Beautiful apartment on two levels in central Madrid. Placed in the neighborhood “Lavapiés -Embajadores” next to the famous 'Art Walk' where the Madrid's most important museums like the Museum of Prado, Reina Sofia and Thyssen Bornemisza. A few meters from the “Reina Sofía Museum”, the National Filmotheque 'Cine Doré' and the lively street Argumosa with summer terraces.The apartment is located in a quiet street, no bars, but with traditional shops and fresh food markets in a few meters. In this zone there are a lot of restaurants, coffe shops and tapas bars. This nice appartment is an ideal place to stay while visiting and enjoying Madrid from his heart and historic centre, walking along its streets, and places with cultural and touristic interest. Its privileged central location and good communication is perfect for walking around the center of Madrid. From here you can walk to the main touristic places: Retiro Park, Prado Museum, Gran Vía, Puerta del Sol, Plaza Mayor... ... It is also very easy to move from Magerit apartment by metro, there are three metro stations close by: Atocha, Anton Martin and Lavapiés. In case you are coming to Magerit apartment by car, there are also car parks around the area where to pay for hours or days. It is also ten minutes by foot from Atocha Station where it is placed the Airport Express bus stop that works 24 hours a day and connects the airport to Central Madrid. Sleeps up to 3 people. From the street through a barred security door directly enters into the living room whit high ceiling where there is a double sofa bed, a small desk, .... TV and other services like WIFI internet access.. The kitchen is independent but separated to the living room with a large open area but no door. In this area is the access to the fully equipped bathroom and the eight-step, wide and safe staircase that leads to the bedroom room which is spacious with two windows to the living room and a double bed ( Queen size 150 cm wide x 190/200 cm long ) . The apartment is equipped with electric heating, hot water and air conditioning ONLY IN THE SUMMER MONTHS . The kitchen is fully equipped with vitroceramic-plate, washing machine, microwave, refrigerator, toaster, coffee machine ........ and a complete set of kitchenware. A PERFECT ACCOMMODATION for travelers who are looking to discover and know the city of Madrid in a different way, feeling like at home and living like a local.

The apartment in Lavapiés was a perfectly wonderful place to stay, in part because of the friendly and very accommodating hostess. She was very flexible and helpful with our check in (as my son was moving across the city at the end of a study abroad program.). She also was quick to respond and even came over to help when I couldn't figure out the washing machine (LOL). The apartment itself was clean, tidy and well outfitted so that it was easy to cook a few meals. (The info sent ahead of time about local grocers and stores was so useful!). I loved the loft room and found the beds very comfortable. I hope to stay there again one day. Thanks for a wonderful visit!

The property was just as described and it was very cosy, comfortable and well equipped to suit all of our needs. The Apartment was located on a pleasant street and was within walking distance to all the main sights. We had a wonderful trip loved the museums, markets, Retiro park and concerts. Delicious food at the Plentiful cafe bars.

Elena and her mother Luisa are kind, generous, caring, interesting, fabulous people. The apartment is very comfortable. Special praise to the mattress and soft sheets. We had been traveling for 30 hours and were delirious. Luisa guided us to the apartment with patience and clarity. The location is fantastic for convenience and enjoyment. The hostess, Luisa, was very welcoming and met us promptly, making sure we could pull our car into the (restricted) street to unload our bags. The space is snug but adequate for 2. Looks just like the photos. A portable air conditioning unit kept the place cool in Madrid June heat. Plenty of hot water and shower pressure. Lively neighborhood with many dining options, but the apartment itself is on a quiet street so there was very little noise -- very welcome after 2 months traveling around Spain, which is noisy everywhere! One note, the washing machine is made for only very small loads. We made the mistake of putting everything in at once, did not spin out and we had to go to a laundromat and put everything through the dryer!

Located so conveniently to shops, restaurants, and transpiration, this lovely two story (loft bedroom was perfect for our six night stay in Madrid. The kitchen was fully equipped for cooking and small group entertaining. We were able to walk to Reina Sofia museum (10 minutes) as well as Prada and the Botanical gardens. We sampled a few restaurants in the neighborhood which were wonderful. We highly recommend this lovely apartment for your stay in Madrid.

This was my first solo, short-term rental (3 weeks) vacation and my experiences with the Madrid apartment and my host, Elena, were excellent. The cozy apartment is an easy walk from the main Atocha train and bus station in central Madrid (unless your iPhone map is not working and you get lost like I did. Happily, Elena patiently waited for me). It is in the bustling Lavapiés neighborhood, but on a quiet side street near a beautiful church. The apartment is within short walking distance (30 minutes or less) to most of the important cultural landmarks and museums, as well as many diverse restaurants and bars. (Not to worry, several metro stations are also near-by in case you prefer not to walk.) Elena is an experienced host and it shows. Her apartment is clean and well-furnished. The kitchen has everything a traveler might need for a very comfortable stay. Before I arrived, Elena was kind to organize her recommendations to enjoy the best that Madrid has to offer. As noted in the apartment description and other guests’ reviews, the loft bedroom is up a narrow set of stairs, so the apartment may not be the ideal choice for travelers with mobility issues. However, it was very nice to have the bedroom separate from the rest of the apartment’s living areas. Elena’s apartment was the perfect homebase from which to explore Madrid.

Perfectly located property with great access to Parque del Retiro, Museo Reina Sofia and other iconic places, landmarks. Quiet and relaxing but only steps to highly energetic areas of Madrid. Comfortable, very clean, with excellent attention to details. Host was incredibly gracious and attentive.

The apartment was conveniently located within walking distance to many places of interest. The kitchen was well equipped for a person who enjoys cooking. The host was readily available and responded to emails quickly. We enjoyed our stay.

We stayed for 1 week, which we don`t usually do but had decided to slack back a bit on this trip, we would have happily stayed longer. Ideal location for the big 3 museums / galleries, shops, restaurants and Atocha a short walk, there is everything on your doorstep and Elena and her mum respond quickly if you have a query. We made great use of the kitchen, even entertaining family twice, the bed is comfy, the lounge / kitchen layout works well and the windows open to allow a breeze. The shower is compact but very adequate even for a big bloke like me, we never used the washing machine. Fantastic, quirky pad with super hosts in a lively district. Thanks for making our stay that bit special.

This apartment is a well-crafted space in a row of 19th C buildings with wrought iron terracing guarding French windows. Situated along an invitingly narrow street, the flat is close to almost everything one would want to see in Madrid. We easily made a home here for 8 days including washing clothes and cooking meals. Everything about our 11 nights at this apartment was great! The property is tastefully decorated and the manager and her mother respond quickly and are thoughtful about guests--clothes rack & hangers, kitchen essentials, iron, helpful information.... The wifi was excellent; we did not use the TV. Bed was comfortable and there was space for small suitcases and to unpack clothes upstairs. The residential street is quiet (except at 11 pm when the trash/ recycling is picked up); you can hear swifts circling the local parish church nearby. It would not be easy to find parking in the area.
The location is amazing--short walks to the Metro & Atocha train station and less than a mile from Retiro Park and the Prado Museum. We took the Metro one stop to Sol and then walked 10-15 min on Calle Mayor to the Cathedral and Royal Palace. Atocha Station has a 24/7 bus shuttle (schedule posted) to the Madrid airport (5 euros in 2022). Carrefour at the Lavapies Metro stop was very convenient & reasonably priced for groceries.
Two fans & an open window kept the place cool but the air conditioner helped with high heat. We had some trouble with the washing machine but Luisa resolved the problem the next day. There is a small pullout rack to hang wet laundry in the bathroom but it took a long time for clothes to dry out.
As shown in the photos, there is a flight of stairs to the loft bedroom, a few to the kitchen and there's an uneven place under the rug. So if balance or stairs are an issue, this might not be the place for you. But we recommend this place and would use it again if we are blessed with another trip to Spain.

The apartment is located in a perfect location to walk to all of the places we wanted to see in Madrid. Communication was excellent and we enjoyed meeting Luisa as she met us at the apartment and explained everything the first day we arrived. We would most definitely stay here again!

Great Apartment
Elena was very responsive and helpful during our stay. The apartment was on a quiet street yet was only minutes away from transit, shopping, bars and restaurants. Great location to use as a base to see Madrid. The apartment was spacious, decorative and well designed. High ceiling in the living room. There was ample space to set up and open large suitcases in the bedroom.

Great location and plenty of space
We enjoyed our first visit to Spain (Madrid) from the US, and this apartment was a great size and location for our 3-adult family. It had everything we needed, was centrally located so we never went underground to use the subway, and was quiet and comfortable. Host was helpful and responsive at all times. Definitely recommend!

Beautiful, spotlessly clean flat in a great location
The flat is even cuter in real life than in the pictures. My son and I stayed for a long weekend and it was absolutely perfect. The kitchen had everything you could possibly need, including a bottle of wine and some cheese in the fridge, as well as tea and an electric kettle. There was an assortment of maps and helpful tourist information. I slept on the pull out couch which was comfortable and easy to use. The flat was convenient to three metro stops. There was an area full of restaurants and bars at the bottom of the street and around the corner. The museums were close. There is a great shop selling beautiful fruit at the top of the street and to the left, which fueled our breakfasts and days out exploring. The landlord was a pleasure to deal with and went out of her way to make our stay great. I will absolutely stay here again if I return to Madrid.

Elena’s apartment is not only warm and inviting, it is in the ideal location. It is tucked away on a quiet street but within walking distance to museums, parks, shops and restaurants. Lovely apartment, helpful host
We enjoyed our stay in the Madrid apartment so much! Even before we arrived, Elena sent us a good deal of helpful information about the neighbourhood and Madrid more generally, so we were able to plan our days, get groceries efficiently, and walk the best routes to the museums, palace, and other places. We found the apartment just lovely, comfortable, conveniently located, with a kitchen very well supplied with all the equipment one might need for a stay of a few days or longer. We would happily return on another visit to Madrid!

Extra touches; perfect location
Loved this place in Madrid. Elena was a great hostess and had all kinds of tips for us and lots of print resources. So nice to have someone who has thought of all the details. Instead of completely empty cupboards we found a pantry with spices, oils, vinegar etc which were so useful for cooking some meals at home. The place is small but well laid out and beautifully decorated. Bubbly and glasses and olives chilling in the fridge were a lovely welcome. We were walking distance to all the important sites and Retiro park. I would highly recommend this place!

Wonderful location, amazing apartment
Elena and Louisa contacted me even before the trip to make sure someone was there right when we arrived to greet us. She left us champagne for our honeymoon, so many useful information booklets, great recommendations, and instructions for everything in the apartment. The apartment is in a great location, close to almost everything!!! Right off a Main Street so mostly pedestrians walk there. If we go back to Madrid, we would definitely stay here!!!

This apartment is amazing. I love the decor and it has everything you will need for your stay. It's location is ideal. It's within walking distance to many popular sites and to Atocha station. It's also a very "artsy" part of town; many museums, art studios, dance studios, music conservatory. I loved it here and the owners are very attentive to your needs and extremely friendly. I want to go back!!!

Perfect location!
This apartment is the perfect location to enjoy a stay in Madrid. It's on a quiet street (which matters in a city with a late late night scene), but just a few blocks from everything you want to see. Down the hill is the eclectic lavapies neighborhood, up the hill to hipster Anton Martin, 2 blocks from the amazing Reina Sofia and just a few more to Prado. Three metro options with a 5 minute walk! The apartment itself is quiet and cozy with natural light and a smart set up for a small space. Host are helpful and accessible if you need anything. Highly recommend!

Cozy, convenient, well equipped, character.
The apartment is nicely accessed from the airport via Atoche train station, thanks to excellent guidance from Elena. Being close to Atoche made for convenient travel onward, too. The Reine Sofia museum is a five minute walk away, and the other museums are within easy walking. Our plan to use the Metro was unnecessary as we walked everywhere. The apartment is small but it had everything needed for our four night stay in Madrid; probably we should have used the air conditioner as it was rather hot and stuffy. The street is off the beaten track but very close to main streets with an abundance of cafes and shops to choose from. In the fridge we found wine and ice cream treats, and a box of candy on the desk- a sweet touch in a vacation rental. Our contacts with Elena from original inquiry to departure from the apartment were immediate and always helpful; we felt in good hands for our early morning arrival in Madrid from Canada. We felt immediately at home.

Perfect, cozy and great location!
First, Elena met me to give me the keys and show me the apartment. She was so warm and welcoming and gracious to meet me later than usual due to my flight arriving late. There was even a bottle of wine waiting for me! The apartment is adorable and extremely well-equipped. The air conditioner was awesome to have in the middle of summer! Will definitely recommend this apartment to friends and stay again my next time in Madrid!!

PERFECT
We stayed here three nights this past week and it was even better than we expected. It was about a 10 minute walk from the train and transit center which connects Renfe trains from all over the country, the metro, as well as an express Cercanias train to the airport (terminal T4 only) for only 2.30 Euro in about 40 minutes. Additionally, it was about a 10-20 minute walk to most sites and downtown areas, but the street is resident-only and extremely quiet. There are also plenty of restaurants and cafes right around the apartment - just an FYI that the street is a big hill (as Madrid is pretty hilly) so be prepared if you are carrying or wheeling heavy luggage.
Elena met us in the apartment and gave us the run down, as well as a marked map which was the perfect guide for our stay. Beforehand, she sent us instructions and two complete PDFs with recommendations for places to eat, things to do, and other tips. She was awesome. She also left us a chilled bottle of wine in the fridge - such a nice touch.
The apartment itself is very comfortable and I think even nicer and more modern than the pictures show. There is an upstairs loft bedroom with a queen or full bed that is very comfortable - there is a nice fan up there.
Downstairs, there is a sunken kitchen and bathroom (with a washing machine), as well as a spacious living room with an easy to use pull-out sofa bed. There is an AC, fans, plenty of outlets, and a huge window.
Overall, it was a perfect stay and we were more than satisfied with the apartment and with Elena being a great host. Would stay again in a heartbeat.

Everything you need, and convenient for everything you want to see.
Elena's apartment was ideal for my first visit to Madrid. Fully equipped it felt like home from home! It is ideally located, within walking distance to galleries of the Passeo Prado and to the central area, as well as metro and main train stations. Yet, being largely a residential street, it is quiet and peaceful, with very little traffic.
Elena was great at keeping in contact when my flight was diverted and I was delayed till the early hours, waiting for me on the doorstep when I finally arrived. THANK YOU ELENEA

Clean apartment with a great location.
A clean, neat apartment on a quiet street perfect for a couple. Close to the Reina Sofia Museum and easy walking distance to the Prado and Thyssen Museums. Plenty of cafes, bars, a grocery store and two metro stations are within a few blocks. The apartment has a well equipped kitchen, a clothes washer and is well appointed. Elena was very accommodating meeting us at the apartment on our arrival. Felt like we borrowed a friends apartment in Madrid.

We were near everything on a quiet private street. Well stocked and thoughtful for tourists! Right down to umbrellas for rain! It was warm and cozy.

Nice, well kept apartment in a convenient neighborhood of Madrid
The apartment was perfect for 2. We were able to walk everywhere including to the train station for easy travel for day trips. We used the nearby grocery store which was open 24 hours per day. Elena is a gracious hostess who met us with a smile and provided information on local sites, restaurant suggestions and evening entertainment. We would definitely stay here again if we return to Madrid.
