Property was beautiful. Listening to the ocean waves watching the sunset from the lanai was a highlight of our visit. We only wish we could have stayed longer.

This condo in the Kona Makai complex is somewhat small, but makes the most of its space, including having a quality washer and dryer set in a nook in the very-well-stocked kitchen (which itself is pretty sizeable). The queen bed is very comfortable and there are lots of extras in the large bedroom and hallway closets (especially bedding and beach supplies). Sports a very nice bathroom (single) and a comfy living room, plus an excellent lanai that overlooks the ocean and pool area. And there's A/C in the living room and bedroom plus ceiling fans to keep cool The only downsides, for us, a family of four, were that the pull-out sofa-bed was a little uneven and mushy, and the bathroom fan doesn't do much to clear out steam. Overall, though, a great place, and the manager, Mo, was great to work with. Also, a very convenient location on Ali'i Drive.

Very clean, well appointed. Everything we needed. We come to Hawaii every year and the view from the veranda was awesome. I will definitely stay here again.

We had a fabulous time for our 2 week stay. I would highly recommend this condo. Everything was just as advertised and more. The grounds were gorgeous the view was even better than the photos. The condo had everything we need for our vacation. Thank you for allowing to stay in your beautiful condo.

I have stayed in this condo twice over the last 3 years and love it. It’s exactly as pictured-beautiful-and recently updated. Communication was easy and speedy. Beautiful view of the water and sunset. I love having meals on the lanai. I’m planning on staying here again.

This property was just perfect. It was clean, cozy and has a wonderful view from the balcony. The pool and jacuzzi area was also very delightful. The other guests on this property were kind and respectful as well. As for the owner of this condo, he was in constant contact from the beginning and very helpful with all of our needs from booking to departure. It was reassuring to see how well it has been taken care of and prepared for our stay. I look forward to returning to Kona and staying at this property in the future, many more adventures in Kona for my Family and I!!

This property was as described and more. We loved being so close to the ocean and within walking distance to town. It was quiet and clean and the sunsets were beautiful!

This property is really great. The ocean view from the front and back of the condo was something else. We’d sit on the patio and watch spinner dolphins every morning. The property is very well manicured and you can tell all the tenants take pride in keeping this place looking like paradise. The unit was also the most spacious condo we stayed at in all the Hawaii vacations we’ve ever been on. We would love to stay here again should we ever return to Hawai’i. This condo provided a perfect place to stay for a quiet birthday getaway. Very clean, comfortable and had everything we needed! Would definitely stay here again!!

What a location! Less than a mile walk to downtown for dinner, outstanding views of the thunderous surf. Property Manager was perfectly communicative as we had to modify a mistake on my end in booking, and was prompt, efficient and very oriented to a hospitable resolution. Would absolutely stay again. The community grills outside are nice as well.

We used to own a different unit at Kona Makai so we have spent a lot of time there. Its an excellent property that is very well maintained. This particular unit is well upgraded a furnished. Its building 1 location also gives it great views from both front and back.. Aside from a noisy bedroom A/C unit it really is a great Condo. Will try to book this unit in the future if staying at Kona Makai.

The best place on the island.

Everything was thought of for you… just get there and relax!

I have mostly positive comments for this lovely place. Pros: first - the ocean. It’s why we chose the unit. I could hear and see it on both sides of the condo. What a blessing to arrive here after a long trip from the mainland and be soothed by the sights and sounds of the sea. Second: The convenience - for us it was easy to drive to the southern and northern coasts, as well as Waimea upcountry and airport. Third: the association and grounds - they are immaculate and private with grills facing the sunset, a great pool area, we’ll kept vegetation. The homeowners are strict in a good way. There’s no messing with the rules which keep the place quiet and beautiful. Fourth: the lanai. Great for drinks and meals and always in the shade this time of year. Now for the cons. Although we kept windows open to hear the ocean, it was hot. The AC in the bedroom was extremely old and noisy and we never found (or looked for) the unit in the living room. Second: getting to the unit for the first time was extremely confusing. We didn’t know where to park or where the unit was. Once we figured that out, we had no trouble entering the unit. The unit manager “Mo” was AWOL. Never responded to my calls when we got in. Luckily the assistant manager of the property was much more helpful. Third: the washer is badly in need of a deep cleaning, especially the rubber gasket. It was filled with algae/mildew and smelled terrible. But all in all, I would love to come back. I love the vibe. But I would make sure they had adddressed these shortcomings.

This condo was just perfect for our anniversary celebration. The view from the bedroom was awesome and was not depicted in any of the pictures. We had to use the AC (I get hot really easily) . I really wanted to listen to the waves but even with the fan on it was too hot to sleep (for me). The lenai was wonderful in the morning for breakfast. The Coconut Grove shopping area was fantastic at night with bars and restaurants and was super close! Everything was just what we expected or better! We loved cooking and had everything we needed in the kitchen. The only downside (really a stretch) was that we didn't know the lower parking lot had a cut through sidewalk right to the unit! We walked all the way down the long sidewalk and struggled with our luggage on the steps along that walk. (there also is no elevator if you have heavy bags!). The lockbox was difficult. You have to punch the numbers in SLOWLY to get it to open. There were instructions to "register all guests and vehicles" but we did not see any "office" or any place to check in but didn't have any issues (I was worried the rental car might be towed). Overall it is a really FANTASTIC place. Mahalo!

We booked just 1 day before arriving for a last minute work trip. Mo's place is great! Can't beat the views and has everything you need to be comfortable. The location is ideal - just a quick drive to all the restaurants and the grocery store which made it really nice.

This is an excellent property and we were told about the pool maintenance. We did not expect the jack hammering from 8 am until 5pm every day.

The condo was clean and well appointed. It is in an older complex that is showing its age. But it is beautifully landscaped and relatively quiet. the condo is in the first building closest to the ocean and the pool - great views from the living room balcony and the bedroom window. I appreciated having a washer/dryer in the unit so that I could have clean clothes as I left.

We booked last minute--the day before we were to arrive!--and from the get go our experience was nothing less than fantastic. Mo was a delight to deal with--his response time to my inquiries was lightening fast! The condo is very comfortable and well equipped. The foldout couch worked just fine for my 22-year told daughter. The kitchen is well stocked and the blender does what it's suppose to do! The Kona Makai grounds are beautiful! Lush and green with lovely blooms all around. We spent most of our time on the lanai. The photo does not do the view justice. It's incredible. And dare I say the ocean right outside the bedroom window is so close as to make it too loud to sleep? Or poor me. Do not hesitate to rent this unit. It's one of the best!

It's very nice place. Highly recommend.

It is difficult to put into words how much we enjoyed this property. The location is out of this world, with the surf always heard and first class sunsets and beautiful mornings on the lanai. Communication with the agent was top notch, exceptionality responsive! When we come back to the big island, we'll stay here.

The host was wonderful with communication., super responsive and accommodating. The condo was recently remodeled and was so perfect. Views were amazing from the lanai and then an awesome. View out the bedroom to the ocean as well! Really neat layout! Condo was very well stocked with towels, beach towels, chairs, water gear. Kitchen nicely stocked and had both a coffee pot and keurig. Wonderful location, so close to the activity on the main strip. Property was maintained beautifully. We couldn’t t have been happier with our choice to stay here.
