We have just recently returned from our holiday in Island view villa, and had a fabulous holiday. We are two families with five children between us, aged from 4 years to 11 years old. The villa was perfect for us. It was cosy, clean, comfortable and enough space for all of us. There were 4 bathrooms, which meant we could all shower in the evening without having to wait turns. There are two quite long flights of stairs down to the villa entrance, but these were safe and easily manageable. If you're not very fit, then you may get a bit breathless once you get to the top! The two main bedrooms are on the first floor, and two rooms in the loft. Head height is a bit restricted up there, and one of the rooms is quite small. We managed to squeeze all five children into the larger of the rooms, and they were comfortable in there. The main bedrooms on the first floor were very comfortable with big ensuite bathrooms. The pool had a separate shallow dip pool, which was ideal for the younger children to paddle in. The pool itself was perfect for all of us to use. The views from the villa are absolutely spectacular. It is high up so I'm sure offers the best views in Kalkan. Beautiful and breathtaking views, especially from the 1st floor and roof terrace. The owner, Steve, was very helpful before we got there and during our stay. He responded very quickly to all our questions and queries. Couldn't have expected better service from him. The property managers in Kalkan were also very helpful and quick to respond. The local supermarket is about 10-15 minute walk down from the villa, which I have to admit only ventured down once by one of the adults. I don't think it would have been a good idea to walk down with the children. We used taxis to get out, they are readily available, and they would charge about 15tl (£4) each way into town or back (10tl, about £3 to the supermarket). Kalkan is a lovely place for a holiday. The town and harbour are filled with amazing restaurants and shops. Eating out can be quite expensive, especially compared to the rest of Turkey, but the food is delicious. It is quite hilly, so there is walking up and down some quite steep hills. We had a fantastic holiday, and would definitely recommend the villa and Kalkan as a wonderful holiday destination.

My husband and I stayed at Island Villa for 8 nights in July and loved every single minute. Shamefully, we spent the majority of our time in the pool and on the sun loungers rather than venturing in to the town and taking advantage of all of the trips and tours that Kalkan has to offer. Relaxation was a bit higher in our priority list! For us the selling point was the pool - we didn't need even half the bedrooms the villa offered but we were keen on getting our own pool without having to worry about being disturbed by other tourists. The apartment itself was over 3 floors, with the view from both the balconies and poolside being utterly breathtaking. It was exceptionally well cleaned and maintained and also felt very secure. It was a good 10 minutes walk in to the centre of town which downhill was no problem at all. We didn't even attempt climbing back up in the heat as you could easily get a taxi which cost around £3 a time. Don't let this put you off - pretty much the whole of Kalkan is one big hill from sea level up, and they're continuing to build further in to the hill as the destination gets more popular. You'd struggle to find a decent Villa that didn't involved some kind of ascent. It is slightly overlooked from the apartment directly behind and whilst we were there we could see that the apartment to the right of the property which is currently empty, was gearing up to be let out so again this would impact your levels of privacy. Ultimately the fair pricing reflects this, hence why I couldn’t justify giving it less than 5 stars! The owner was an absolute delight to deal with – friendly and helpful and quick to respond. You can organize transfers through the owner as well – Kalkan is about an hour and a half from the airport so you’d be well advised to book this in advance. Restaurant wise you’ve got so much choice that it’s hard to go wrong. The ones by the harbor edge tend to be more expensive and you can get just as good a views on some of the terrace restaurants just up from the sea. I would strongly recommend this apartment to couples and families looking for a relaxing break with the opportunity to get involved in lots of trips (if that’s your thing). It was amazing to see that literally 80% of the population are British tourists - but not in an Ibiza / Magaluf kind of way (if you see what I mean). Make sure that you book this apartment out quickly before it gets invaded by the package holiday makers!

Just returned from a fantastic week's stay at Island View villa. We travelled as a family of four children, two teenagers and two adults and it was able to cater well for all of us! The villa was clean and comfortable and fully equipped with everything we needed. The pool was clean and the hot tub a wonderful extra! The views were absolutely breathtaking. However in order to enjoy these views be prepared to have to endure very steep hills (we certainly all left with bigger calf muscles!) It was a 20-25 minute stroll down to the harbour. We weren't brave enough to try walking back up the hill so used a cab which cost around £4. Steve, the owner was extremely helpful and courteous, arranged transfers for us and was generally there to help with any queries we had! There was even a little food parcel there for us, which was very welcome at 3am when we arrived with hungry and thirsty children!! Nilgun, the agent that looks after the villa was also very helpful, arranging transfers to a local beach. We tried lots of the restaurants in and around the harbour, our favourite being Paprika, a lovely roof top terrace restaurant with spectacular views over the harbour. Would certainly recommend this villa to friends and family. Although not essential, we would probably hire a car if we were to return again as it would have probably made getting around a bit easier.

Our first stay at Island View villa was a pleasant stay. We stayed for a week and it was the first time we visited Kalkan. The distance from the airport took an hour and a half. The villa is very spacious. The entrance to the villa is down 2 flights of stairs. Getting our suitcases up there was a bit of a challenge as they were quite heavy. The villa is right at the top of the hill, a car /scooter/taxi is ideal as the hills are steep otherwise if you like walking make sure you bring your trainers. We did a medium size shop the day we arrived and struggled getting back to the top. We hired a scooter from Pars rentals for £7 per day. We ate out a few times and found only 1 restaurant which was up to our standards - Chilli's restaurant. The portions are quite small but reasonable. Next door there is a patisserie which is yum - chocolate cheesecake and turkish coffee!

Me, my 7 year old daughter, my partner and another couple who are good friends of ours stayed for a week at the villa. I'd firstly highly recommend this villa for a number of reasons, ideal location offering fantastic views and surroundings, short walk to the marina, shops and local restaurants. the villa itself was superb, very clean and tidy, offering great facilities such as an amazing pool, plenty of room from those sunbathes amongst us, hot tub on the roof top offering breathtaking views. I was also very impressed by the meeting and greeting service by the local lady who met us to hand over the keys and show us around the villa before departing. I would highly recommend this villa for a great holiday in Kalkan. I will certainly be going back in the near future.
