First Stage Milwaukee

First Stage Milwaukee is a theater academy that produces free performances during the summer. These shows are presented by students attending First Stage Summer Theater Academy. Students range from K4 to grade 12, and they are working to build confidence and creativity. The performances are held at the Milwaukee Youth Arts Center, as well as art centers in nearby Oconomowoc and Brookfield.

The Beach

Going to the beach may not be the first thing that comes to mind when you hear “Milwaukee.” However, this city has 1,400 acres of beach and park land. Bradford Beach is one of the best-known public beaches in the city. Lining Lake Michigan, this beach is as beautiful as it is fun. You can swim, play volleyball, rent a cabana, have a picnic and enjoy concessions at the park. Big Bay Beach is another Lake Michigan beach. Not only can you swim there, but you can also hike to a scenic overlook on the lake.

The Milwaukee Art Museum is a must-see for anyone with even a passing interest in art. Located in downtown Milwaukee, the museum proudly displays many permanent collections that include almost 25,000 pieces of art in various mediums, including textiles, sculpture, prints, paintings, drawings and more. Temporary exhibitions rotate regularly, keeping the museum fresh and interesting. The museum also hosts events designed to enrich and enlighten people’s appreciation of art.
