About this condo rental
Located in Centro, this charming condo for $169 per night is a great choice for your next break. Perfect alternative to an expensive hotel room without giving up luxury or location! The apartment is on the third floor (with elevator) of a completely new building, but with original facade. It's located on a very popular street, "Calle de Huertas," situated in the Historic Center of Madrid, "Barrio de las Letras." Walking distance from the Prado, Thyssen and Reina Sofia Museums, and the Palacio Real. The apartment has a king size bed, plus additional sofa beds in the living room. Lots of light and smack dab in the middle of all the must-see, desirable places in Madrid. The bedroom has 3 walls, meaning it is not totally private. A wall/closet separates the living room from the bedroom (as can be seen in the pictures). The apartment is right next to Plaza de Santa Ana. Near Puerta del Sol and the Plaza Mayor. You can walk to La Cava Baja, Mercado de San Miguel and also to Parque del Retiro. Truly a perfect location. *If your stay is at least 10 days, we have a complimentary cleaning that you can schedule at check in. This includes change of towels and sheets. No charge! *All of our sheets and towels are professionally dry cleaned.

This is the best VRBO property I have used. (And I have stayed at quite a few all over the U.S.) The location cannot be beat. The owner/manager Gorete Fieira is both responsive and a great source of local information. The on-site concierge, Alicia, is also terrific. The apartment is kept spotlessly clean and is very well equipped, including the appliances. A fantastic place!

Well thought out and appointed apartment on a wonderful street. Walked everywhere-Retiro, Prado, Plaza Mayor, Puerta del Sol, El Rastro, etc. great communication and a lovely space- I would come back again (and stay a month)!

This apartment is in an excellent location and closest by foot to the three major art museums, tons of eating options and not too far from a couple of metro stations.
The place itself is a modern, cozy and highly functional home away from home. It is spacious enough to be able to relax and do practical things like laundry. Gorete is the best VRBO host we have ever had. She has been so responsive and full of great information prior to our arrival and when we arrived. She understands when you travel from abroad that detailed instructions even for the simplest things inside the apartment or advice on how to get to the apartment helps travellers feel more confident and less worried about the little things. It is so great she tries to arrange to have someone meet you in person upon arrival. Muchas gracias, Gorete!

My husband and I stayed for a week while visiting our son who is studying in Madrid. The apartment - spacious and clean, stocked with everything we could need for a busy week. It was so nice to come back to the apartment to cool off from the heat and siesta before gearing up for the late nights. The Huertas neighborhood is charming, and is a home to artists, writers and musicians as well as lovely shops, great restaurants and bars. Centrally located to so many wonderful sights like El Prado, San Miguel Market, Plaza Mayor and more. Gorete, our VRBO host, was attentive to our questions during our trip planning and was very responsive when on our last night, the laundry machine stopped working. Alicia the caretaker came to the apartment on a Saturday night, beautifully dressed to go out for the night, and she and my husband emptied the laundry basin full of water by hand. Without their responsiveness, we would have had to leave a whole load of wet laundry behind! It was a wonderful week - we will be back! Thank you Gorete!

The apartment was nicely furnished, and stocked with everything you would need for a comfortable stay. The location was perfect. In the middle of everything and within walking distance of museums, the Palacio Real, the Plaza Mayor and other must see places. We had great communication with our property manager, who provided us with a ton of information about Madrid and where we were staying. She was quick to answer any questions we had and we were greeted by her assistant on our arrival. The only negative was the washer/dryer was one unit and we didn't know how to work it. A small complaint, compared to all the positives of our stay. I would highly recommend staying here and would stay again if we ever return to Madrid.

We had an amazing time staying at this beautiful, stylish apartment in the middle of downtown Madrid and its many attractions. Gorete, the owner, is an incredible ambassador and was quick to communicate. She provided lots of wonderful background on the neighborhood and its history as well as great suggestions for dining and entertainment. Check in was easy and efficient. I can't wait to return to this wonderful city.

My friend and I really enjoyed our stay here! It was perfect for us - great location and very clean. Note that the bed is not comfortable, so if you need a comfy bed to sleep, this probably isn’t your spot. Otherwise, no complaints here and was a great stay!

Beautiful, well equipped apartment. Fantastic, well located - we walked everywhere! Our host ensured we were welcomed and provided detailed information about the apartment, restaurants nearby, things to see and do etc. We would return in a second!

The location of this apartment cannot be beat. We walked everywhere with our 12-yo and 9-yo kids. But because it is very central, do be aware that there may be rowdy revelers late at night. For example, my 12-yo was awoken at 3 am by a large group of folks chanting and cheering as they walked by the street (like soccer match-type cheering). We were prepared for this though, and gave our 12-yo earplugs. She fell right back to sleep (her mama, on the other hand, was another story).
Gorete was also a wonderful host and very accommodating - we arrived late at night and she made arrangements for someone to meet us and let us in.

The apartment was equipped with the basics as well as many thoughtful extras in the kitchen and bathroom, from a new package of coffee, olive oil, different sweeteners to individual wrapped toothbrushes and a shaver plus nice body wash, etc. The owner put together a useful binder of good info and tips, read it first thing, it will save you lots of time! Plus she is always available for a message and responds quickly.
There are wonderful restaurants right on the same block, esp the Vietnamese on the corner, excellent!
The clubs on the block can get a bit boisterous so I took OTC sleep aids like Melatonin or a P.M. ibuprofen but a better idea may be to simply join them 😊

Great location
The apartment was just as it appeared in the pictures and reviews. Gorete was a terrific host! As some of the reviews mentioned, it can get a little noisy at night but cities can be loud and this wasn’t a big issue for us. We loved the location and appreciated the king sized bed and spotless apartment!

We are experienced, retired travelers on our first trip to Madrid. We were thrilled to have found 11 Huertas in Las Letras. Gorete’s lovely flat is within easy walking distance to the Prado Museum, the beautiful Retiro Park and a host of other cultural activities. Every little street brought an adventure of some sort with bistros, tapas bars and beautiful architecture. We found farm to table restaurants and welcoming locals. We enjoyed the neighborhoods and streets surrounding this fully fitted, meticulously clean flat. The only drawback is that because one is located in the heart of the City, there is a lot of street noise nearly every night of the week, owing especially to the presence of two nightclubs below. Still, one is within walking distance of the museums, Puerta del Sol, Plaza Mayor, Chueca, Lavapies, Atocha train station, etc. There is no shortage of great restaurants, pharmacies, tapa bars, and supermarkets.

In the Heart of Madrid
The apartment is cozy, very functional and extremely well-located. The building is very well-maintained and elegant. The only drawback is that because one is located in the heart of the City, there is a lot of street noise nearly every night of the week, owing especially to the presence of two nightclubs below. Still, one is within walking distance of the museums, Puerta del Sol, Plaza Mayor, Chueca, Lavapies, Atocha train station, etc. There is no shortage of great restaurants, pharmacies, tapa bars, and supermarkets.

Happy On Huertas
My husband and I really enjoyed our time while we were visiting our daughter in Madrid. The apartment was comfortable & cozy and the neighborhood was very well located - lots of restaurants and shops nearby. Highly recommend.

The apartment is located just a couple of kilometers from park, museum, and great walking tours. A 7Euro trip in taxi to train station makes it convenient to get to airport or other destinations.
Apartment is clean and modern with WiFi and washer/dryer and cooktop and refrigerator. TV is present but we never turned it on as their are just too many activities to stay inside!
My wife actually lost her purse, wallet, passport and papers left inside taxi. Alicia was very helpful with talking Spanish and Gorete was able to help with English. The taxi driver returned the lost purse with all contents intact!! Great help from a great staff!!

Felt like home
The apartment is exactly as advertised...like home. Literally in the middle of downtown Madrid. Within 5 minutes either direction of the apartment are hundreds of restaurants, bars and lounges. Perfect for a weekend getaway.

Very nice place, but neighbours are noisy
Property owner Gorete was responsive and provided lots of helpful information. The check-in process was similarly excellent. We expected some street noise and there was some but it didn't bother us. The only problem was the next door neighbour in the condo. He (or she) had a Saturday night party that began at 6 p.m. and lasted until after 2 a.m. The music was so loud we couldn't even hear our television and sleep was impossible until after the party ended. This is in no way Gorete's fault, and I don't know whether this party was an anomaly. We stayed four nights and the other three nights were OK although there was intermittent loud music from next door whenever we happened to be in the condo (and we were out most of the time). Overall, the condo was great but just be aware that noisy neighbours may be an issue.

Ideal location
A comfortable apartment ideally located in Central Madrid. It offers all the amenities that draws you away from a hotel stay to this private apartment (washer/dryer, dining area , separate bedroom). Great communication with both the owner and on-site host.

Madrid Home
This is our 2nd stay at Centro. It has become our home while in Madrid. Our friends stay here as well as our friend's friends. Gorete is welcoming and accommodating; whether recommending places to see, to eat, a guide for The Prado. She understands red eye flights from USA and makes every effort to accommodate early arrivals. And if your get lucky enough to also have Alicia greet you at the apartment, you're Madrid stay will be perfection.

Excellent
My husband and I, along with our 18 year old son, enjoyed our stay very much. The apartment was clean and comfortable and well-stocked. Gorete was very helpful and flexible about letting us check in early. The location is very central, so we were easily able to walk all over and there were plenty of restaurants and shops of all sorts nearby. The downside of the location is that there was a lot of street noise on Friday and Saturday nights, continuing until 3am or later.
