The property was beautiful. High quality decor in the bedroom with an open plan dining kitchen and a hot tub was available in the enclosed garden. Tea coffee and water were plentiful and there were cereals and pastries with fresh fruit as well as a delicious full English breakfast. Our hosts greeted us with Devon cream scones which was a nice touch. Becky and Steve were perfect hosts, very interesting and easy to talk to and knowledgable about the area. We would highly recommend Tawburn House and would definitely return if in the area again.

It is a beautiful property, the rooms have a lovely decor, with top notch furnishings. The bed and bedding was extremely comfortable. All immaculately clean and tidy. The hosts Becky and Steve, are a delightful couple and extremely helpful. Breakfast is absolutely gorgeous.

Becky and Steve are incredible hosts and made my daughter and I feel extremely welcome. Nothing was too much effort for them, bending over backwards to make our stay as comfortable as possible. The house is spotlessly clean and beautifully furnished. The food is scrumptious and fresh. Hot tub and sauna are a luxurious touch, as are the robe and slippers provided for your stay.

Steve, Becky and Paddy are possibly the best hosts in the world, they have a beautiful house, are super kind and thoughtful people who make a stay effortless and unforgettable, the rooms are gorgeous, the food is gorgeous, the location js gorgeous. It’s just perfect!

Breakfast was excellent with many choices. The village is now a backwater from the A30, but with a strong community and excellent local pub to drink and eat in, used by locals including our hosts. We were very glad to have found this place for a two night stay, and worth the price.

Steve and Becky are brilliant hosts - a mix of super-welcoming and super-professional. The breakfasts were utterly delicious - top quality ingredients, elegantly presented with relaxed efficiency. The bed was one of the very best I've ever slept in - exceptionally supportive, comfortable, generous - with beautiful bed linen to match. The house and its internal doors are remarkably solid (as well as being in superb decorative order), which meant I never heard a sound from the adjoining bedrooms. The thoughtfulness and attention to detail to ensure the comfort and pleasure of guests is just outstanding.
In an ideal world, the water pressure in the shower would be stronger. Also it would be great to have a larger bath towel - I was glad it was just me and not my 6'2" partner! - but I'm sure if I'd asked, one would have been offered.

Could not fault this B&B whatsoever. Becky, Steve and Paddy were wonderful hosts and could open a cafe with the breakfasts they provided! The hot tub and Sauna were a lovely touch and we were even offered canapes in the hot tub! This was our first trip away with our rescue dogs and they were welcomed warmly and loved to roam around the garden. They even got a sausage to share at breakfast! We came here for my husband's birthday and the hosts kindly gave him a card and brought out a cake, it was so thoughtful and made it just a little more special. The room as well as the rest of the property was immaculate and the bed was cosy. Great soundproofing in the rooms as didn't hear a peep. I will be raving about this place for a while to come and have already recommended it to friends and family - especially those with dogs.
The only thing we didn't like was leaving! I honestly cannot think of a bad word to say about this property. Please do come here!

Very homely property which is a perfect base for exploring Dartmoor. The hottub and sauna are a great touch to unwind in and the little village of Sticklepath is lovely too with a great local pub.

welcoming , homely, clean, facilities were great , owners are so wonderful. these guys even had a birthday cake for my fiancé on arrival ( which they bought) and decorated the room with banners and balloons I had sent before our stay ❤️ , the breakfast is superb with plenty of choice and can be enjoyed without feeling you have to rush it .…… these guys don’t have to try to go above and beyond to make a stay pleasurable as it just comes natural to them … thank you x

Tawburn House is a fantastic BnB hosted by the amazing Becky and Steve. They were brilliant hosts and couldn't have done more to make our stay better. The delicious breakfasts were made to order and they ensured my wife had a Gluten Free option which she was very happy with. They are also very pet friendly and didn't mind us bringing our two large dogs which is a huge bonus (especially as we have a rather boisterous young Golden Retriever).
There is a hot tub and sauna available for use by the guests which was great after a long day walking out on the moors, and also a snug/tv room and a bath.
The location is a beautiful little village on the edge of Dartmoor which is a perfect spot for those who like walking holidays (10 min walk and you're up on the moor). There is also a pub in the village (stumbling distance from the front door) that does great food, and there are several options for takeaway from the local town of Okehampton (about 10 mins drive away).
Becky and Steve clearly care a lot about the quality of service they offer and it certainly tells. It is no exaggeration to say that this was our best UK BnB stay ever! It was exactly what we were looking for and we will certainly be back for more Dartmoor adventures.

Great location with village pubs and shops and neighbouring village in short walking distance. Hosts make every effort to ensure guests enjoy their stay and make the most of the surrounding area. Breakfast is superb and would put many hotels and restaurants to shame. Bathrooms are particularly nice. Hot tub and garden are in a nice private setting. It does all actually resemble the photos unlike other places we have stayed.

From start to finish we had a lovely time at Tawburn House. Steve and Becky spoiled us with scones, cream and jam (surprisingly the Cornish way!!), canapes and wonderful breakfasts. We relaxed in the garden and enjoyed the hot tub. Our room was very clean and the bed was comfy. We were made to feel very welcome, especially by Paddy the little dog! The pub a few yards away was good value and great food.

Steve and Becky are perfect hosts. The cooked breakfast to your requirements was excellent. Dipping into the hot tub and and the sauna after a long walk up on the moors was the perfect way to end a great day of walking. Home cooked piazzas using their pizza oven was another great way to end the day. The Taws inn down the road is also a great place to eat and drink. Paddy was a great source of entertainment.

Our room is we clean, modern and spacious with a very nice up to date bathroom and shower en-suite. Coffee and tea making facilities were included as well as a welcome treat of scones with clotted cream for my wife and a gluten-free flapjack for me.
Steve and Becky were wonderful hosts and served an exceptionally good breakfast cooked to order each morning. They took great care to ensure my celiac needs were taken care of. They really went above and beyond to ensure our stay was perfect. My only regret was not packing swim trunks to enjoy their hot tub.
The only gripe, and it’s minor, is we would have liked more water pressure in the shower.

Steve and Becky are brilliant and were very welcoming. They sent great information even before we arrived to ensure we had the best time - and we did! Every attention to detail in a perfectly cosy, beautifully appointed, and spotless room. We felt spoilt and so well looked after, breakfast was sheer perfection and kept us going all day! Beautiful building. Spacious, clean and tidy rooms with en-suit bathroom. Tea making facilities, coffee machine in room with endless supplies of water, sugar and tea bags. Large TV with Netflix option! Bed was sooo comfy! Robes, towel and slippers provided for the hot tub and sauna. Amazing cooked breakfast with multiple options to choose from.

The house, rooms and facilities were all immaculate. Hosts are friendly, relaxed, welcoming and helpful. We brought a very young, high-energy dog on his first trip away from home with us—the hosts treated him like one of their own! The sauna is a special treat and the shared bathroom is private and luxurious. Couldn’t have asked for a better experience. Thank you so much for the stay and your wonderful hospitality!
