Gorgeous view from the patio watching the waves come in. The area where it was located was really convenient.

This is a stunning unit. It is as advertised and has a beautiful ocean view which provides stunning sunrises and sunsets. The unit is situated about 15-20 minutes from the airport and provides a great location to access both the north shore and the south sides of the island in reasonable time. We really enjoyed staying here and would stay again without hesitation.

Everything was easy going. Not a lot of bells whistles, but it was all we needed. We enjoyed the amount of space, and the close proximity to the pool! Our only complaint was that the bathroom fan did not work, which caused it to be really muggy.

Nice place, great view

We’ve stayed at several places on the east coast of Kauai and this condo is, without a doubt, our absolute favorite. The location is perfect - convenient to both Lihue and Kapaa. It is located high on a bluff with stunning views of Wailua Bay. The view is absolutely stunning. The condo is clean, comfortable, and nicely furnished. It is a first floor unit steps from the pool. The grounds are incredibly well maintained and the property is very quiet at night. We had excellent communication with the owners. This is a gem of a place.

Our stay at Wailua Bay View was a wonderful one! As others have mentioned, the unit itself is as pictured in the listing — simply decorated and stocked, but extremely easy to recommend for its privacy, location (many great eateries within easy walking distance and condo is centrally situated to all island attractions), closeness to the ocean for watching and listening to the crashing of the waves, and its ease of use (ample parking, keyless entry, eg). The unit and condominium complex are both really just geared toward adults — small, very quiet, minimal grassy area oceanfront, no beach, and strict pool rules. These are all things that we found to be fine, but wouldn’t be what we’d recommend to friends or family members with children. Although we liked the simplicity of the decor, our stay would have been nicer had there been: (1) a newer couch (the current one is covered with a protector which slips around/ is messy), (2) another towel rack & clothes hook, plus new bath mat and shower curtain in bathroom, and (3) a new, complete set of kitchen flatware, and (4) newer/more comfortable lanai furniture. The owners have nicely stocked the unit with a couple rain umbrellas, beach towels and other beach necessities, extra bed pillows, basic kitchen utensils — all appreciated. We felt the newer ceiling fans and free standing fan in living room were perfect for keeping the condo comfortable. The property manager, Mark, was such a great ambassador for Wailua Bay! He greeted us upon our arrival and obviously took pride in keeping the exterior of the complex and grounds in tip-top shape. He was a lovely, welcoming, and friendly resident manager. We never heard from the owners during our stay, but we never had a need to contact them with any problems, either. We can easily recommend this unit and property to any individual or couple looking for a modest, clean, quiet, direct ocean-front Kauai accommodation!

Everything about this VRBO was stellar! It was clean, had everything we needed for cooking, had super comfy furniture, had access to a clean pool, was quiet, RIGHT by the beach, and had all the beach essentials available to use! This was a great location to access both the north and south side of the island, which was fun for us. We couldn’t have asked for a better stay.

This condo has the best view and the sound of the waves is amazing! Love this location on the East shore of Kauai. So easy to get anywhere on the island from here. Conveniently located near restaurants and shopping. The listing is exactly as described and pictures show. Lots of space for a couple. Washer and dryer in unit is also a plus. Great communication with Luke. Would stay here again and recommend this condo.

Great location and everything in the unit met or exceeded our expectations

Overall a very nice place. Enjoyed being so close to the ocean. The ocean breeze and surf noise could be strong but easily regulated with the sturdy patio doors. Interior was generally clean but showed wear. Sparse on dinner wear and household items.

We thoroughly enjoyed our stay. The condo is clean and well maintained. The owner of this condo is extremely responsive. We had an issue with the coffee maker and it was replaced that day. The building manager was present and friendly. The view from the patio is outstanding. We had breakfast there daily and stayed in for dinner on our last night so we could enjoy the view a bit longer. We slept without the air conditioning and the windows open so we could hear the waves at night. The location is perfect. We were able to easily travel to all sides of the island from the condo. There are a number of great places within walking distance (eg Sleeping Giant Grill, Lava Lava Beach club, Coconut Marketplace, etc). The Passion Bakery across the street is a must visit for malasadas. We did not use the beach next to the property due to the wind and weather during our visit. There are a number of beaches nearby for snorkelling. The condo had all of the amenities we needed during our stay (snorkel equipment, beach chairs, cooler, beach towels, communal bbq in the pool area). We would highly recommend this condo and we are hoping to return.

We loved our stay the condo was comfortable and a great location for us to explore the island. We spent most of time on the lanai listening to the waves! Paradise Bakery across the street was amazing and Lava Lava Beach restaurant was just down the street.

The unit has a great ocean view and is truly right on the ocean. The unit needs some minor repairs and sprucing up and some furniture replacement to bring it up to 5 stars. Specifically, we would update the refrigerator, the sofa and stock the kitchen better than it is now. We found it to be quiet for sleeping, the bed was good and the bathroom has been renovated. Note there is no elevator in the building. the location is very close to shops and beaches. There are some traffic issues at the present time with Kuhio Highway. The owner did respond quickly when we asked for a couple of kitchen utensils. Overall we like the complex. The higher number units tend to be quieter. We advise to ask about steps to get to your unit.

Ocean views. Saw whales, seal and dolphins. Very comfortable for the 2 of us. Central location. Would stay here again!

This property was clean and well laid out. We saw whales and turtles while sitting on the lanai, it was amazing. The owner was super responsive when I asked a question.

We enjoyed our stay at this property. The ocean view is awesome and it is a blessing to wake up and go to sleep with waves roaring. I took off one star because there are improvement areas with the cleanliness. The kitchen cabinets are greasy to touch and I had to wipe all with Clorox. A lady knocked on the door and checked to see if we already left at 9:30 am on our departure date as we were getting ready to check out. I understand they wanted to start the cleaning for the next guest asap but honestly we felt rushed when it is clearly stated that the check out time is 10am. Overall, it has been a pleasant stay.

This 1 bedroom oceanfront condo is right on the water. If you want to sleep to the sound of crashing waves, this is the place! It was exactly as advertised. Located within walking distance of Wailua river, shopping, etc. Perfect for a couple's getaway. Clean, with everything you need. Owner is terrific, too.

Very nice condo over looking the ocean from the lanai. The bedroom is on the road side and can hear the road noise. The owner provides a lot of extras with the condo that we used and appreciated.

Right at the start of the Kapaa strip, this condo feels like part if the community but not crammed in. Views are towards the airport and the Wailea beach park but you can still walk to some of the restaurants and stores etc to the north. Condo was clean and fairly quiet. Previous reviews about the lack of a/c other than the bedroom are accurate but sea breezes and fans keep it mainly pleasant through the day. Nice, small, barely used pool outside the entrance, convenient parking and trash and recycling area. Lots of water toys, beach chairs, mat, towels, etc. Liked the decent amount of counter space in the kitchen and eating at the bar on the lanai. We appreciated the heads up from Luke about Koloa Landing for snorkeling as otherwise we may have missed that opportunity to see as many colorful schools of fish and turtles etc. This is a great location if you want to stay at one central place and do day trips to the north and south shores with probably the most options for restaurants and stores.

This place was quiet and relaxing. Pool right outside the door and was very nice. Unit has all the basic essentials and we most enjoyed cooking breakfast and eating outside listening to the waves crashing. AC in bedroom was very nice and many fans available throughout unit, plus all the beach items you would need. Go to Boss Frogs down H-56 to rent bikes as the costal bike ride was amazing. We also loved the Stone Dam hike and Captain Andy’s Napoli sunset dinner cruise was the best ever with top knot notch service and food.

Clean place with more than the basic necessities. Beautiful view 24/7. We appreciated the location, making easy day trips to each side of the island. Plenty of local coffee, juice, eateries and beach front bars to grab a bite at. Property is very well kept. The pool was sparkling. Hope to book here again.

Fabulous beach front apartment where the sounds of crashing waves were very soothing

Amazing location and view. Our only negative was not being informed about the building work taking place within the condominium which got a little noisy but otherwise would have been a perfect stay! The building manager who gave us our parking permit was lovely!

Accommodations were just fine and quite comparable to other places in the area. We enjoyed that we could open the windows at both ends of the unit and turn on the fans to benefit from the trade winds. The AC in the bedroom was just great and truly the only place you need it anyway. We so enjoyed the view from the deck, both over morning coffee and evening drinks - just wonderful! We also cooled off in the pristine pool every evening which made for an excellent way to cap off our daily adventures. We loved that this unit was within walking distance to both the Coconut Market and the delicious Passion Bakery. We note that a brewing company is going in a short walk away, which makes a return trip and stay at this unit quite likely in the future. Thanks for a lovely stay!

From the listing to staying at this property, everything was as expected. We cooked dinner in the condo a few nights and had everything we needed. Great view of the ocean and you can hear the waves crashing just outside. We had a 1 year old so the pack n play and beach toys were great to have. I used the snorkel gear one day to check out some fish just a mile away. They also have some great spots in the area where they have rock wall breaks to keep waves down for little ones. Everyone we met at the pool was super friendly and helpful also. I would stay here again.

This property was the perfect place to end our vacation in Kauai. Super central to everything we needed! Close to the airport, shops, restaurants, kayaking, and beaches. The AC in the bedroom was very welcome and the rest of the apartment was well equipped with all the gear we needed to enjoy our time there. Super communicative hosts with awesome recs for activities in the area. Highly recommend going to Passion Bakery across the street for malasadas!

The condo is fantastic. You can hear the sound of the waves from inside the condo with the doors open and screen doors closed. It was well equipped and really enjoyed our stay.
