This is a cozy home just one house away from the beautiful park on the lake in Lorain. We would have enjoyed it more if the porch furnishings were updated and the landscaping was better taken care of in the front yard. That said we had everything we needed inside the house.

We loved our stay by the lake. There were nine of us, and everyone enjoyed the house. It hasn't had many updates and the appliances are old, so if you're looking for fresh and up to date this might not be for you. Everything else makes it great though! The beds were comfy, and there was plenty of space to spread out and entertain. It was freezing, but the kids just had to get close to the lake. We might have stayed there for two minutes, but we did it! Wow, that lake wind is cold! Kelly was quick to respond too. The location is great with some very kind neighbors. We're grateful for a fine place to stay.

The house was comfortable and met most of our needs. The Lakeview Park across the was excellent. We spent a lot of time there, taking beautiful views and sunsets. Property owner is in the midst of making some improvements and I'd one of those is a handrail on the porch steps we would definitely stay there again

It’s a beautiful house and location, they are doing some work on the house which is nice and when the AC stopped working they sent someone right over to fix it! Would definitely rent from this owner again!

Great house with a great location! We drove from Iowa and stayed 6 nights. Perfect size. There were 6 (ages 17-47) of us to start, 2 (15 & 50) came & stayed for 2 days. Perfect location between Cedar Point & Cleveland. Right across the street form Lake Erie. Park across the street with tennis court, baseball field & other activities. Park at the lake had a neat fountain at night & had a concert/play Friday & Saturday. House had everything we needed. There are 3 bathrooms, 2 have showers but we just used the main floor shower. Nice sized rooms. It says there are bunk beds, it's a trundle bed if that helps anyone with smaller children. Awesome front porch! Neighbor Joe is super friendly! We played cards every night before bed, table is big enough to fit 8 people. Washer & dryer available. If we ever go back to Cedar Point or even Cleveland (our 3rd time) we will definitely be staying here again if it's available! Floors are creaky cuz it is an older house but that sure didn't bother us or anyone that was trying to sleep. Great price! Lockbox with a key which is where we always kept it, so much easier & less likely to lose it... Great idea! What we did need, Kelly was right there with it. We had a great time!

This house is a 3 minute walk to the shore of Lake Erie where there is a beautiful park and beach area. The house is very nice with lots of bathrooms and bedrooms. Met the neighbors and they are very sweet. The owner is accommodating and easy to contact. Recommend this house for families.

Beautiful house
This little house was perfect for us, we we stayed there for a cousins wedding and it worked out perfectly for all of us to be u see one roof and comfortable sleeping arrangements, unfortunately the weather wasn’t on our side and we couldn’t enjoy the beach like we wanted in our free time.

A very comfortable and functional home!
We visited Kelly's home for a wedding destination weekend. Our youngest was married in Vermilion and Kelly's home was in the perfect location. We had 3 generations staying in the house and it worked great. The house was clean, stocked with essentials, and was located in a great spot. Across the street was a nice park and just a half block away was Lakeview Park and Beach. It was a wonderful place to walk and enjoy the beautiful lake scenery! We took friends through the house as they have family in the area and they were very pleased with all the accommodations. Additionally, there is a great front porch - where we spent much time talking about the wonderful weekend. Overall, it was the right place for our family.

Couldn't have asked for a better place
Kelly was fantastic with our needs and so attentive. She was fast to reply. My family had a wonderful time and was made right at home. I will definitely be using this home again when my new in laws come to visit.

Nice property with responsive host
Our Family enjoyed our stay at the Beacon B&B and were very pleased with the house which provided sufficient space for everyone to have a bed and sit together for meals. Kelly was very responsive to questions and helpful.

Cute house. Turned out to be a great place to stay for Oberlin Parents Weekend.
If this house listed itself as 3-4 bedrooms I would give it 5 stars. It worked great for 3 couples sharing, but depending on your mix of folks counting on 5 bedrooms might not work. As mentioned by others, the attic bedroom only has access via stairs from another bedroom. Would work great as a kids “secret bedroom” but not for another couple. The stairs are narrow but not dangerous. The basement bedroom is through the laundry room nice and quiet and a comfy bed, but the stairs down would be hard to navigate for someone elderly or obese. It also wasn’t clear to me there was any second exit out of the basement so if you were traveling with a fire-safety-conscious person, no one would be allowed to sleep down there.
It’s a cute old house, immaculately clean with nice little homey details. It is clear this house is lived and cared for and that counts for tons. Even though we were primarily in town to visit our son at Oberlin, the house is in an awesome location across from a park and half a block to the lake. I can see having a lovely multi-family time here when the weather is nice.

It's a nice house
We booked this house initially but Kelly upgraded us by moving us in to her other house which was right beside this one, much bigger and spacious, and had lake view from the patio which was the best part. We didnt explore much except walking to the beach which was completely hijacked by sea eagles which was a bummer. We instead played in the tennis court which was right across the street. Its a nice house that needs to be updated and I believe Kelly is already working on it :) But it was totally worth the amount that we spent. Would totally recommend this place.

The Beacon B & B was perfect for our Girls trip of 6 High School long time friends! Kelly went above & beyond to make sure all was well & she was easily accessible. The big front porch only enhanced our memorable, fun visit!

Clean, good location and great host
The property was clean and was a great location for the Cabela's National Walleye Tournament out of Lorain, Ohio. The layout of the house is a little awkward but once you get used to things it is fine. Kelly was a great host and even gave us ideas of things to do in the area. Joe, the neighbor next door was a wealth of knowledge of things to do and see in the area.

A lovely home that was perfect for a large family stay.
We found this lovely home that fit our family to a tee. There was my wife and me, my three grown children, the husband of one my daughters and their two young children along with my brother. There were bedrooms enough for all. If you are expecting five-star accommodations, this home may be a wee bit old and rustic for you. For others more tolerant of older homes, you will find a charming and welcoming place. Yes, there were things we needed to adapt to like the rustic bathroom in the basement and the low ceilings on the second floor, but those were small issues for our laid-back family. The kitchen was under-supplied with cookware, but we found ways to prepare everything we wanted to. The kitchen is not large, but it was a focal point for the family in the late evening as we all gathered for ice cream. There is a park across the street and a beach just minutes away across West Erie Avenue. We are looking to return there sometime in the future.
