Fabulous. I'll be back.

I went up to Skye with an old friend who had never been to Scotland before to show her one one of the beautiful places in Scotland, do some hiking, and relax. And Canowindra was a fabulous place to relax. The owners are such sweet people! The breakfasts were great! I love an excellent classic Scottish breakfast. And our room was one of the nicest I've stayed in on holiday for years. I could live there! And after some good hikes during the day the wonderful clawfoot bathtub really helped.

This is not critical... It would be amazing if Canowindra were within walking distance of downtown Portree so one would not have to drive to go out to dinner.

Gorgeous B&B with inviting staff, delicious breakfast and exquisitely comfortable bed and room.

Loved the breakfast and the ability to choose the night before. It was a beautiful presentation, fresh and delicious. The bathtub and walk in shower in our room were EPIC!!!

Honestly cannot think of what I would change. It was excellent.

Everything…. There literally isn’t a single thing to not like about this property. Everything felt new and clean, the host…incredible, kinda, always there when you needed something. Couldn’t recommend enough.

Canowindra is a gorgeous BnB, and Georgie and Rick are the loveliest people. We felt very welcomed and anything we required was catered for. Breakfast was fantastic and the room was beautiful. Thanks guys!

The comforts of home a world away

The co-owners, Georgie and Rick are definitely in the correct business. It's clear they enjoy people, and made us feel cared for. Communication with them was excellent, both prior to, and during our stay. Years ago, when Georgie was fully booked, she took it upon herself to find alternate accommodations. We were so grateful that we simply had to stay with her this time around. We're so glad we did! The layout of Canowindra allows guests to feel at home in public and semi-public spaces without feeling they might disturb the owners. Still, we found them to be so incredibly responsive whenever we needed them. Of particular note were the super-comfy beds. We do not fall asleep easily, but most definitely did at Canowindra. We had three of the four rooms, and all of us slept so well! We visited four properties on our trip, and this was far and away the most comfortable! At breakfast, guests could choose from a variety of offerings. The owner, Georgie, was both attentive and unobtrusive. She made sure we had everything we wanted, and was also available to answer any questions we had about our day's activities. We greatly benefited from her years of knowledge about Skye.

I can't recommend Canowindra highly enough.

From the moment we arrived everything was geared towards making us feel at home. The room was very comfortable and well furnished as was the en suite bathroom. Just loved the fluffy white towels! Breakfasts were a joy with a great variety available. Georgie's special mix granola was a treat. Canowindra is about 5 minutes by car from Portree and sits in it's own grounds. I would recommend this establishment to anyone looking for a base from which to explore Skye.

I couldn't fault anything.

Beautiful rooms in a beautiful B&B - the bathroom was fantastic with a huge claw foot tub. The B&B was in a great location (a car is necessary, but there is ample parking). The host provided delicious breakfast.

The wi-fi worked, but would have appreciated a quicker connection especially for things like streaming on the television in the evenings. :) But since we were out and about most of the time, it wasn't a big deal.

Excellent B&B in Portree

Canowindra is an excellent B&B at the edge of Portree. Our host Georgie was lovely and helpful. Our room was spacious and perfectly furnished. The bed was very comfortable. The bathroom was modern, luxurious with a rain shower and a soaking tub. The location is just outside of the town center (about 3 minute drive) and is very quiet. They have ample parking for all guests. Georgie's breakfasts were made-to-order and delicious.

Everything was perfect! No complaints about anything. Highly recommended.

it’s good but doesn’t quite deliver against its price

excellent breakfast, clean room, friendly owner, easy to find, plenty of parking

for its positioning and pricing as ‘luxury’ it lacked things such as towelling robes, face tissues, lounge area. bathroom was lovely but the bedroom was relatively small with very limited hanging space

Cosy and value for money

Really cosy room and bed. A relaxing location that was great for an easy morning walk. 5 star service and comfort. Received a warm reception and the breakfast was great. Georgie's granola is simply amazing!

I will definitely be back to stay

this was a perfectly located property to explore the Isle of Skye - very friendly attentive hosts who have thought of everything to make your stay comfortable. the room had an extra large king size bed and the mattress was very comfortable. Tastefully decorated throughout and very clean - honestly worth the money and the breakfast was exceptional- thanks to Georgie for her hospitality

Lovely owners, beautiful property, tasty breakfast and felt very welcome. Comfortable bed

Only issue was a stiff shower fitting, but as soon as we informed the owners they said they would get straight on it

Canowindra is a beautiful, cozy B&B in a gorgeous location, with friendly hosts and very comfortable rooms. Location wise, its fantastic for Skye as every major tourist point on the island is quite easily accessible from here. Breakfast was good, our room was fantastic and both the hosts were very welcoming. Would definitely recommend it and we would happily stay here again.
