Peaceful, lovely getaway
The suite was extremely comfortable and well stocked with everything we needed. It was really helpful to have beach chairs and a cooler to use for excursions. The property is secluded and quiet, just what we were looking for. The spacious lanai had lovely views of the foliage and Haleakala.
nothing! it was great.

Exceptional
It is a very nice flat in a house with all facilities like washing machine, dish washer etc. The host provided additionally beach towels, beach chairs, cooling box and boogie boards at no costs which definitely enriched our beach experiences. Check in and out was very smooth and the host provided detailed informations on the facility and potential sights or facilities in the neighborhood. We would definitely come back.
There was really nothing that we didn’t like.

Very disappointing
We have spent 5 nights in the Bamboo Valley In. We have booked it only a few weeks ago so the best places (price and quality) were unfortunately already booked. It’s 5 years that we are travelling all over the world and we are kind of expert of choosing the best places and read all the comments to be sure about it. To talk first about the positive, it’s in the nature, well equipped (except for glasses), big, clean and they give some tea, coffee, cereals bars. Tom is very nice but being nice is maybe enough to have great comments but not to provide best quality services. We told him about the things to change in the house but he answered us that everyone till now are happy and that we should have done better research before. As he considers he has nothing to improve, we think it’s necessary to warn the people before they book that place. To let the comment we would have liked to read to avoid our bad experience in the Bamboo Valley In. If you like privacy, better to go in a resort. You will have to put your shoes downstairs with all the other apartment house (no allowed to get in your own apartment with your shoes). You will have to hear children shouting in the stairs/corridor. You will have to keep more than half of the windows of the living room down because it is open on collective places (the corridor and the big balcony with barbecue). You will hear the life of other people. If you like to sleep well, don’t go there. The mattress are too soft and probably very old. We sink into them as they have no support (particularly the one of the king room). First and second night I felt an increasing back pain (as did my friend who was in the other room). After 3 nights, when I woke up, my back was hurting so much and I could hardly move. I had to cancel a snorkling tour (100 dollars not reimbursed for sure) and decided to sleep on the floor for the last 2 nights. No refund from Tom for sure… Why will he? Everything is perfect for him!!!
More over, in the king bedroom, half of the windows have no curtains so you will wake up very very early… If you like to feel in your home when you book a place, don’t go there. We feel like in the army or at school or in a community. Indeed, there is stickers EVERYWHERE to give us information and tell us what we should do or not do. I guess every time a worrying guest or newbie traveler asked a question or did something wrong, Tom decided to put a sticker. So many stickers that you feel controlled. Don’t come with 2 couples. The 2 couple-bedrooms are very very different. One is very big with king bed! The other is smaller with no air conditioning and a smaller bed. Actually, it’s not really a bed, it’s a sofa bed (better not to be 2 persons) If you think you can rely on what's written on booking.com, don"t. Saying it’s a"not high speed internet" is far from the true reality. Morning and evening you have half of the time NO INTERNET at all. Impossible to make a call. Probably too many guests for a weak wifi. After 10am, it’s getting better. But who wants to wait at home till 10am when you are in beautiful Maui. Last evening we had a letter from Tom under our door. Another way to remind us we had to leave at 10am (in booking.com it’s written we can check out till 11am…), to have the dishes washed, to put the garbage outside… We were so pleased to discover in that letter that luckily… we don’t have to strip beds and wash linens/ towels… I don’t think this letter was a joke…. My friend asked me to add that the fridge ice machine and the bathroom spa also don’t work. But don’t worry, there is a sticker Hope all this information will help you, dear travelers, to discern if this place is the good one for you. Maybe, Tom will eventually take my comments into account to improve the services for the next travellers (and give us a partial refund for all the inconveniences).

Exceptional
We were amazed about the size of the apartment. It's huge. We had everything we needed. We liked that we could take a cooler and a boogie board and that beach towels are available. The home is in a wonderful secluded location with a great view of the forest, where you hear countless of birds in the morning and see countless of stars at night.
It's a bit away from popular places like Wailea and Lahaina, but it's not too bad, about a 45 minute drive. But then again, it's a lot closer to the road to Hana, and it's an easy drive to Mama's Fish House - which by the way, is a wonderful place to eat.
