Zeer teleurstellend

Goede wifi maar weinig gebruik van kunnen maken vanwege stroomstoring in de wijk. Leuk zitje in de tuin met bar.

Helaas had de eigenaar het beheer van het guesthouse over gelaten aan een meisje dat geen Engels sprak en waar tijdens ons hele verblijf nog geen lachje vanaf kon. We hebben ons zelden zo ongemakkelijk en niet welkom gevoeld. Door de communicatie problemen kregen we minder en ander eten dan we hadden besteld en stond onze safari gids een hele poos onnodig voor de deur op ons te wachten. De kamer was ook bij daglicht erg donker Sanitair verouderd. Karig ontbijt.

A hidden gem, that lacks hospitality

It is a cozy place..

Lacks basics, the bed comfort is not good, constant disturbance from cars coming in and going, honking etc

Exceptional

Perfect place to stay in Arusha close to the center but away from the noise. Super friendly staff and very attentive. All the decoration, every detail in the room and bathroom, everything very fresh, very clean, organized and comfort. Shower with good pressure and hot water. Wonderful food, super tasty. Pleasant atmosphere, very familiar, we breathe peace. The house has a amazing dog that is super loving and playful. Well-kept garden with perfect corners to rest and enjoy the sun or a late afternoon with a drink.

Impossible not to like, you feeling home.

Pleasant

A nice B&B, cute design and set up and friendly and helpful staff. Two nice and friendly dogs around the premises and in a quaint street.

Quite far from the centre of town, with difficult pick ups to be arranged when there is no electricity / WiFi (blackouts of course not the fault of the hosts, but still inconvenient). We had two quite noisy nights and mornings, not the best sleeps we had. Water temperature was lukewarm at best. Room was nice, but overall didn’t meet the high expectations given the very high ratings.

Amazing B&B in Arusha

Great place to stay ! The room was big and really well decorated, with attention to details. The staff was very welcoming and the breakfast was delicious. We really enjoyed our stay.

Exceptional

Very friendly binding relaxed guesthouse mit really nice persons inside. I can ask for all what I need and they help me to get it. This area in Arusha Town is very fine, nice houses less traffic and green gardens. They have only four, but really nice rooms.

Stylish accommodation in quiet area

nice style, very calm and great food (breakfast and dinner). Host and staff is very welcoming and super helpful with everything. definitely outside town so you have to take a taxi to see things but no problem.

I didn't get the room I booked but Chris was kind enough to provide a good alternative.

Exceptionally cozy guest house

Right upon arrival, we felt like home thanks to the outstandingly friendly and helpful staff. Gladi, Ibra and Grace did an amazing job! Sitting in the beautiful garden makes you feel like in paradise. The breakfast has everything you need and was very tasty.

The only thing that might need improvement is the mattress in the master sleeping room. It was a bit too soft for my taste and not the highest quality.

Cozy and friendly BnB in Arusha

Very cute and comfortable place to stay. The showers were warm and we loved the backyard where the staff built a fire one night. We appreciated the breakfast options, especially the good coffee. We also loved meeting Simba and Zazu, the sweet dogs they have at the house. Many nice touches and beautiful decor.

Cute home stay before safari

A cute home for a night stay right before safari. The Tanzanian ladies staying at the home were really friendly and kind. They prepared a homemade, fresh, delicious dinner and breakfast. The rooms were clean and comfortable with mosquito nets. The home itself is in a quiet neighbourhood, and although we slept with the windows open we had a peaceful nights sleep because there was absolutely no noise. The home has a garden and a small bar and you can sit outside in the cool evening, by a small fire and enjoy the night sky listening to the crickets.

Very cozy place, nice rooms and common areas - and very friendly and helpful staff. Breakfast is great and they also offer home made dinner.

Felt like home in Utamaduni House :)

We had a very nice stay in Utamaduni House. It is a beautiful place away from the feisty city of Arusha. The house is fournitured with much love in detail and has a beautiful garden as well. all people working there were very friendly and made us feel home.

Would like to come for a re-visit next time in Arusha

Good atmosphere and friendly staff. Beautiful decoration and design both inside and outside. Best breakfast so far in Tanzania. Original plan was to stay one night, but we ended up staying 3 nights.

great location, super sweet people!

The people are very nice and helpfull, super breakfast and the room (w. private bathroom) is really nice and well decorated. We stayed after safari and to take the flight to Zanzibar next morning with a 30 minute distance from Arusha airport makes this an excellent stay!! Boyfriend was also really happy with the playstation 😉

Utamaduni has definitely now become my favourite place to stay in Arusha. Chris and his staff are amazing hosts. The dogs are lovely (coming from a person who is generally afraid of dogs :)

The staff are great, the breakfast was good.

The staff are great, the breakfast was good, but the rooms are not private in the sense that everyone can hear everything. In order to have hot water, you need to turn on the heater, and wait at least half an hour, after which you will have about 1 minute of hot shower. So in order to have more than a minute long shower, you need to turn on the heater and wait at least an hour. The beds are quite short, so if you are more than 6 ft tall, your legs will hang over the end. I also found it rather strange that there is an extra charge for drinking water each day. It seems strange to charge $50 a night for a room and then another dollar for water to drink.

Clean, comfortable, and the most welcoming place to call home for a few days!

Utamaduni is the cutest home tucked away in a beautiful garden area. It is very clean with comfy beds and the most welcoming staff (and dogs!!). We stayed here before and after our safari and we loved it. Close to the Njiro Complex that had the best Indian food and easy access to town with local transportation. They helped book us taxis to and from airports that were on time and good prices. The staff was wonderful and made a nice breakfast for us each morning. We will be back!

An Oasis in Arusha

Perfect location for us. away from the noise , the dust and busy streets. Utamaduni House is a little oasis. We stayed for 4 nights in total. two before going on a safari and 2 after. Simone is a great host and she makes you feel at home. Always ready to help with anything you need. The two girls that work here are lovey and just amazing at their job. They are very sweet and they know how to cook. Dinner was amazing and breakfasts were the best we had in Tanzania. The place itself is spotless, modern and beautifully decorated. The bed and pillows are comfortable and the rooms are spacious. We had a shared bathroom and it was perfect. If you are in Arusha, do yourself a favour and stay here. The house is not in the centre but if you treasure peace and quiet, this is the place.

Superb

She is Danish. He is Tanzanian. And their hotel perfectly reflects their couple. The decoration is a perfect match between the danish hygge and African vibes. It is very clean. Breakfast and Dinner are terribly delicious (probably the best I had in Tanzania)

Only downturn, the hotel is 15min drive from the city centre. But honestly, you can easily find cabs on InDriver, it is not so expensive and you are therefore in a silent and peaceful part of town.
