Disappointing

Room was huge, the bed also huge and very comfy. The location is excellent.

After someone went in to clean the room, they left the rubbish in the middle of the floor and broken biscuits also on the floor. First time I have stayed in a room that was left dirtier by the staff after supposedly cleaning it. Had someone been around when I left at 9am I would have mentioned this rather than review but no one was. I didn't really feel welcome or valued as a customer sadly.

Location good. Free car park. Staff friendly.

Dirty, mould in bathroom. Damaged tiles and damaged sink and shower. No-one to talk to on check out.

Excellent central location and very nice welcoming staff.

Well placed in the centre of Breckon with own parking. Great location for exploring the locality. Whilst being a little in need of updating our room was spacious and good value. Staff were really nice and everything was just right for a couple of nights sampling the town and surroundings.

Not a big deal in an old building but window jammed slightly open in bathroom wouldn’t be so nice in colder weather. Otherwise all good.

Excellent location in Brecon. Staff friendly and responsive to requests. Good functioning electric shower for such an old building.

Room was a little lacking in storage space and a few small extras would have made all the difference. For example - Bathroom - no where to put towels. Room lacked a chair to sit on or a desk to say work on a laptop. Nowhere to hang coats on.

A charming old place, just a few streets away from the centre

We didn't arrive until about 6.30pm - 3 hours later than we had originally anticipated. We were greeted by Bill who was an extremely pleasant chap who couldn't do more for us. Our room was on the 3rd floor, right at the top but that meant we had lovely views. The hosts were really lovely and went out of their way to make our stay great. They stored our bike for us overnight and most of the next day until we moved on to our next destination. We also met their lovely shepweiller pup Lola who was really well behaved. The Markets Tavern Hotel is a traditional type of pub, somewhere that the 'locals' use and still retains lots of period characteristics.

Needed a hotel for one night and this was perfect for us

Great location for the wedding we were attending near by

Very good value for money and the owners were extremely friendly and helpful.

Passable but place was very run down

Beds were very clean and comfortable and hosts were very friendly.

The decor was very dated and dingy. Did not know before I booked that I had to climb 2 very very steep sets of stairs. Quite a challenge for a 78 year old! This should be flagged before booking.

Too short to enjoy the place but so peaceful & beautiful location

Location location location. walking distance to town. Close to Morrison’s if you need any provisions.

the room felt safe and secure.

we were not informed prior to getting there that the b&b was undergoing refurbishment and so on arrival we walked into the front of house and it’ was empty, the restaurant was closed the bar was open with limited drinks but not for long. the room was fine but it was not the welcome we were expecting. there was building and refurbishing equipment all around the pub and downstairs over the place making it feel very unwelcoming and barren. i understand this was our bad luck at the time but for something we booked in advance- a pre warning of the work being done would of been nice.

A perfect location for us to go walking and feel really welcomed along with our dog :)

The location was perfect for us, really easy access to the rooms, with a staircase that allowed us to go privately up to the room and not have to go through the bar. We felt so welcomed and Lynne and Wayne did their utmost to look after us and our dog.
