Correcte si on est avertie

La literie, la serviabilité du personnel, le charme de la maison.

La vue mer est nulle, même dans la Pier suite. Drole de bruit dans la nuit dans le “ grenier“ surement des animaux nocturnes! Les tapis et canapés pas propres.Le petit déjeuner et surtout le café. L‘emplacement pour le petit déjeuner n‘est pas prévu pour plus plusieurs clients en même temps.

Nice little boutique hotel in historic building, full of charm, early XX century atmospphere, great location in Venice, close to the beach shopping and restaurants. Very helpfull staff. Be carefull selecting rooms as some of them have shared bathroom.

Historic place to stay close to the beach

The breakfast was excellent! Everything tasted very fresh. We were able to choose from chia seed pudding, hard boiled eggs, coffee cakes, berries, snack cheese, and pastries like croissants when they were able to get a fresh order. Loved that it was a historic house and that there were still places other than our room to hang out and lounge. They also had limited parking for guests which we definitely used. Everyone who worked there was extremely kind and helpful.

We loved that it was an old, historic house! We heard lots of noises (water rushing through the pipes for showers, honking and road noise, footsteps from other guests) but some of that is to be expected. The hotel provided us with earplugs to help with that. I didn’t expect that we would have minimal natural light in our room (I love natural light and often don’t get that at home). I find it difficult to get dressed and lay out makeup etc when I don’t have decent natural light. Also, the room didn’t have sufficient blinds, only some curtains that looked a bit thin. I felt like people in the neighboring balcony could easily look in to our room while our curtains were closed. There was a moment where I did feel like someone on the neighboring balcony saw me while getting dressed and ready for an event, which made me uncomfortable. He was directly facing our window.

This hotel was really fantastic :-)!!! Very cosy inside, nice garden, quiet place, nice helpful personnel and very close to the ocean.

We liked everything in there.

Lovely

Breakfast was a light touch but the staff were so great and the venue was old and unique.

For the price we didn’t expect to share a bathroom however the layout of the original venue precludes individual bathrooms and it was not really a problem.

Superb

The house is an historic building from the early 20th century, it’s welcoming, taken care of and really well arranged, both on the inside and the outside. The room (ours had the private bathroom) was big and homely, with all the needed amenities. The location is perfect, just a few steps away from Venice beach.

Breakfast could be richer, with a little bit more options. Staff was present and friendly at check-in and during breakfast but pretty absent the rest of the time.

Great garden oasis within busy Venice Beach. Grounds and hotel nicely kept.

Location was great. Close to the beach ad very walkable to Abbott Kinney. Breakfast was good, fresh pastries, fruit, yogurt and awesome jam. Staff very friendly!

Can’t fault this lovely boutique hotel in the perfect location, surrounded by a peaceful pretty garden, with the beach just across the road, welcoming staff, very comfortable bed and excellent breakfast. Feels like home. We will be back.

Lovely property, friendly staff, great location.

Came back for a second stay, again a beautiful room. Nice breakfast provided (don't expect a massive spread though), super friendly staff. Excellent location.

Sound insulation is lacking, but it is an old building so what can you expect. Ear plugs provided, so not that dramatic, put those in and have a good nights sleep.

The setting, history, location, attention to design detail were on point. First impressions did not disappoint. The whole place looks like it's lifted out of an edition of kin folk. Its gorgeous. There's a red photo album in the lounge with old photos of the house and you can see how fantastic a job the designer has done whilst respecting the spirit of the house. Breakfast was a limited selection but delicious and all you need. I loved being able to read my book with the record player on. The toiletries were lovely. It was very peaceful and relaxed in the day time. Cannot fault the location. Hidden, but literally steps away from the beach and pier, and round the corner from a small strip of decent shops, bars and restaurants.

It's worth noting that this is a very old house, thoughtfully renovated and so the construction of the original internal walls are v thin and don't offer much in terms of acoustic privacy. I treated myself to an upgraded room, which I had, and was beautiful.However, it was the only room downstairs next to the entrance and underneath a shared bedroom. So quiet it is most definitely not. The comings and goings through reception were just white noise to me and a welcome addition to the otherwise near silence. However, I was kept awake all night by what sounded like a herd of restless elephants above. No one on site overnight to tell. It's the only reason I have rated the stay as good and not exceptional. I think people should be made aware that the Olympic suite is potentially not going to offer you a peaceful nights sleep - if you don't mind that - it's a beautiful and comfortable room.

definitely would stay again but make sure you have your own bathroom in your room.

Beautiful building great location it felt like an oasis.

The staff never once cleaned our bathroom which was detached from our room. It was kind of gross.

Honestly this was our very best stay on holidays/working trips ever. I mean ever ever! Since booking until checking out everything was just amazing and its hard to describe in words. Historical house has an amazing magic that you can only feel once you are in it. We stayed at Olympic suite. For me as former olympian the history of this building and specially this room had a very special feel and I am so happy for this experience. The location is hard to beat - literally 20steps from the Venice beach and yet very quiet both during the day and night. Breakfasts are top quality, bed, sheets, towels, amenities and design details through the room and whole buildings are just at the very very top. Specially the bad, pillows and sheets were literally the best we ever experienced and we have been to hundreds high-end places on all continents. James from the reception was amazing, helped us every day with amazing recommendations of places where to eat, what to see, where and how to get there, etc. We forgot glasses and shorts in the room and it has been send to us by fedex the very same day. Will definitely come back and spend more time there. If this place is fit for your budget, do not think about any other place to stay. You will not regret, I promise.
