Plenty of room for our group! Cottage was perfect and right on the beach! Kitchen was well equipped with everything we needed to make our meals, board games were available, and our host was responsive and wonderful!

As many others have said, the location is *everything* for this property. It's right on the beach, with just a few steps to the beach access point - so it's got incredible views and convenience! We pretty much only stayed in the house and beach all week, other than a day trip to Hatteras and one meal out. We were also very grateful for the dog-friendliness and functionality of the setup - the dog gate and porch with hose was extremely helpful for us in keeping things tidy and relaxed throughout our stay. And the kitchen is well-stocked with tons of dishes, tools, and appliances - we were able to have a crab feast with the mallets! Similar to what others have noted about the state of the house, the "hardware" is old but everything is functional and Amy has it thoroughly cleaned. In my experience after many OBX summers, for houses in this price bracket, the on-the-beach options tend to be older and the few-blocks-away options tend to be totally renovated; Amy's was far cleaner than other similar properties we've stayed at on the beach. The November 2022 review from "beth t." is a better elaboration on our experience--we'd echo everything she said! And we did not see any traces of previous dog guests, though that may vary from guest to guest as we did go through several times with the vacuum throughout our stay to pick up after our own dog. This was our first (but definitely not last) trip to OBX. The house was perfect. It was clean and comfortable and right on the beach. We had 10 people and a dog and fit comfortably. Sunrises from the deck were amazing. Lots of dolphin sightings!

Absolutely beautiful location. Loved having coffee on the porch, right there on the beach watching the sunrise. House nicely appointed and comfortable. Can’t wait until next year. Rebooking for 2024

We absolutely loved it! Perfect location on the beach. Having coffee on the deck and watching the sunrise was awesome! The children loved watching the dolphins from the deck too. It was a great vacation! Would love to book it again next year.

Second year staying here, weather wasn’t on our side but our stay was super relaxing. Watching the ocean directly from the living room and patio is fantastic. Property could use minor improvements (windows and sliders on first floor in need of replacement and ocean-facing exterior showing it’s age), this is still a top notch place to stay.

This is the perfect beach house. The location is also perfect: a short walk down the beach and you are either at a fun beach bar or the other direction, in endless protected seashore. It is a relaxed home, with extra thought given for being dog-friendly...even a dog-specific towel and toys! You do have to provide human towels and sheets, but there were kitchen towels and bathmats. There was a problem with the address we were given and the owner was 100% responsive and friendly. Love it!!!

Wonderful place, with the ocean right outside the spacious and comfortable deck. The house was clean and had all we needed. It was cozy and comfortable. Check in was simple and the place was just as described. Will definitely rent again. Karen

As advertised, as about as close as one can get to the surf. Very well appointed/charming interior. Very well equipped. Nice & quiet location; yet everything you might need is within a 15 minute drive.

Wasn't crazy about bringing our own linens and towels but we made it work. The house is great the ocean did its job!! Would rent again.

This property is in a great location in Nags Head and as described, you can't get any closer to the ocean. There are a few features of the house that are getting dated and in need of improvement, but the owner has indicated they are planning some remodeling. We would definitely stay there again.

We were extremely happy with this house. We stayed off season (second week of November) so I can't speak for what the area or beach is like in the high season, but it was amazing and quiet when we were there. Amy was kind enough to take time to talk with us on the phone prior to our arrival, patiently answer our questions, and give us some great suggestions on restaurants and things to do in the area. Check in was easy, and we were very pleased with how clean the house was. The house is located literally right on beach. The living room has 2 sets of sliding doors facing the ocean. Although we had some rain during our stay, the views from the living room still made it amazing beach time even with the storms. There is a deck on the front of the house that looks out over the ocean. If you stay here, do not miss the opportunity to watch the sunrise from the deck. Even our teenagers set their alarm for 5am on most days so they didn't miss the sunrise - it is truly a spectacular view. The location of this house made it so easy to pop in and out off the beach, or to sit on the deck and still be able to watch our older children in the sand. The house was well supplied with pots/pans, and anything you would need in the kitchen. We were pleasantly surprised with all of the little 'extras' that we weren't expecting, like dog dishes, a gate on the deck so the dogs could sit unleashed with us on the large deck, and a large supply of board games and books. The location was perfect for us - quiet but still a short drive into the towns for groceries and shopping. I normally wouldn't mention the cosmetic issues, because to us it wasn't important. Because it is mentioned in so many of the reviews though I just want to add my thoughts on it. This is a spectacular, older, ocean front house with great views in a great location. If you are looking for new and unblemished construction, this honestly is probably not the house for you. I am sure you can find plenty of those houses - probably several blocks off the beach or way more expensive. I don't know how it's possible to keep up with the pounding of the ocean and the weather on a house this close to the ocean - Amy has done a wonderful job though. Our stay here was truly magical and I wouldn't trade in even a second of it.

Enjoyed every minute of our stay - being able to sit on the deck or in the dining room and look out at the ocean was just perfect!! Like any rental house, especially one right on the beach, there are upkeep needs but nothing that was an issue… beds and other furniture was comfy, the kitchen had all we needed for cooking … the view was just amazing !! Thanks for a great stay in this lovely home !!

Great value for our money. It's obviously in an area that was built in the 70's and has some cosmetic problems, but had everything we needed and the location was fantastic.

Amy allowed us to bring an extra dog which was really nice of her. The location was amazing. My family had a wonderful time. My only complaint was communication with the owner. I wish that had been better.

The overall location of this property was good. Right on the beach. The property itself is extremely dilapidated and in need of serious repair to include structural issues that gave me safety concerns. The exterior looks like it hasn't been maintained in years with boards almost falling off the awnings and the paint basically gone at this point. The front steps were leaning so much it was concerning. I wouldn't allow the kids to use the exterior shower under the house due to it being so rusted and nasty. The interior the same outdated, not well maintained scenario with bugs and roaches constantly plaguing my family. The second floor shower was unusable due to it wouldn't drain adequately. The windows are all compromised and the doors don't actually seal completely when closed. The cleaning crew was actually there when we arrived at the residence. They acted somewhat erratic and were cause for concerns given they had access to the place. Needless to say we left at least one adult at the house the entire time. Communication with the property manager wasn't great either. I had to actually call the day prior to occupying to get instructions vice them proactively sending me anything. Not a good experience and will NEVER use this property again - RENTER BEWARE -

We knew going in it was an older property so we knew what to expect. When we arrived we cleaned a little because of so much dog hair. Other than that the deck offered the best views and location was perfect. Definitely will come back to Nags Head.

The house is right on the beach. Beautiful ocean view. Weather did not cooperate. Cloudy, rainy and extremely windy the whole week so we didn't get to take advantage of the porch. Old building but very clean. The host wss very nice and let us check in early. Would stay there again.

We had a great time at this property for Thanksgiving 2021. Location right on the beach is a huge plus. All worked well and we have good memories from this trip.

We primarily picked this house because it was literally right on the ocean and the view and proximity did not disappoint. Because it was south Nags Head and the beach was private there were not many other people there, which was nice. The house itself was an older beach cottage so was not overly luxurious, but it was nice and was all we expected, the kitchen worked fine for all of us. The only issue we had was that the air conditioning could not keep up with the heat and it got quite warm in the day even with all the blinds drawn, which cut out the views. it would also have helped if the air filters were clean. Amy was a very nice host and was responsive to the few needs we raised while there, primarily about the a/c. overall, we really enjoyed the house and its location.
