Disturbed sleep due to noise.

Nice property. Good facilities. Good location.

Significant noise issues on the first floor, lacking adequate soundproofing. Late night conversations from the lobby, including both staff and/or guests, are clearly audible from the rooms located in the first floor.

a box of bagels should not be considered as a breakfast. No house cleaning, bad room setup (couch misplaced, no mirror, no table despite the space). old and aged furniture and couch.

Good location with friendly staff.

The staff were very friendly throughout my stay. The location next to Dupont Circle Metro could not be better. Lots of great restaurants in the area.

A van was parked in the driveway the entire time of my stay which prevented Uber drivers from accessing the hotel. Therefore, you have to wait down the street for your ride. The room was just ok, and in need of maintenance. My room was not serviced during my stay. What really disturbed me was to see what the owners have done to a historic Washington property. This was a poorly done renovation to make a once beautiful building into an inexpensive hotel.

I enjoyed the location, the facilities were clean, well thought out even had dyer sheets.. throughly appreciated the architecture of the Placemakr, the historical significance the staff was pleasant accommodating and with great advice on the neighborhood

The rough bounce of the lift was such a minor issue. I walked the stairs most of the time and enjoyed the decor, marble and wrought iron craftsmanship

No breakfast though they stated we could have it outside. Our booking did say breakfast included. But luckily plenty of nice places around. Location is good

Too much of noise..Unfortunately we were given rooms next to lobby which are worse as no restrictions put by staff to control voice control of guest. We had disturbance practically every night due to noises inside . Rooms otherwise are very well insulated. They must do something to control

Stay in D. C.

The location was great and made it easy to do all the things that I wanted to do within walkable distances. The staff was friendly and helpful and were very accommodating. The atmosphere of the hotel was charming and made for a unique setting for a stay.

There wasn't really much to dislike about the stay so I'll leave it at that.

Perfect location, reasonable accommodations and super friendly staff!

The location was wonderful. Everything that you would need is within walking distance. The staff was extremely friendly and tried to be very helpful whenever a situation arose. The kitchen area was adequate and there was plenty of storage space for your things.

The dryer portion of the washer/dryer combo did not work. I was truly depending on being able to wash and dry clothes since we were staying for 10 days. We talked to the front desk about it and they sent someone to look at it. It still did not work properly after maintenance worked on it but there were not any additional steps taken to try and repair it. They did offer to have housekeeping dry our clothes if needed. The bed was quite uncomfortable because it was very hard but to each their own. I would also suggest installing a full length mirror in each room. Possibly on the inside door of the very tall closet cabinet .

Placemakr staff and manager were most helpful

The breakfast is good with fresh fruit available. Please add some gluten free crackers to your offerings. Appreciated the tomato juice. Please add some cheese packs to the breakfast offerings . The kitchen is well-appointed with good quality appliances.

The sofa in the room was a disaster. It is so broken down it almost swallows you whole and injures your back when you try to get up. Please get sofas that allow for sitting in some comfort. A firmer bed would be good. A more cheerful reception area would be appreciated: Some plants and fresh flowers ? It is a very drab entry area.

Central location from which to explore Washington DC

Interesting historic building with modern facilities. Huge common areas including lounge, kitchen and shared desk areas that were great for snacks or to relax in. Comfortable room with washer/dryer facilities. Close proximity to fabulous restaurants, supermarket, bookshop, bakeries, coffee shops and the underground train station. Interesting area to walk around in, to see the international embassies nearby. Easy access to get to Smithsonian museums via train network. Fruit and yoghurt available in the fridge in the common kitchen throughout the day. Helpful reception staff were able to store our cases for us after checkout.

Breakfast provided would be ok if you like your breakfast consisting of either bread/bagels/english muffins or high sugar cereals/yoghurt. (Note there are some fabulous local bakeries and cafes that may be a better option for some people.) The only lift working during our stay seemed to be out of service for about half a day but was fixed fairly promptly.

Great option in central DC

Great find - historic mansion right on Dupont Circle. Nice unit with full kitchen, seating area, walk-in closet. Great value for the money (we were able to get this unit for under $150 per day).

The only slight quibble was the breakfast. It could have been better stocked (on some days the pastry selection, etc. was not adequate). However, given that you have your own kitchen, a nice coffee maker, etc., you can have a nice breakfast in your room, not to mention lots of great coffee shops nearby.

We arrived early and were able to store all our luggage at no cost, having a washing machine and dryer, helpful staff regarding metro, supermarket location and places to eat.

What was at breakfast each day was plentiful but a bit more variety at breakfast would be good

Oakwood Suites is an amazing value in a great location.

Great location, lovely old building containing a modernized hotel. Friendly, helpful staff. Coffee in the breakfast room was exceptional!

Bar wasn’t open, but staff referred me to a place across DuPont Circle that was fine.

location excellent and staff wonderful

no reading light or lamp. only one end table. overhead light switch not near bed, therefore had to get out of bed to turn light off since there was no other light.
