The property is really cheap compared to other places. The people taking care of it was really nice, help you to get tips and activities (Scooter, massages…). We had a big bed and a big bedroom

The bathroom has no ventilation at all, so you smell the humidity

We loved our stay at the bungalow Alone Cage, it is situated at a very calm and quiet place and even has a nice little terrasse and a hammock. Upon arriving we got delicious coconuts and Waruna could help us with everything like recommending good restaurants, scooter rental and aranging a privat transport to Udawalawe including a stop at the Diyaluma waterfall, which was great. Waruna even brought us a delicious breakfast-package for our journey with coconut-roti, coconut-sambal and sweet coconut-pancakes.

It would be good to have an openable window in the bathroom to let the humidity out.

price and service were great. They were very helpful, we could leave our stuf there after checking out so that we could do more activity’s.

there were ants walking on our bed and under the pillows. There are a lot of insects outside, you have to be carefull with opening your door. a lot of big insects will fly in.

The people here have a wonderful cozy place. Every little thing placed in here itis just the necessary placed with modesty and all in super good shape like new. The painting is perfect. You can see these people are detailed oriented. The room is exceptionally bright, which we appreciate a lot. They received us with a coconut. What a surprise treat. we got a little misunderstanding, and they solved like the best haven't seen such customer service skills in a while. overall they exceed my expectations. anything you need they are one message away. super available to the guest's needs. (also be aware there is no view to the hills or the mountains, but within 5 minutes walk or at lest you can have it all. if you are looking for the view of the ella rock is not the place)

Some smaller things: there's no ventilation in the bathroom so it stays wet and humid all the time. There were some stains on the bedsheets.

Beautiful location of spacious and extremely clean room. Very stable and fast WiFi. We felt at home, not only because the room has all the necessary facilities (like fridge and water boiler), but we have been hosted with open-heart by the owners. Really cute place, perfect for the couple. We have even been invited for the breakfast for the New Year!:)) 10 minutes walk from Ella centre- Cannot Praise More-One of the best stays we have got in SriLanka.

lovely room, very clean and a perfect location just a short walk from the center. owners are very happy to help with anything including laundry and taxi services. There’s hot water, a fridge, tea and coffee and fast wi-fi. we had a lovely three night stay, would definitely recommend!

Our host and his auntie were so friendly. They had great recommendations and always made everything possible. We can't complain at all. The room was clean and the bed was comfy. We'd love to come back one day. Definitely stay here when you're in Ella. The price is reasonable and not far from the center.

Beautiful little place 10 minutes walking to the main road with lot of restaurants. The staff it's amazing. Waruna is the sweetest person ever!! He tried to accommodate me in any way possible. The street is a little bit dark and i was a little bit scared to walk at night by myself but Waruna was always available to walk with me on both ways. Definitely recommend!!!

Wonderful quiet and spacious stay. Hosts were great and arranged a tuk tuk for me to visit the tea plantation at the last minute. Highly recommend.

Can recommend this place to everyone stopping by Ella! The hosts were super friendly and helpful (always reachable on phone) and the breakfast was delicious. The room and bathroom were crazy good price considered. They rented us their scooter for a very fair price. Also, they made us “take-away” breakfast for our very early departure to Yala. So nice of them :)

A lot of animals (dogs and cats) around. They are clean and cute, but if you are not a animal lover, they might be a bit intruding :)

Alone cage is a little gem in Ella. Waruna and his fiance are incredible hosts: kind, friendly, will help you with anything you need. We felt immediately at home and stayed for a all week! The room was super clean, comfy bed, good mosquito net, fresh towels, little fridge, kettle, hairdryer, hot water:)))) The garden is full of beautiful birds and sweet kittens and dogs that will come to play and cuddle you. We spent hours just observing the garden and you have enough space to chill, do yoga, read a book. If this is not enough wait to try breakfast! Cooked with a lot of love every morning, just for you. I can't recommend this place more! Thank you Waruna for the amazing stay 🙏🏿🌻🙏🏿⭐🌿 will definitely come to visit again

Everything we like. Bathroom and bedroom is clean. Spacious room. There is privacy. Breakfast so good! But at night there were so many insects. We could have stay there for few days if insects were not the problem.

Excellent hosts who are very attentive and responsive to any needs such as laundry, new towels, train tickets, Tuk Tuks, anything we asked they sorted for us promptly and were really friendly and helpful. It’s only a 10 minute walk from the main town area and is also a close walk to Little Adams Peak and Nine Arches Bridge. Room was very big and clean with a nice outside area which is good for chilling and eating. Would recommend to those staying in Ella!

We loved our stay here! Our hosts were so amazing. Communication was great and they were both so lovely to us! Our room was impeccably clean. On arrival our bed was beautifully decorated (we were on our honeymoon). The shower was really great. The breakfast was the best! Also the location was perfect - very quiet but within a short walk to the town center. Also, it was very very close to Little Adam's Peak and Nine Arch Bridge. Each hike took about 20 minutes.

Absolutely amazing experience. Hosts are lovely people, they are very friendly and helpful. Helped us with useful tips, rented us scooter and arranged transportation. And the breakfasts are fantastic. The best experience in Sri Lanka so far. The attitude of the hosts and their treatment of guests exceeds the even standards of 5 stars hotels. Wonderful hospitality! We stayed for two weeks. Kind hosts arranged train tickets & tuk tuks for us. Breakfast was delicious. Room was very spacious with a fridge and a extra big bed. Less than 10 mins walk into the centre of Ella via the shortcut

We loved everything. It is a beautiful place! The location is good, close to town and walking distance to nine arches and little adams peak. The bathroom was huge and modern. Breakfast each morning was delicious. It is our favourite place in Sri Lanka so far. The host was very helpful in arranging trips/transport. It was wonderfully peaceful and quiet.

The property is in a great location and the owners couldn’t be more helpful! It was clean, had a good hot shower and comfy bed. The breakfast was amazing and crazy to think that it’s included in the price which is so cheap. There’s only 1 room so it’s very cosy and you won’t be disturbed by any noisy neighbours.

The only thing was the dogs at night but I imagine this is a problem in the whole area and not the fault of the hosts. Just bring ear plugs if you are a super light sleeper!

Alone Cage is for people looking for a different experience than a regular hotel. The people are super helpful and courteous. Location is beautiful and room is very comfortable. Special mention to the focus on hygiene in the bathroom which was second to none.
