a problem with the dryer and Andrea replaced it immediately.
I would recommend this house to anyone visiting Lucca

This is a great location to explore Lucca and the rest of Tuscany. The house is clean, beds are comfortable and there is plenty of space. The location is quiet and within walking distance to several cafes and restaurants. We enjoyed riding the bikes into Lucca and along the wall. Another bonus is the parking right in front of the property. We would definitely stay here again!

Lovely and clean and very well stocked. We were able to walk to the walled city of Lucca in 15 minutes and also to the car rental to pick up our car for the second half of our trip to Sienna. The supermarket was also very close . We also used the house bikes to ride the wall in Lucca. Really enjoyed staying here.

Nice home properly fitted and in real good condition. Sad the location, as more out of the historical center than announced (1,2km), in a suburban environment. Bicycles were not all usable (brakes issues). Do not forget neither garden nor terasse if you visit Lucca during the spring/summer/fall: in March this was not an issue and we were informed

We had a happy week here in April 2023 as a good base for exploring Lucca and the surrounding area. The property was clean and well maintained, they provide bikes for getting around and we slept well. Patrizia was a friendly and welcoming hostess.

Lucca holiday.
Patrizia is a great host and very helpful. Kept in touch with us to make sure we had what we needed. The home is very spacious, well kept and remodeled. Large rooms and 3 baths. Excellent location, our family does not mind to walk and found the 15 to 20 minutes walk to the historic centre of Lucca an easy walk. Location is good, close to highway and good access to visit surrounding cities like Pisa, and Florence. Overall a very good 5 night stay.

Beautiful base in Tuscany
The house is spacious, close to the Lucca wall and in a beautiful neighborhood. The kitchen is well stocked with all the useful cookware for a family that wants to cook. The washing machine was great. Great communication with the property owner and overall a perfect home base for a longer vacation in and around Lucca.

We used this location as the hub for meeting up with two other couples (and one car) to explore the areas of Lucca, Cinque Terre, Pisa and Florence using mostly the trains. Can’t say enough about the cost and ease of traveling by train compared to car rental but it was nice to have one for the distance from the house to the walled city. A bit of traffic noise and busy commute route most days. Also It was a much further walk than we had hoped but there are some bikes there and a bus for €2.50 one way when your legs get tired. Not a great area for eating out (on foot) but great selection of grocery stores very close by. We prepared a lot of simple meals and found the kitchen well supplied for that. Especially loved the Lavazza espresso machine and full-sized coffee drip machine in the mornings with six adults! Comfortable beds, clean washrooms, plenty of towels and blankets and very good communication with owners and management. I would suggest a tune up of the bikes as one had no brakes left and another no steering. But a good house, attractive and well situated for a Tuscany tour home base.

Outstanding!!
The 8 of us had a great time! The house was clean, cool and comfortable!! A relaxing place to come home to each night! We weren’t aware that all bedrooms are either on the 2nd or 3rd floor but we were able to manage!
Thank you Patrizia and Guiana for a great stay and all of your help!!

Wonderful stay in Lucca
My family of 5 enjoyed our 6-night stay at this beautiful home in Lucca. Each of the kids was able to have their own bedroom, which was a nice change from the hotels where we stayed during the rest of our vacation. The grocery store was very convenient and the kitchen was well-stocked, even though we ended up not cooking as much as we'd thought. Having both a washer AND dryer was great so that we could do some much needed laundry. We really appreciated the use of the bikes to ride into Lucca and around the walls. Parking was great for the first 4 nights but then someone came along and parked in front of the house the last two nights. We were able to find parking in the free parking lot just a short walk away so it wasn't a problem. We took the train in to Florence two days, drove to Pisa one morning, drove to Volterra another day and La Spezia/Cinque Terre another day. The location is very convenient to the train station and the Autostrade so it made a really nice home base. We loved Lucca and would love to return!

Nicely restored/renovated, all the amenities we needed
Patrizia was a wonderful host. She and her assistant, Mr. Iacopo, met us at the house upon arrival and gave us a very thorough walkthrough of the entire house and gave us directions to all of the parking at the wall as well as a “map” of the restaurants and groceries within walking distance. There were also four very nice bicycles to use - a great way to get around the city. An enjoyable week at the house. We liked being just far enough from the center city walls to be away from all the tourists, but close enough to walk (less than a mile) or drive in 5 minutes and park at the wall. The bathrooms were wonderfully done, as was the kitchen. The only thing I would recommend adding to the house is more lighting for reading ( larger lamps in the bedrooms and another floor lamp in the living room) and putting a larger skylight in the one dark bedroom.
We would absolutely return to Lucca and this house in the future.

Good comfortable house
All facilities good- beds comfortable, showers work, kitchen good. Only slight downside is that car parking is on-street and unreserved. Not a problem in practice.

Not recommended for patrons with limited mobility. Bedroom nicely appointed comfortable beds and good A/C
Kitchen well equipped.
Problem is the presence of mildew and mold on the first floor, coming from the laundry room. Odor and Stench would not go away in spite of cooking and baking often. But smell is not present on the upper floors.
Host was punctual to receive us and helpful with ample information about the location.

Great location! Incredible hosts!
Great space. Modern amenities. Lots of room. Wonderful hosts. Lucca is a great central location with easy day trips to Florence, Pisa, Forte dei Marmi and the historic city center is within walking distance. Many restaurants and grocery stores nearby. Also discovered Fattoria Al Dotto, a wonderful winery in the hills of Lucca (we visited twice!).

More of a house than an apartment with all of the amenities plus some!
A beautiful home with large beds and bathrooms! Plenty of space and some nice bonuses like a dishwasher, washer, dryer and bicycles. The owners are very kind and helpful. A place that I would definitely rent again when I go back to Lucca. Thank you Patrizia, Andrea and Luisa for a fantastic stay!

Charming old house with modern bathrooms.
We all enjoyed staying here in Lucca at this lovely, well-maintained home. Hostess and her assistance were so helpful making sure we had information about the area so we could quickly find grocery stores, ATMs, and access the very convenient bus into Lucca and the train station.
Location was convenient for day trips to Volterra, Pisa, Sienna, and Florence.

A lovely, fully equipped home. The location is excellent to experience all of Lucca and Tuscany!
Patrizia has created a beautiful home for spending a week or more to experience living in Lucca. With four bedrooms, a full kitchen, 3 bathrooms, laundry room, parking right outside the home, you just can't ask for a better place to stay for a weeklong or longer visit!

The house is extremely well organized and has as amenities that are published.
Perfect for or group of 10.

The house was lovely but no outdoor space. It was well located for going into the old city walls.
The bedrooms were spacious with plenty of drawers and wardrobes for hanging clothes. Three modern bathrooms with nice showers was a plus. We cooked several meals, and there were plenty of pots and pans, but we bought a sharp knife because the ones there were quite dull. Coffee maker was very small as were the wine glasses. The third floor bedrooms did not have WiFi. We made several excursions to other places, and the house was well located for getting to grocery stores and on the highway. Our hostess was gracious, but with limited English, so her daughter stepped in to help. We also had parking space included for two cars, a definite benefit. Some of our group enjoyed riding on the three bicycles available to us. I would highly recommend Anthea House as a good place to stay and ad a base to explore Tuscany.

Great location to stay for a good size group
Highly recommend the Anthea House. Excellent location has 3 bikes to use which is a huge plus. Kid friendly and close to a park. The best thing was how receptive our host was. They always were in contact with us and gave great recommendations. Can not say enough good things about this.

Fantastic
Had a fantastic stay in this beautiful house. The house is very quite and has all the things you need for a relaxing stay. Great communication throughout our visit and we would definitely stay here again, if we come back to Lucca. Very clean and the air con keeps the house lovely and cool in the high temperatures. 5 mins from the walled part of Lucca, 20 mins from the beach and 30 mins from Florence. Only wish we had stayed longer.

We fell in love with Lucca!
We spent a week in House Anthea and found it very comfortable, clean, and well-located: it is close to the freeway, three blocks from two big supermarkets, and less than a kilometer from the town center. It was fun to walk to the center of Lucca. We really enjoyed riding the bicycles around the town's walls because it gives you a different perspective of the town.
During the day, we visited different picturesque Tuscan towns around the region and it was always a pleasure to return at night to Casa Anthea to rest. Everything is new, clean, and functions perfectly. The hosts were very welcoming and available.
The house is on a quiet street with sufficient parking space. It was perfect for our family of five but could easily accommodate two families. We hope to return someday!
