Close to Canyon
Great location a few steps away from Canyon Lodge parking lot. Good sized living area with sufficient amenities in the kitchen and living room for an extended weekend. Would stay again.

Great Location - No Wifi
My group of 10 had a great stay at this rental unit. The location was perfect. We enjoyed being able to walk to and from the ski lodge and lifts each day. The property's shared hot tub is big enough to fit a large group all at the same time. The unit was clean and well maintained. The kitchen sink disposal broke midway through our stay and the property management company sent someone to fix it quickly. The only downside to our stay was the lack of wifi. A few members of our group needed to work remotely and had to relocate to local coffee shops instead of working from the rental unit. The wifi was not working when we arrived and was not fixed during our week-long stay. Other than that - we had a great time and will be back!

Mammoth West #116
Nice condo. Downstairs guest BA toilet does not flush properly. Otherwise, great. Do not park in front of Austria Hof, up the street. Two cars got locked with a boot. Thanks much Mammoth Reservation Service!

Nice location
We had a great time , the property is clean and conveniently located near Canyon lodge. Wish there's more lights in the dinning area.

Great Location - Walk to Slopes
A large house within walking distance of Canyon Lodge. House was clean and a nice large living room area and dining table for large groups. On the downside, there was no dishsoap (which we didn't realize until after we went to the grocery store), no large garbage bags (like for the kitchen - just tiny garbage bags), and one of the burners on the range didn't work. Despite that, I would recommend this property - just suggest that people check for these items before going shopping (especially since the nearby Vons is extremely crowded and doesn't beg for repeat runs)

Good location. Nice rooms. Comfy, large spaces. Can’t wait to return!!
My only complaint was that we were missing a remote to the master bedroom tv. Not a big deal.

my trip to mammoth
I thought the rental was nice but in need of some repairs the ceramic tile was in pretty bad shape also the steps outside felt very unsafe in some areas other than that it was very relaxing we enjoyed the neighbors in the adjoined condo were very loud the first night till like 2 am in the morning which prevented us from getting a good nights rest

Perfectly located, close to lodge
Need additional parking for larger units beyond 2 cars. Plenty of firewood but no kindling to get fire started. Sliding glass door needs work to open/close properly. Overall, can’t beat the location.

Almost perfect!
The Cabin was in a great location. Just a 5 minute walk from the lodge. It had pretty modern appliances and the place was really clean. The thermostat was hard to control, so it was constantly too hot, even when set to lower settings.

No stove
The location is good, a 400 foot walk up the road to chair seven. The unit was nice, unfortunately the stove didn't work and we had to eat out every night. Initially we were told it needed to be repaired. After the repair man came the next day we were told it needed to be replaced. The office staff told us it wasn't their problem and that you can't find a stove in Mammoth or Bishop. They offerd no alternatives, like a few hot plates or portable oven. They said it was the rental agencies responsibility. The agency offered us a place in town (far away from the slope) with less beds, which we refused. The rental agency ultimately took off 150 per night to cover our food cost, but this did not compensate for the stress and incovenience (we had six teenage boys with us).

Great for a Group
The place was clean, bigger than the photos made it seem, and ideally located, about a five minute walk or two minute drive from Canyon Lodge.

Relaxing Vacation
The property could use some updates, like the rug was a bit damaged and the furniture (living room)chairs where a bit dirty, but overall we really enjoyed our stay. The property had everything that we needed it even had a washer and dryer, loved the fact that there was laundry detergent. We also love that the property was closed to the parking, pool, and the bus...

Great unit for hosting group dinners for 12+ guests
This is a street front unit that we rented in July 2017 for several days and again in July 2018. We use it as a base for day hiking in the area.
In addition to Unit 116 we also rented 2 other units within the same complex to accommodate a hiking group of 13 adults. We selected Unit 116 as one of the three primarily for its large dining space which has seating for 12 or more persons. Having adequate space to seat everyone for group dinners makes Unit 116 a good gathering location.
It is an older unit, clean but somewhat dark, and the bedrooms and bathrooms are basic. The deck is small and not usable space. The sliding door to the deck helps provide a through breeze but is difficult to open and threatens to come off its runners if opened more than 6 inches.
The kitchen is well stocked with oven proof dishes, pots, pans and adequate glasses, cutlery and crockery to accommodate cooking and serving meals for 12+ people. The one item the kitchen is lacking is a decent quality, sharp, straight-edged knife for use in food preparation.
The unit is on two levels with a significant number of steps from the street up to the front door. Once inside there’s another set of stairs to reach the main living space and kitchen.
In summary, it’s a clean, no frills, 4 bedroom unit, well suited as a central gathering location for hosting seated meals for 12 or so adults.

LITTLE SATISFIED BUT NOT COMPLETE
Very good location.
Poor manintenance, the heater had problems, some chairs was broken when we arreived, no linen in some beds. I think the price was hight for the quality of the facility.

Worst stay experience ever!
Walked into #116 and couldn't believe how dirty this place was! Tiles from the floor piled up in a corner, Cockroaches in the bottom bedroom, and NO HOT WATER on the second night! We should've complained the moment we go there, but we didn't until we hot no hot water. This place is a disaster and need some serious maintenance! We stay at mammoth west every year and not sure will be back.

Spacious old place close to Canyon Lodge
We found the condo to be very spacious with its two levels and three bathrooms, it easily accommodated our 7 people (including children). The décor is dated and it could use some maintenance (eg. broken tiles in entrance way) but we didn't mind this too much given the reasonable price compared to other rentals in the area. The location is reasonably convenient although quite a big walk to Canyon in ski boots (10 mins) carrying gear if you are not super-fit,. We loved the Jacuzzi in the building next door and also the fireplace, although disappointing that we had to call twice for the promised firewood to be delivered two days after we moved in. Kitchen was not well equipt. Simple things like wine knife missing. Drying rack for clothing would also have been great even though washing machine and dryer provided. Place was surface cleaned only upon arrival (eg dirty under beds etc). Average place for average cost really so I wouldn't complain or rave about it.

Acceptable with serious upgrade needs
We were a group of 2 families with 4 kids total plus an additional 2 adults. Having read previous reviews I can certainly confirm the serious need to upgrade this place. We had a good time and cannot really complain about anything. One of the best things was that the jacuzzi was right next door. When we ran out of firewood the on site manager was prompt to respond to our need even though it was the owners responsibility (we weren't able to get in touch with the owners, just voice mail). Be mindful with children and have them stay away from any electrical outlets as some of the wiring didn't appear to be safe (some of the outlets didn't even work). Overall appearance of the place is rundown (stains on carpets and furniture, old kitchen, one of the bunk beds very flimsy, etc.) and not well maintained, but hey, it's sort of good value and close to Canyon Lodge. Also, there's no BBQ and only 2 assigned parking spots (policy). This is your below average value rental.

Very old and dirty
When we arrived there was no number on the unit so we couldn't find it so we had to call manager. The property was not at all what the description said. It was old and dirty. All the furniture was extremely old. We couldn't use the dining room chairs' as the wicker cushions were torn and some with big holes. The kitchen utensils were dirty and old. Some of the pots was so old that the nonstick coating was flaking off- this material is known to be harmful and cancer causing!! The bunk beds were so unstable and unsafe that we couldn't use the top bunks - kids ended up sleeping on the floor! Also, the footboard of one of the bed came off as it was completely off the frame. We found mouse droppings in the dresser drawer. Carpet on the stairway is all torn. The blankets and pillows are decades old. Also be forewarned that if you have a loud neighbor in the adjacent attached unit that you will hear everything as the walls are paper thin. This comment will also be posted on the VRBO so that people will be forewarned about this property before booking.
