Nestled in Volcano, this lovely house for R 2,553 per night is a fantastic choice for your next vacation. The property is a 6 room motel built in a u-shaped design. Each room has a separate entry and lanai with table and chairs looking out to the forest. As you enter the forested driveway that leads you to the house, you will know you are someplace very special. The entry gates open to the courtyard with a 6 person hot tub in the center. Each room has Batik bird of paradise bedspreads and matching chairs on the lanais. Each room has a coffee maker , coffee and tea, mini fridge and microwave. We normally supply coconut milk and blueberry granola also.

The hosts were gracious. The extra touches of water in the room to say nothing of how wonderful the muffins and fruit were. More than expected!

On arrival, the bathroom had #2 in toilet, tub had a big hairball and dirt, hand towel was dirty and smelled terrible. Dirt on the floors. Room had a very musty/mildew odor. The fire detector had been removed from the ceiling and inoperable. I'm pretty sure this violates firecode and is illegal to rent a room without. The driveway into and parking lot is a very rough, unkempt gravel. I don't recommend this property.

John welcomed us and we were in our room quickly. Large room with in suite bathroom was wonderful. Patio was really nice to sit at during the evening and morning. The muffins and fruit were really great for breakfast. Although the bed linens were very nice, they were damp to sleep in. I would stay again.

This property was a short drive to Volcanoes Park. It was a quiet property with charm. The hot tub was a big plus after a day of hiking.

The ONLY complaint was that one of the blankets smelled of mildew. However, the area was very humid in general during our stay so we simply didn't use the blanket. It was a nice place to shower and sleep after being out all day. The beds were very comfortable. The fresh fruit and muffins were very enjoyable in the mornings before taking off as well. The property was very nice, quiet and quaint. I would recommend it to others as we would stay again.

After long hiking on the volcano, it was wonderful to come back to a hot tub! Also, super friendly host and other guests who recommended a great restaurant in Volcano and insisted we go back to see the volcano at night. Holy moly! That was probably the highlight of our trip.

John and Joy are amazing hosts from welcoming us to their property, providing a lovely breakfast of muffins, fruit and yogurt and checking in with us periodically to see if we needed anything else. The location is perfect in proximity to Volcanoes National Park. The private patio is lovely and you are truly in the rainforest. We enjoyed our stay very much!

The Jade Oasis was a perfect home base for exploring Hawaii Volcanoes NP. It is just a couple of miles from the entrance, and not too far from Hilo either! John and Joy have created very comfortable accommodations with a lot of personal touches - fresh fruit and muffins, a hot tub perfect after a long day of hiking, a comfortable bed, and a nice patio. We loved the peace and tranquility of the location and enjoyed listening to the sounds of the surrounding forest as we slept. Highly recommend!

Location is very convenient to the park, town and activities. Rooms were cozy and clean. With a small fridge, microwave, coffee maker and fruits, water, yogurt, waiting for us. Very comfortable bed and nicely appointed room. Hot tub in center of property was awesome. It gets cool at night which made for a wonderful sleep. Owner John was great. Friendly, helpful and accommodating. We will definitely stay here again!

We stayed at the Jade Oasis for two nights so we could visit the nearby national park. The location was perfect. John was a great host and the rooms were clean and comfortable. He also gave us good recommendations for the area. The hot tub looked very nice but we unfortunately didn’t have time to use it. When we return to the area we’ll stay here again.

John was available and responsive. When I emailed him about our delayed arrival time, he called immediately and suggested we eat in Hilo before coming to Volcano. He even suggested Ken’s Restaurant which we all enjoyed. We especially enjoyed our private lanai and the banana nut muffins and fresh fruit. The beds were very restful as well.

Property was great- our room was cozy and had a nice spot to enjoy coffee outside. Got tub was an added bonus. John, the property manager, was awesome -his suggestions for food, places, tips for the park, etc were so helpful and was just a nice welcome to the area.

This property had a very hawaiian vibe of friendliness and relaxation. John is super personable and met us when we arrived to give us a tour of the room and environs. We were supposed to be a party of 3 but one friend was unable to make it at the last minute. John graciously refunded my third party fee with no questions asked! The hot tub was clean, easy to access and just the right hot. If you are planning a trip to Volcano National Park this is very convenient, just 5 minutes to park entry. We ate dinner at Thai Thai bistro in the middle of town and it was close and excellent. This is not a cookie cutter place to stay, so if you want sterile this is not for you but the ambiance is spectacular. Everything you need is here. There was coffee, creamer, sugar and maker, papaya and yogurt in the fridge (with the necessary utensils and flatware), and chilled wine glasses as well. Bathroom well stocked with everything you need except a toothbrush. Outdoor is a small lanai that looks out on local area and was a joy for drinking coffee in the morning. Just cannot say enough about how comfortable we felt staying there. Give it a try for a real experience of the islands.

The room had clearly not been cleaned well when we arrived hours after the previous guests checked out. There were used cups in the bathroom and old coffee in the pot. We had to go ask for amenities like the fresh water we were told were in the room. Overall, the place was fine to spend less than 12 hours and get some shut eye. Bed was comfortable, but certainly not an amazing stay.

We stay many places. This was THE BEST!! The pictures don’t do it justice. Clean, fun, super-stocked, and the most amazing host ever!! The best way to describe the property and host are “extremely thoughtful.” The nicest touches ever, and so close to Volcanoes National Park. We will never stay anywhere else, and we recommend this wonderful place to everyone!! The little, kind, thoughtful touches at “Jade Oasis” all add up to make this the best stay ever. John, the host, is above and beyond. He is helpful and kind and a super-star concierge! Any questions we had were answered in minutes and he’s a wealth of knowledge of the area and activities. We have a relative on the Kona side, but will make a point of staying at Jade Oasis for a Volcanoes or Hilo getaway whenever we come to visit. You’re crazy to stay anywhere else. Super value, super nice, super thoughtful- from the white Christmas tree, making it easy to find, to the clean hot tub to the fridge stocked with chilled wine glasses, yogurt and fresh papaya. And another bonus- delicious home-made banana nut muffins. (Seriously- so thoughtful!!) Are you kiddin’ me?!? AWESOME!! MY FAVORITE VERBO PLACE EVER! EVVVER!!!

This property is so cool! The location is perfect for volcanoes National park. All of johns recommendations were spot on and really helped us plan our trip. The room was clean and had everything we needed. So cozy and more amenities then when we stayed at the Hilton at half the price! Communication was great even as it started to get busy. We’ll definitely stay here again!

My wife and I spent a night here for our 20th anniversary. John went out of his way to make us feel comfortable. The place is very clean and well kept up. We enjoyed the hot tub on several occasions and appreciated the extra touches that management took to ensure an enjoyable stay (fresh bottled water, good instructions on what to do around town, light breakfast, lots of towels, etc.). All in all, I would recommend this place to any couple or group staying in Volcano for a few nights!!!

Just Right!

Just Right!

Everything about this place is perfect for a trip to the Volcano. We were able to visit the lava during the day and at night, with hot soaks before and after. It was very private and well appointed with fresh banana muffins and coffee. We would definitely stay here again.
