I really enjoyed staying here. It may not be for everybody. I like the oldđ Front doors are original, old, heavy absolutely gorgeous. stairs are crooked, again, i like old. our room was updated, we had a balconyâ¤ď¸ bed was comfortable.
location was perfect for us. we love the quarter, restaurants, close-really close to Bourbon, couldnât hear anything.
I donât like that we had to leave.

Quiet area if the quarter

I loved the location and how convenient everything was... the fridge, microwave, bunk beds... very cool stay for family with children! Just know you arent getting any deposit back as advertised, so when your price hike ups 100 dollars more than what was advertised know you are not getting it back after your stay at hotel with a non working ac and box fan!
the courtyard isnt too appealing but overrall cool place... aah and they could use a better cooling system!!

Great location to everything, decor was beautiful.
bathroom shower could use a shelf for toiletries. We had a large group and someone had to sleep on the futon. Itâs extremely uncomfortable and old.

the family room was perfect for us. There was everything we needed! Us and the kids absolutely enjoyed everything about the mansion. We appreciated being able to experience the history of the home.

What I liked was we were tired, and even though we arrived an hour early, the keyless entry was ready for us. I liked the close proximity of a diner (thank goodness- we were starving). I liked the selection of toiletries left on the counter for us. I liked the towels folded expertly, like a 5 star would do. It was surprisingly quiet, considering how close we were to the party avenue. I did get a real flavour for the New Orleans I expected.
So no offence, I think itâs just not our jam. I am Canadian and came a long way. I have only seen New Orleans on t.v. I get that youâve gone to some trouble to make it authentic and provide a unique experience. But I understand now that your accommodations were on the party avenue. And I was scared because of homeless people near our doorway. Iâm not sure that front door was secure, but I did appreciate the grate to view the road before stepping out in it. If I were 19, with a crew of girlfriends and ready to hit the town, this would have been perfect. But Iâm not. The steps were steep and it was drafty in our room. Perhaps an additional comforter could be available for the double bed.

The room was charming! Beds were cozy. The room was very clean. We stayed in room 2, and the courtyard was right outside the room- beautiful area to hang out in. The hotel was in walking distance to all the restaurants and shops.
We had to call the staff to freshen up the linens and tidy the place up. With the price we paid for it I figured that would be an automatic daily service.

everything, it was great location and had that old french quarter feeling

We booked the âfamily suiteâ tiny room with lots of caricature, the bung beds were wobbly and unsafe to sleep on, we called and asked to be moved, they said all rooms are booked and offered an air mattress. The sleeper-sofa was so old you couldnât even sit on it, let alone sleep on it (springs and metal with no foam). We slept on air mattress that was provided at 11 pm (after waiting for 2 hours)
After notifying them we will not stay another night they checked us out but declined to reimburse us for the second night and did not compensate us for the terrible first night.

Very clean, easy, and surprisingly peaceful being that bourbon was right there!

Lots of stairs to climb, no reception, so nothing to buy, not even water. In the room above, there was a couple who fought all night, it was very bad. We also ran out of water in the plumbing, and we didn't receive any notification about it. I don't recommend it, I found it too expensive for not offering anything.

Itâs a unique stay thatâs in a great location.
The front door didnât lock. The floors had nails coming up
and there were bugs weaving in and out of them. We stayed
on the 4th floor. It did NOT have a balcony. I can see why
I read that wrong but itâs definitely misleading. The place
was for me & Iâm 5â1, so my 6â4 hubby wasnât too thrilled as
it seemed more of a converted attic space than an actual floor.
The narrow staircase makes it challenging enough, but one
of the railings is broken at the base and I had a scary incident.
And the place could have been a lot cleaner. Its due for a deep cleaning. For the price, we could have stayed at a nearby luxury hotel.

This place is a lovely and hidden old gem.
The staircase to the second floor is a bit scary and the walls are thinner than weâd hoped (sorry, neighbors).

I absolutely loved the decor and the history. The location is fantastic, half a block off of Bourbon Street, but quiet once you are in.
I absolutely loved the fountain in the courtyard and was thrilled to see bananas actually growing!
We were only supposed to stay one night, but decided to stayed two after we checked out. So, we had two different rooms #7 with the balcony and #2 with the courtyard.
Yes, this place has a few quirks, but it is over 200 years old, so if that bothers you, go stay in a chain hotel.
Iâll definitely stay here again!
While I appreciate the authenticity, the staircase could use a bit of work.

Non provided
Air conditioner barely cooled the area. Almost no water pressure to take a shower. I tried to open the bathroom window and it's stuck shut. The window and frame practically fell out of the wall. The stove lights didn't work.

Fan in room did not work, room was a little hard to keep cool

The courtyard was beautiful. Bathroom looked really nice. Location is great - close to Bourbon street, but on the side street. You can pretty much walk everywhere.
Our room looked a little bit more basic than the ones we saw on the photos. We were also disappointed because it said that every room has a balcony and ours did not. The water pressure and temperature was not very good, but that can be expected since it is an older building.

Location
AVOID, YOU HAVE BEEN WARNED.
Feel free to check my review history â I have stayed in accommodation from basic hostels to 5 star hotels and never given anything less then a âvery goodâ review â until now.
Pros â Location
Cons â Everything else
Service was the main issue â myself and three friends stayed over the jazz fest 2022 and were coming in from different countries (UK and Bermuda). We booked over 6 months in advance, paid over ÂŁ5k and messaged 3 weeks before with our arrival times to no response. Two friends arriving from Bermuda were landing 5 hours before the party from London and were unable to get access to their rooms, despite all the emails, as the main booking was under someone elses name. When the London party landed and were able to contact the property the manager, Laura, she was perhaps the rudest person we have ever spoken to â completely unhelpful and just kept referring us to an email that had come through whilst we were on the flight and which we could not access at the airport. When we finally got access to the email and the access codes to the room they were wrong anyway and she had to give us the correct ones over the phone â total shambles!
Cleanliness â We had 8+ old busted AC/ Fans in our room and several cockroaches â we tried to speak to the cleaner who we saw once in the courtyard but she spoke limited English. Over the 5 nights we stayed we saw no other member of staff.
Honestly stay anywhere else â there are countless options in New Orleans (a fab place to visit) â this is overpriced and the service is appalling!

Great location just off Bourbon and on the quiet end. Easy access to Bourbon St. as well as Jackson Square and the French Market. The courtyard was fantastic and very relaxing. The Clover Cafe right across the street is a straight up awesome old school diner.
The tub/Shower in the Parlor Suite or Room #1 where we stayed was a little weird. Tub was elevated entry of about 3 feet off the ground so you had to sit on the edge and swing into the shower/tub area. OK for most, but would not recommend this particular suite for older folks for that reason. Also make sure to turn on the dehumidifier. The AC can't keep up without it because well it's New Orleans and it's humid there. Glad they had it in the room for sure. Tile was great, but I would suggest some rugs as it was a bit slippery. Aside from these very minor things it was fantastic.

Location! And the room was beautiful. Oh and the court yard was great!! Love that there is a bathroom right there!!
The AC didn't work well. Even with the dehumidifier, it was so stuffy and humid.

the place and the decoration of the room and the patio.

This property is SO charming. Every room is different and the high ceilings and large bathroom was so wonderful for our stay.
Once you walk outside, you are steps from bourbon, check out clover grill for a not-so-sober bite to eat or head down to royal and get your coffee from CCâs. This property has it all and I canât wait to stay here again!
Oddities that didnât break my score but things to be aware of:
-Our room became very humid, make sure to use the dehumidifier.
-A/C didnât function very well, I think it needs to be cleaned and filter changed.
-Only one light worked in the bathroom, no fan either so it did get very humid in the bathroom after showering.
-Shower was a bit interesting to get out of.
-Since our room was on the 1st floor- you could hear the main door slamâŚ..at all hours of the night.
-Garbage picks up at 4-5am every other day, so be aware, theyâre also super noisy.

The location was ideal, except it gets very loud at night especially during Mardi Gras season
The "blankets" were 2 thin flat sheets so be sure to bring extra warm blankets and the room was super cold. "Quiet times" did not exist for us. The light switches in the bathroom did not work. We were constantly waking up every hour because it was too loud outside our window and within the mansion. Our neighbors were very loud.
7.0
The room was very close to the main French Quarter. Just a few steps from lots of things to do - cute shops and bars, etc. The hosts were mostly prompt with their responses. The beds were very comfortable. The space is nicely decorated with an "old world mansion' feel.
The room was very cold when we arrived, so we turned on the two small heaters - it got warmer by the evening, but was never really comfortable (granted this was an abnormally cold evening for NOLA). This specific room (#1) really was one big room with a bunch of beds in it. The 'luggage room' wasn't adequate for storing our luggage - it's also the cleaners' closet with all their things in it. The most difficult part for us was the noise. This room is right on the main street with big old windows, so you can hear people walking up and down the street all night. Also, it's right by the door, so any time someone anywhere in the building comes or goes, it bangs shut (even though there is a sign to not slam the door).

The courtyard was pretty awesome. The staircase was charming. The girls thought the Clawfoot tub was cool.
There were some Porch lighting issues. At the price point, there should have been some welcome snacks, drinks provided.
6.0
Location was great. Courtyard was pretty. Room was charming. Not worth the price.
Blankets were terrible/thin. Pull out bed so very noisy. TV kept freezing. Poor water pressure. Not worth the price.
3.0
Convent in and out with door codes, beautiful courtyard. Building has a lot of charm if they would upkeep and clean the place adequately for the prices they are charging.
Cleanliness, water issuesâŚplumbing and hot water wasnât working in the sink, poor maintenance and not taken care of very well.
