Oct 2021We were in town for a long weekend and were able to spread out with 5 adults, 3 Kids and 2 dogs. The house has all the amenities you need (including more microwaves than ive ever seen in one house). Dec 2021We spent Christmas weekend with our family of 8 (4 parents, 4 young adult children) and had a wonderful time. The house had all we needed in a cozy layout that allow for together time as well as separate spaces to escape to. We took full advantage of all the amenities… hot tub, fire pit, grill, WII video games, board games and neighborhood walks while at the house. And we ventured out to ski at Wisp, ride ATVs, hike Swallow Falls and eat dinner out at Mountain Brewery. Christmas ‘21 was a success and created some great memories. Jan 2020We loved this home. It is kid friendly, clean, many beds for a large family, It is a short walk to the lake but being most eat/drink alot on vacation, alittle exercise will be a good thing. Its in a great location and the owners communicate well. I highly recommend Leer más

Nov 2019We had a wonderful time. The home had lots of space for all to go and visit or rest. Owners were very accommodating in letting one part of our party enter the home a little early as they had driven all the way from Maine with small children. There were lots of games to play and it’s a nice neighborhood to walk in. We didn’t go to the dock so can’t really comment on that. We just spent a lot of time visiting with family. We truly enjoyed having a place large enough to accommodate our ever growing family. We were a little concerned about some of the comments about the step stairs in the home as I had back surgery four weeks ago. However I had no trouble navigating the stairs.

Oct 2020We had a great family vacation at John and Joyce's home. There is plenty of space in the home for everyone and plenty of games/movies in the house. It's a quiet and wooded location with easy access to the lake and regional activities. John and Joyce provided plenty of instructions to make the check-in and check-out as smooth as possible. Mar 2022We all loved the house! It was perfect for 11 of us ladies. The table in the dining room was nice for us all to sit around for breakfast and playing games in the evening. Each of us had our own room, though it was not as handicapped accessible as we would have liked it to be, my boys made the transition for the grandparents fairly easy. The ground floor bedrooms worked out perfect for my husband and I and his parents. We thoroughly enjoyed the home and surrounding ammenities! Oct 2021This house was amazing! John an Kathy have a beautiful home! They were so gracious for allowing us to bring our service dogs with us! The home had plenty of space! Everyone had their own rooms, although the beds were extremely hard :( that is the only thing I would change! We made lots of memories shared lots of laughs! We made tons of good food! Mar 2021The property had everything we needed for a weekend escape from the city -- the backyard was perfect for games, the living room a cozy spot for movies and some Wii sports, and the kitchen had everything we needed to cook dinner at home. It was a short drive to Wisp for an afternoon of skiing, and a short walk to the lake access.
John and Kathy were very responsive throughout our booking process and were flexible when we needed to change the dates of our stay.

Aug 2020Perfect family get away. Room for everyone to spread out. Perfect fire pit big enough for us all to sit around. Large yard with paths through the woods and even a badminton or volleyball net area. The walk to the dock was a little under a quarter mile and there was a space to pull your car in if you didn’t want to hike it all the way at the top of the hill to the dock. Walking down was easy but it was a workout on the way up. Probably a good thing with all those late night mountain pies. We have a toddler and there was plenty of room in the king bedroom for our pack and play. Lots of baby gates were provided and there is a safety cover on the hot tub. We also took our kayaks and rented a water trampoline. Fun was had all week and will stay again. Leer más

WiFi was strong enough to support the kids' activities and several of our group working during the week. Note that the dock is decent walk from the house and includes a lot of stairs. It is also not in the water during the off-season. This is likely not a surprise if you frequent the deep creek lake area. Leer más

Pros: Quiet area, nice hot tub, well-outfitted kitchen, plenty of heat in the rooms, and lots of hot water for bathing.
Cons: Hard beds, old furniture, dated decor. Again, no surprises based on previous reviews.

Aug 2021I booked this property last second for a get away with my family. The reviews online are consistent and could use a deep cleaning. As this was last second, we relied on having internet connection as we had some work obligations early in the week. Unfortunately, the internet did not work! This created a lot of stress, work arounds, and took days off of our relaxation time. We would not have booked if we new this was an issue. In addition, we ensured someone was home when the issue was trying to be resolved. This also took time away from our trip. It was resolved midweek which is good for future guests.
The positives, the owner was very communicative and helpful in trying to ensure our stay was pleasant. The location was convenient and the deck was outstanding. We were always outside on the deck or firepit at night. The dock was nice to sit on, relax, and room to park a boat. Leer más

Aug 2019Check in was good. Hot tub had way too much chlorine in it. The hot tub also had a camera pointing down at it which we were very uncomfortable about. Boating dock was horrible. Steps were too steep and not well kept which was disappointing. Property was listed as private dock for 2 boats BUT it only had room for 1 boat. The owners let their friend park their boat there so we barely had no room for our boat and jet ski. We called them to complain but they did not have it moved. This was a HUGE inconvenience for us. Cell phone service isn’t too good. Rugs inside were covered in dog fur balls and it was not from our dogs. It was also listed as having AC BUT it only had 2 window room units upstairs in the single bed bedrooms. It was very hot through out the house especially in the kitchen. They do have a few box fans. It was nice to have a state park pass to go to the falls and launch our boat and jet ski. Washer and dryer are very small. Also, both of our dogs got fleas. Not sure if it was from outside of property or inside. Leer más

Sep 20214 of us friends wanted a quick getaway for the weekend, it was perfect for a short trip. We rented a pontoon boat where we were able to bring our dogs on board. They were both quick to respond to our questions. The only thing we had a small issue with was finding the dock since the sign on the tree was small.
