The communication was always delayed with host, sometimes unanswered. Hot tub was murky and dirty, lights in the poolhouse never worked, no pool towels provided. (The pool was the main reason I booked this house.) What looked like a dishwasher in the kitchen was actually a mini-fridge, and it never worked. The drip coffee machine leaked every day, there were no baking pans, and the oven was dirty. I had to sweep and mop the whole house after arriving - dust and spiderweb or cobwebs and dust bunnies were also commonly found throughout the house and property. We quickly ran out of dishsoap and paper towels provided, the sponge for cleaning was old and gross - I ended up buying my own. Washer/dryer are very nice, but are located in the creepy basement, and we are only allowed to do laundry after 3pm, which wasn't always possible with our schedule. The doors are hard to open, and they move/make noise often thru the night. The front door is very hard to keep shut unless you deadbolt it. The sliding screendoors are in disrepair- easily come off the tracks or get jammed, and the screens are ripped in places. The shower door does not stay closed. The small bedroom fire alarm goes off if you let the steam from the shower creep in there. You have to enter into the small bedroom thru the bathroom or main bedroom, it doesnt have its own hallway, so it is impossible to get in or out of that 2nd room if the restroom and master bedroom are simultaneously in use. The white furnace/fireplace thing didn't work. Towels, pillows and blankets were limited - although we were told that we could request more, the delayed response time of previous messages sent made me just want to make the best with what we had, so I never asked. We could never find how to control the deck lights. No house manual or "how-to" list for any of the property amenities was provided. I really enjoyed watching the sunrise from the deck every morning, and watch the stars shine against such a dark sky every night. It is quiet and calm there. The TV had an Amazon Firestick, so we could watch our favorite streaming shows. The short walk to the small grocery store was very nice - but the nearby bakeries and ice cream shops were closed during our entire3-week September stay: so check the local biz season hours to see if those walkable conveniences are open and available (like great coffee & a fresh cinnamon roll) if simple comforts like that are important to your idea of vacationing like me, LOL

The property was beautiful and very peaceful. Ate breakfast on the deck overlooking the ocean every morning. The accommodations were perfect for the 3 of us. Plenty of restaurants near by and the beach is beautiful. I would highly recommend this place!

Quiet and Great ocean/sunrise views from lovely deck!
Quiet and Great ocean/sunrise views from lovely deck!
Nice space. More space than one thinks on the property. Never found the communal pool? Small town is nice, good restaurants, outdoor seating. Excellent grocery store short walk away and beach just over a mile drive. We’d come again!

A super stay
A super stay
The Brackett at The Moorings is a wonderful place to kick back and take in all there is to see and do here. The harbor view from the deck and floor-to-ceiling living room windows is spectacular and ever-changing. The accommodations were quite comfortable during this winter visit, especially with the cozy gas log heater sending out its warmth. The king bed is very comfortable, with high-quality linens and a fluffy duvet. Reservations and check-in were a breeze. The owner is very responsive and helpful. In all, this is an excellent base from which to explore the area.
