The property is great way to disconnect and recharge. Most times when venturing out to beach we had the beach to ourselves. As it is far from the more active parts of the island, we found it best to get groceries and meals delivered.

We booked Kozy Kai Sealodge 17 for our 40th anniversary trip. We wanted a place on the beach with privacy and away from the main traffic. Sealodge 17 was perfect for us. It was super clean as advertised, had all the amenities we needed. I will note the icemaker in the freezer was not working, but no big deal, we grabbed a bag of ice at the grocery up the road and used that. Like everyone else's reviews we read the patio/lanai was the star of the show, we spent so much time out in the patio just relaxing and watching the water. The AC outlets in the patio were not working but we were able to run an extension cord out the door, again, not as big deal. And the beach, OMG, right out the door. Sealodge 17 is the closest to the water and we think the best unit there. And on the beach, there are 4x very well constructed Tiki shades and commercial quality loungers to use. We never had a problem getting a place on the beach and we only seen 3 other groups at various times. Like others have said, you pretty much have the beach to yourself. The water out the door is good, but there is some sea grass to deal with, we used water shoes and it really wasnt a problem. It was great being able to go right out the back door and into the water. Having the washer/dryer was a plus and its out the front patio and very convenient. There were 2 newer AM mini-splits in the home, one in the living room/kitchen and one in the bedroom and we loved that and they worked great, no issues with getting as cool as you want. Also there are ceiling fans in the bedroom and main rooms, very comfortable. We absolutely loved our stay in this villa and would come back again. Sissy, the property manager was a pleasure to talk to and she made sure we were taken care of during our stay (thank you Sissy!!). The villa is in walking distance to Rum Point and a short ride to Starfish point. There is a small grocery a little way down the road and it has a bit of everything including ice cream, beer, and liquors. Our only negative is its a pretty long ride to the SMB/Georgetown area (about 45min), but we knew that going in and all the things we had planned for Georgetown, and the West End area we consolidated into days 1-3 and so we had days 4-7 without any long drives. This is the place if you want to be away from all the 'people' and have a beach to yourself and a clean and comfortable villa with amazing water views and right on the beach!! we loved it...

An enjoyable stay! No restaurants near by and the closest grocery store was astronomically overpriced and under stocked. But other than that the property is lovely! You're in for a very private stay at this location.

The home is a perfect size for a couple. Very clean and plenty of room for your belongings. Large expansive patio in the shade. Or front patio in the sun. Nice to sit in the very comfortable bed and watch the sunrise and see the ocean with your coffee. So close to rum point. We walked everyday in the neighborhood. It was quiet. Snorkeling was great my husband saw a lot of fish right in front of the villa. Glad he had water shoes to get past the sea grass. Would stay here again.

The villa was by the beach and was well-equipped. The north side is a quiet part of Grand Cayman, but is near good snorkeling locations as well as Crystal Caves and the QE II Botanic Park, both places worth visiting.

Phil, who is a good swimmer, was easily able to snorkel the reef as I sat and enjoyed quiet time on the beach. The cabin was very comfortable and well stocked. I have to tell you that the unit was very clean and we didn't see a single bug inside while we were there. Quiet location and snorkleing was superb right outside the unit. Got lots of TV stations to watch at night and the unit had everything needed except beach chairs which would have been nice. It was windy while we were there and we had to go to the south west side to get shelter from the wind. Overall a great vacation condo would rent again.

A beach home away from home! It's such a beautiful place with great snorkeling once you get past the weedy part of the water. We saw eagle rays, sting rays, squids, and tons of different fish. I'd go back in a heartbeat.

Beautiful, clean and quiet property! Great location and there’s everything you need right inside. It was a perfect home away from home for a few days! There is some sea grass in the water, but once you get passed it there’s great snorkeling. We even came across a rare spotted eagle ray!

Beautiful sunrise

Great place. Directly on the water, 75' from front door to the saltwater! Everyday we saw a beautiful sunrise from the lanai. Home is well equipped with kitchen necessity's and a few spices left from previous guests. Could use a few new large beach towels. It was our second time here. We will be back.

This is a perfect place to relax...

The location of this place means your a step away from the beach. The breezy sunroom with its net windows could not be beaten. Everything in the property is carefully thought of to give simple perfection. The two restaurants inside of a 30 min walk are wonderful, but it will be the coal bbq chicken that we cooked under the stars whose memory lingers. Don't miss the queens memorial to top off a week in paradise.

Beautiful property and location

Loved it BUT TV and internet did not work well. This is OK as we wanted to unplug, however, I wish the listing would have stated so upfront. I did have some plans for music practice with the aid of the internet, but that was impossible as downloads speeds were slow and often non-existent. The TV blinked off and on intermittently and often an overlay menu window was on screen that was impossible to remove. Other than that, the owners provide everything you need for a relaxing beach vacation. Towels, boogie boards and a virtually private beach. We recommend it despite the tech issues.

What a Gem of a Vacation Residence

First, it was very clean and well appointed. The dwelling itself was every bit as nice as the pictures they post. Nicer even. It was bright and cheerful. The bed was King size and a good mattress. The bath was deep and had 2 shower nozzles. The both porches were screened. Kitchen had a small stove, good clean fridge, sink, numerous cabinets and nice table and chairs. We couldn't be happier with the building itself. The little complex was quiet (in june) and clean. I was really impressed how every day someone was there maintaining the area, blowing sand off the walk and picking up. They even hire someone to clean and rake the beach. Really great. The beach itself was a truly lovely beach. The sand was white and soft and pretty. It was quiet. We were the only people in sight most of our trip. There is a reef out a hundred or more yards so the ocean wave action is dampened along the shore but you still hear the beautiful beach sounds. We watched the few birds and enjoyed the sun in near privacy. I do need to mention one thing which was not an issue for us. Turtle grass is a marine seagrass that has leaves around 10 inches. Here, starting about 5 feet in from shore, there was turtle grass on the bottom until about chest dept water. It is not unpleasant. With my swim shoes on I didn't even really notice. But I hadn't ever seen it before and wondered. It wasn't a problem for us but wanted to inform. It is located on a sleepy part of the island and you have to drive a ways for most anything but that was a plus for us. The Rum Point Club was within walking distance and is not to be missed. I heartily recommend Sealodge #17

Quietest part of the island!

Dislodge #17 is right up front to the water. When you are having morning coffee on your covered patio it seems as though you are right on the beach. The cottage is clean and well cared for. A great place to call home for your stay. Just be aware that most food stores honor the Sabbath, so plan accordingly. The snorkeling off the shoreline is awesome. Swim out to the reef and drift to Run Point. There seems to be a resident sting ray that lives in front of the cottages. I saw him flip out of the water several times as well as when snorkeling.

Amazing

We couldn’t have picked a better place. It’s super private and the beach is beautiful. We will definitely be back. Great snorkeling, ran into a 6” barracuda, turtle, bunch of stingrays, all 50 yards from the back door. Sissy was very nice also. Thanks for a great vacation

Great location. Relaxing. Great snorkeling

Had a great time in ci. Sealodge 17 was very clean and appointed well with most everything we needed except food of course. Coffee maker, beach towels, beach chairs, nice front and reAr screened patios. 57 steps to my beach ca hair from the door of the condo. Current was strong in front of the place but still managed to snorkel every day and even got over the reef 2 days at high tide! Morays, reef sharks, lobsters, flounder aquarium fish were all seen during our snorkeling right off the beach. Miss Sissy the property manager was there to great us a upon arrival and started us off with a spic and span condo. We left what we didnt need to bring back home there just like many other guests before us. This makes for a stay that seems like you are staying at someones well appointed home rather than a hotel room. Thank to the owner “ Winston” for a great stay. Ps shop at Chisolms grocery near the condo. Prices not as high as in Georgetown.

March 2019 Stay

This place was great. Quiet location, beautiful views, great beach, clean building and grounds. We are going to be coming back next year, this place is a dream. Rum Point is an easy walk and great food there. Lots of great places to eat within a short drive and no need to fight the crowds on 7 mile beach. It is an easy drive over to 7 mile beach if you go over there, (which we did and though a little crowded was still good. ) Snorkeling is easier on the 7 mile side but is good here also. Overall, just a fabulous place to stay.

Beautiful location on the Quiet side

When I booked this for our vacation over New Years, there was very limited availability on the island. That being said, the price was quite high, but it was for the high holiday. Also, I would prefer a property with more kitchen counter space because we cook a lot on our vacations, but I can not dock any stars for either of those things because the rental is exactly as displayed, if not better. Also, to me the location on the island along with the overall ambiance of this cottage makes up for any nitpicking I could do. Upon arrival there was a lovely gift basket on the table, which was totally unexpected and we were delighted! It included many little snacks and treats as well as a bottle of red wine and a bottle of sparkling white. Having the screened back porch was so nice, facing the ocean and we spent quite a bit of time out there and also ate our meals there. The front patio was nice to keep our scuba gear and there was a line to hang things up. There is also an outdoor hose just prior to entering the front patio, with an overhead shower if you want to rinse off before going inside. We made use of the outdoor grill, which worked out just fine. There was charcoal and lighter fluid on our arrival. One thing I noticed that owners or management might look into is that the little tray that goes below the body of the grill wasn't in place, which would make for less mess in the sand below. We had a car and traversed the island many times. I was always relieved to be back on the north shore. The cottage is within walking distance to Rum Point, but walking on the narrow shoulder looked a little scary to me. Thanks to owners and management for a lovely place to spend our New Years vacation! Kim PS: I noticed a previous reviewer saying that the ocean in front is not swimmable. That is not accurate. There is sea grass floating on top many days, but you can wade out in the water in water shoes and then swim about. I didn't do a lot of snorkeling but saw many people out during the time we stayed.

No swimming

My wife and I stayed here for 11 days over Christmas There is a beach in front but you can’t swim there The reef with sea grass covering it comes all the way up to the beach The place is very far away from swim able beaches, we drove an hour each way every day to get to one That got old Some okay restaurant around but the grocery store is quite far away You need to get everything that you want to eat or drink before driving all the way up there It’s also very windy on that side of the island Cottage itself was fine, nothing great or bad A little irritating looking at beautiful water that you can’t get in
