I first visited Fisher Island in 1987 and spent time there on and off until 1994. It has always been a beautiful exclusive destination, but today it feels really crowded and over built. Right now (2023) there is a ton of construction going on and they have managed to create a bubble inside of a bubble by creating gated communities within the island. All that aside, I was also surprised to see how unkept the common areas were. All the roof tiles and pool decks were really dirty and in need of a good pressure washing. The condo: In the past I had always stayed in larger units that had a view of either the beach or the city, this unit is more like a villa with no views of anything. The parking garage is very dark and tight, during our stay we did not have a working golf cart that was available to us. The one that was assigned to our unit was dirty and not well taken care of. Our first impression of the condo when we walked in was not the best. The AC was not working correctly and you could smell mold. There were beach towels laying all over the dining room table and the refrigerator still had items in it from previous renters. The host did have a maid service come in the next day to clean things up. The overall condition of the unit was fair, I had high expectations since this is Fisher Island, but this unit could use a good cleaning and repairs. The balcony was also a mess (dirty). For the money, I expected more.

This listing does not have all the information necessary to make the right decision to stay at this place. This is a private island, before booking I asked if I would be able to use all the amenities or if I needed any type of membership, the answer was no and was incorrect! we couldn't do anything at the island, couldn't go to the restaurants, grocery store, etc.. Who will book a vacation where they have to take a ferry to eat, drink and buy groceries on the mainland all day everyday? We had to look for another place since the owner didn't even have a valid membership so it couldn't get extended to us. After all the mess the owner agreed to cancel and refund our stay, here we are 2 months later and still waiting for the refund, VRBO has the worse customer service and after tons of calls and messages they do not take care of the guests either! what a horrible experience!!

I highly recommend Paolo as a host manager, he is very professional and responsible; the property is excellent, comfortable - we loved our Fisher Island vacation

Second visit to Fisher Island, one of my favorite spots. While there is spring break craziness going on a mile north in South Beach, you'd never know it here. Hardly anyone on the several beaches, nor at the many pools. This unit is in a great spot near the beaches, well-kept and perfect for what we needed!

We throughly enjoyed it and will be back hopefully soon. 🙏

My family enjoyed Fisher Island and our condo. Easy walk to the beach and pool. Golf Cart was fun and very convenient to get around the island. Would definitely come back to the property and the island.
