We had a lovely time at A Tanner's House, the breakfast was so good and the innkeepers catered to us

We had a lovely stay at A Tanner's Home, the rooms were clean and nice. The breakfast was lovely and the innkeepers are happy to help you in any way they can. They are very kind and breakfast was so yummy. We have dietary restrictions and our innkeeper made sure our breakfast was something we could eat, they are kind and accommodating.

Really nice people, but the place is not for us

The owners are really nice people. The breakfast was good too. The bed was comfortable and the neighbourhood was quiet at night. Also, Sebastian let us use his garage for our car which we really appreciate.

The room we got. The room it's not in the photos of the booking website so it got us by surprise what we got, it's in the basement, big but dark and the decorations in the wall makes you think more that you are in your uncle's basement. It was clean enough. Even when the neighbourhood is quiet and close to downtown we didn't feel secure as many people lurk around the place. Nevertheless, they were respectful and did nothing to us personally.

Lovely Bed and Breakfast. We highly recommend

Warm and welcoming owners. We arrived very late and they accommodated us nicely. Our room was clean and comfortable. The breakfast was delicious and freshly made. Eggs, home made bread, fruit, juice, coffee. All made to order. We enjoyed chatting with the owner and felt very appreciated for staying there.

A chain hotel couldn't compete for price, atmosphere and friendliness!

Very lovely bed and breakfast with delicious breakfast in nice location

Had a full apartment with 2 bedrooms. It was more than I needed but very nice. Chose to sleep in small bedroom with twin bed which was not all that comfortable---I am used to a Tempurpedic mattress so difficult to sleep on coil bed. Breakfast was great. Had lovely conversation with owner and other travelers. Location was convenient for walking around St John.

A beautiful house with welcoming hotes!

I wish we could have stayed longer. We were there just for one night. We were welcome by the two owners. The house is beautiful with architectural assets. The breakfast was very nice. We also had a lot of tourism advices from the owners. A great place to stay!

One of the best.

We liked, sorry loved, everything. This would have to one of the best places we have stayed in in many parts of the world. The nearest equivalent would be the homestays we had in Sri Lanka. The hosts are great people, friendly, chatty and willing to help in any way they can. If you need anything, please ask seems to be their by-line. The rooms are spacious and well appointed and everything you would expect to find is in there. Breakfast was included and it was delicious. It seems nothing was too much trouble for them.

The location was so close to downtown. It was really easy to walk everywhere. The house was a beautiful old building, lovingly maintained. The hosts were so friendly and helpful.

We had a lovely large room, but we found it dark. There wasn't enough lighting, and since we were there on some grey, rainy days, we would have liked some lights by the bed. Also, although we had lots of windows, we could only open one.

Very pleasant hosts. Well worth a stay.

Breakfast was awesome. Very well prepared and presented by the host.

The bedroom window that could open had the stay missing the pin part so could not stop the window from opening out fully. I was worried one could get out of bed and fall out the window from L2. I hope this is fixed by now as it really is an easy fix and would make it much safer as the bed is so close to the window.

Friendly hosts in an historical building in a perhaps transitional urban location near to center.

Hosts were on premises and friendly and helpful. Location was a few blocks off of a central business area with good restaurants. A good hot breakfast was provided -- though not an "English breakfast" as I think I read somewhere.

This second floor room had a private bathroom down the hall -- but the short walk was offset by the immense size of the bathroom and bath. American big city paranoia maybe, but we at least had a second thought about leaving any belongings in the street parked car at the location.

Excellent service in a historic landmark

An impressive old building above downtown Saint John. While the amenities are very good, the care provided by the owners was downright maternal and really made the stay memorable.

Home-made breakfast was great; owners very kind.

"Private bathroom" in this case meant down a few steps and along the corridor from our room.

Amazing breakfast with a good choice of meal! Plenty of different side dishes; no restrictions on quantities. I will rate it 10 of 10!

Superb

Everything was lovely! Our hosts were very friendly and helpful. There are 2 parks nearby and we had a delicious meal at Billy's Seafood market and restaurant. Things were very quiet as the summer season had not quite begun. It looks like there will be concerts and dancing in the park when it does. We look forward to returning!

We will not be staying there again.

Dorina is a superb host. The breakfast was delightful.

I would like to see a full description of each room offered. We expected,and paid for,a room with on suite facilities but on arrival was told these rooms were already occupied. We then had our washroom down the hall. This should be obvious at the time of booking. There is a rather disturbing poster in the hallway bathroom,which the hosts may want to reconsider.
