Highly recommend to everyone- I cannot wait to return

Attention to detail, cleanliness, fantastic breakfast, hosts go above and beyond for guests, comfortable room, beautiful setting, Aldo (the greeting pup). Highly recommend to everyone- I cannot wait to return.

Relaxing, scenic and refreshing.

This was a lovely stay. Dawn and Blair are excellent hosts, friendly and knowledgeable about the area. Breakfast was awesome. Room lovely, with a great veranda and lovely garden view. Would highly recommend staying here. Charlie the Cassowary and his chicks was an added bonus.

Marvelous Mission Beach hideaway!

Beautiful gardens, lovely warm pool, comfortable room with views out to the gardens and amazing cassowaries that just wander in! Also the added bonus of complimentary breakfast provisions served in the main house.

Our stay here was really enjoyable. Dawn and Blair are wonderful hosts and ensured that we were well looked after. A wonderful fresh breakfast with sightings of a casswary was the highlight!

Wonderful.

Excellent breakfast - terrific offerings and flexible times. The hosts are very friendly and helpful. Lovely garden surrounds with beautiful plants and wildlife. A pleasure to stay at this property and so peaceful and relaxing. If arriving by bus, be sure to let the hosts know in advance as they will generously pick you up and drop off at the bus stop (a 20 minute walk from Wongaling beach)

A wonderful place to unwind

Everything about the Licuala Lodge is absolutely wonderful. Waking up to the sounds of nature, this is the perfect place to truly unwind. The hosts, Blair and Dawn, do such a great job taking care of their property. The gardens are stunning and there is plenty of wild life walking around. Their homemade breakfast, which gets served on the balcony that overlooks the gardens, was delicious. We planned to stay for one night but extended since we simply loved it.

Amazing place, close to beach and delicious breakfast

The property is beautiful and surrounded by the rain forest! As soon as arrived we were welcomed by one of the wild cassowary walking around the garden! breakfast is delicious and the owners are welcoming, kind, and able to create a very friendly environment which felt like home! Thank you!

Everything was above & beyond, except for the surprising lack of a/c in the room in summer

Delightful hosts. Great location. Beautiful surrounds. Lovely breakfasts. It was just a lovely stay with lovely hosts.

We were stunned to find that there was no airconditioning in the room. It didn't even occur to us to have to still look for this in accommodation in NQ in Summer. We feel it would be best if they specifically mentioned NO Aircon.

Very good

Great location Beautiful gardens Quiet. The hosts were excellent. Breakfast was excellent Will definitely come back.

The only thing I wasn't loving was the lack of air conditioning, the fan was a bit loud and I don't like sleeping with fans on, end up with dry throat etc. Was humid so not a great night. This is only a very very small downside to an absolutely amazing place.

really pleasant and sweet place to stay in Mission beach.

I really liked everything about it. the hosts were really nice, helpful and made great breakfast. The rooms are sweet with a nice and clean bathroom. we saw a cassowary and some paddy melons in the backyard - it was an easy walk to the beach, supermarket and the local gym. I would recommend this place to families, couples and even solo travelers.

Amazing property but let down by no air conditioning.

Location. Couple of minutes drive from Mission Beach. Beautiful garden. Amazing swimming pool. Lovely breakfast supplied by very hospital hosts. Trip was made perfect by a cassowary bird walking round the garden.

Major criticism at this time of the year is that there was no air conditioning ( although this was known when I booked it). This made the bedroom unbearable to sleep in, even with both fans on and the door open. The room also had no TV which was no big deal, but everywhere we stayed in Australia(even basic motels) had that. As an example the current motel we are staying in has a high quality fan, very high quality air conditioning and a TV that is greater than 42”

Nice location, quiet and relaxing, close to beaches and places to eat.

Location. Garden lovely with birds common. Comfortable accommodation and very pleasant helpful owners. Loved seeing Southern Cassowary wander by most days. Nice pool.

Lovely, a true gem - highly recommended

We had a lovely stay at the Licuala Lodge. Dawn and Blair are lovely and welcoming and the lodge is a real gem. It perfectly fits in the nature and wildlife, also a cassowary comes around in the morning.

Beautiful little accomodation sorrounded by nature with a great pool. Breakfast was excellent. Dawn & Blair are very friendly. We even saw a cassowary. Highly recommend this beautiful accomodation.

Fantastic and comfortable stay

We had a truly outstanding stay. Our room was gorgeous, with a really cute balcony with candles for evening reading and a glass of wine. The gardens are gorgeous, with a really beautiful pool and plenty of wildlife roaming around (including cassowaries, although we seemed to just miss their visits on our stay!) The hosts are wonderful - so knowledgeable, and gave us brilliant tips for the rest of our holiday (we changed our driving route the next day to visit some of these places and were not disappointed!). Great kitchen area with board games, TV etc. Would love to stay again.

Superb

The lodge is located next to a rain forest and it was a delightful setting. It was close to local beaches and very good restaurants. The owners were so helpful and friendly, nothing was too much trouble and we thank them for looking after us so well. Breakfast was very good and plentiful. The pool was set in the attractive garden and we enjoyed a swim each afternoon.

A serene place in the middle of the tropical forest

Beautiful B&B in the middle of the tropical forest. Serene place with comfy rooms. Lovely hosts. A couple of cassowaries came through the garden while we had breakfast. We loved Licuala lodge!

Superb

The location is absolutely beautiful. The gardens are so well designed and maintained, we spent all afternoon relaxing in the salt-water pool admiring them. Bonus, we saw a Cassowary just walking around the gardens! We stayed in the Superior King Room, which I highly recommend. It's very clean, functional and spacious. The breakfast was an added surprise. We enjoyed freshly brewed coffee and homemade cakes, literally the best way to start the day. We cannot wait to return.

Exceptional customer service. Dawn and Blair went above and beyond. Very knowledgeable about the area and super friendly. 10 out of 10 Gardens are absolutely gorgeous.

Would have liked air-conditioning in the room and a fan in the outside seating area as it was a very hot week. My bad for not checking. Fans provided in the bedroom which were great at night but noisy, air-conditioning would have been the icing on the cake

Pleasant stay but no aircon

Pretty spot, pleasant accommodation. Nice breakfast and lovely hosts.

No air conditioning unfortunately and we were there at a super hot time, which made sleeping hard when you’re not used to the heat. Shared balcony.

Rainforest hideaway

Amazing location!! Felt like we were hidden away in the rainforest. Rooms were great, Mission Beach is eco friendly so don't expect air con (I struggled haha). Delicious breakfast on offer, can pay to upgrade too.

That we only saw 1 cassowary haha. Honestly nothing, such a great location, will definitely be back
