We loved the unspoilt beauty of Siga Siga Sands. We felt like we were in our own little world with both jungle and sea to ourselves. We enjoyed staying away from the crowds that one finds at other resorts. Delicious food was easily provided with a phone call and getting to town was really easy with a phone call to Bablu- the most punctual and wonderful taxi driver. There is wonderful snorkelling and swimming right on your doorstep here too. If you look there is an amazing array of life in the shallows even when the tide goes out. Gene has definitely made this a paradise. We would not hesitate to stay here again.

We stayed in the Sea Horse cottage. It was really delightful. The area is isolated and away from tourists. Very peaceful. We felt like we had the whole place to ourselves as there are only 4 bungalows which are far away from each other. The beach and reef are exceptionally beautiful. Its well worth taking some reef shoes and walking all the way out at high tide, exploring all the weird and wonderful creatures. When the tide is up I can highly recommend going out with the kayaks. The sunsets and sunrises are awesome. We rented a vehicle, but Bablu the taxi driver is always available. He collected us from the airport and drove us to the Taveuni ferry. He is so obliging and can highly recommend him. The town of Savusavu has some nice little restaurants just past the town (such as The Captains table for great curry or pizza with a great view)and/or you can buy food from the supermarkets in town. Its worthwhile visiting the waterfall at Muanivatu village which is close to Savusavu. Nawi Island is also worth a visit and easy to get to from Savusavu.

Nothing in particular
Not the same as in the picture. Host not very pleasant. Tap in the sink needs replacing, water splashing. Needs new look. Has to have washing machine and dryer in the house

Exactly like the pictures.
Simple, rustic charm.
Well equipped kitchen.
Very soft bed.
Peaceful
Nice beach.
Helpful hosts.
Good price
Perhaps calling it "Sigasiga Sands Beach Bures" would be more accurate as there were no resort facilities.
While it's great that you can swim at any time of the tide in the lagoon, the snorkelling there was not all that good.

Lovely location with well-appointed bungalows, warm and welcoming hosts, made for a very relaxing stay.

That the facility owners lived on site & were available most of time. The food provided by the owners were good.
The beds were old & uncomfortable. Wi-Fi stopped working on multiple occasions for hours at a time. The facility in general is old & outdated. Housekeeping was not provided everyday & only upon request. We stayed there 4 nights & expected better housekeeping.

Nice view. Beachfront. Good snorkeling just offshore. Quiet. Loved the two resort dogs Tuk-Tuk and Peanut. Staff was nice. Home cooked food was delicious.
Poor wifi. Ants, ants, ants, ants and spiders inside the Bure! They need Amdro!) Shower was either scalding or cold.

The Seashell bure has been recently renovated and has a fully equipped kitchen. Excellent washroom shower facility, comfortable bed, lovely view of sunrise in morning, great unrestricted views of the ocean from the balcony, pleasant ocean breeze kept us cool (didn't need the air con at all), reasonable wifi. Excellent, reasonably priced homemade Indo-Fijian food available from very pleasant and accommodating hosts. Very good kayaks (2) available with the bure. We would definitely return here! Highly recommended.
if you just want to kick back, this is the place - no need to go anywhere! However, you will need to rent a vehicle, or else take a taxi to go anywhere as it's about 15 km from Savusavu, and about 5 km to closest bar/restaurant (Koro Sun Resort).

Very nice location, there is a double reef and they provide kayaks and snorkelling gear.
The housekeeper is very friendly and available to help you. We had airport pick-up and drop-off. Bablu took us to the Vuadomo village and rainfall for a fair price.
The cottage has everything you need.
The hot water was broken and it couldn’t be repaired since we stayed during Easter. It wasn’t their fault but we still took cold showers for 3 days.

The hosts Subash and Sunita were extremely helpful and went over and beyond to make my son and my stay welcoming. Sunita's cooking was unbelievably good and the location on the beach was so beautiful and relaxing.
You will need to take a ten minute taxi ride into town if you are looking for shopping or restaurants. However, with Sunita's cooking and the beach, you really shouldn't have a reason to want to leave.

Great location, perfect size for what I needed with amazing views. Kitchen was a nice bonus to make breakfast before diving. Wifi was strong which allowed me to work remotely.

the property was peaceful and there was a lot of privacy - but subash and Gita were always quickly available if anything was needed. They were extremely kind and welcoming to me and were also able to connect me with a driver, Bablu, who was very helpful and reliable. Gita also makes great, reasonably-priced food that they will bring to your cottage.
the kitchen was well-equipped with everything I needed to cook for myself and the screened in porch was awesome for being able to enjoy breezes without bugs.
it’s not very close to town, so it’s important to be aware of that and plan for transportation - that’s why I was so glad to be able to arrange for rides with bablu

the beach is really nice, water is really clean and lots of wildlife
Staff were rude and intrusive, made us leave the room to service the AC when we didn’t have anywhere to go. power kept going off and we kept walking up drenched in sweat.

We chose this as an affordable place to stay close to Savusavu. In this respect, Sigasiga delivered. The cottage we stayed at was simple but had everything we needed. Tap water was very good.
The snorkeling right out front was fantastic. However, the isntructions were a bit hard to follow, so let me give additional tips. What you have to do is come to the beach (where the too little shaded areas are) and look at the ocean. If you can see water right by the structures -- it is high tide and I dont think you can snorkel. (Maybe you can but it will be hard.) If what you see is a long stretch of tide pools -- time to snorkel. To snorkel: walk perpendicular to the beach through the tide pools to the outer edge. I timed it -- at fast (but safe) pace it will take you 10 min to get to the snorkeling spot. Basically, you will snorkel past the tide pools. Once you cross the tide pools, the entrance into the snorkeling lagoon (you will be protected from the ocean by the outer reef) is approximately where the shade structures are on the beach, hence my suggestion to walk perpendicular from there. Look for turquise blue water path (aka sand at the bottom). Once you are there, it is intuitive to find the way in, but the path is narrow yet perfectly safe. I agree that this is not for never-snorkeled folks. The snorkeling there is really good. Calm waters, beautiful coral. Honestly, i thought it was as good as when snorkeling the rainbow reef on Taveuni (though worse than diving for sure).
Well, you get what you pay for. You get a cottage in the middle of nowhere with no office. So everything must be done through phone. It was not perfectly peaceful: while we were there, they were digging all over the place to build new cottages (houses?). The cottage itself is minimalistically constructed, and so ants and other small critters get in. This is a common problem in Fiji, but was particularly acute in Sigasiga. Many phone numbers in the "guestbook" are outdated. The hiking "trails" are a joke: these are just dirt roads for the Sigasiga estates development. Sure, they are through the "virgin rainforest" but they dont feel like trails at all.

The cottage had everything we could need. Very well thought out, excellent view, cozy bed, AC functioned properly and had temperature control. Subash (property manager) was very helpful and always so friendly. There were also many screened windows to allow for good air flow if AC was not desired. The porch was large and we had a dog/cat join us for relaxing most days. The beach is a stones throw away that you can view from your couch inside or the porch outside. The kitchen is well equipped with a 4 burner gas cook top, plenty of pots, pans, and cutlery. The inside and outside showers were nice and the toilet was in its own room separate from the sink area and shower. Kayaks were available to use free of charge. There were many sea creatures to be found by hiking along the shoreline or down the beach to the left when facing the ocean. At low tide you can walk around the point and check out some interesting rock formations. We saw plenty of star fish, sea stars, sea cucumbers, a few eels, and many beautiful sea shells some with resident hermit crabs.
The main room could use 1 or 2 more lights. A bit dim when all of the blinds are shut. Maybe 1 additional under cabinet light above the cooking area. When the AC and fan were both running it made it difficult to cook anything on low heat as the breeze blew out the flame. Our friendly dog was not so friendly to visitors passing by along the beach especially in the early morning and sometimes late at night. A few nights there were kayakers out in the bay using headlights (possibly to fish). The dog did a great job guarding the property but woke be up a few times in the middle of the night. Overall her company was worth the few wakeups :) One thing that needs to be looked into is the septic. We received BUCKETS of rain during our stay which left a lot of standing water around the property. I am assuming this is what caused issues in flushing the toilet when the water levels got too high. This could be a deal breaker for some if it were to rain days on end with no let up.

The whole experience was excellent. I highly recommend Sigasiga. Highlights include snorkelling in the lagoon, helping yourself to fresh fruit off the trees and eating it, Gene's hospitality, the family home we stayed in.
It was all good, but make sure you have mosquito spray.
