Lakefront/View Log Cabin--Open Flow, Large Deck, Sunset Views

About this cabin rental

Located in Big Bear, this charming cabin for $679 per night is a fantastic option for your next break. Refurbished lakefront/view log cabin sleeps 14 (up to 8 adults). 2801 square feet. LC 20160161 We bought and refurbished “Fishing Bear” in 2015 to be just right for our family and guests. Look out from the gourmet kitchen, over the log countertop island, across the 12 person dining area, through the comfy leather couches surrounding the fireplace, to the deck, play area, lake and park. The layout with log construction, hand scraped wood floors, high ceilings and large windows oriented towards the lake and park will draw your family and friends together in a relaxed and comfortable atmosphere. Enjoy sunset views over the lake, observatory, and mountains beyond. See lighted ski slopes from the back deck and front yard. Relax on the up and downstairs decks spanning the back of the house. Upstairs is a small table with chairs for reading or taking in the quiet and view (or perhaps a baseball game when in season). The lower deck has a table and umbrella, as well as a barbeque grill and spa. Pair your device with the sound system for tunes outside. Relax in the 110 jet, 7 person hot tub during a snowstorm or staring at the bright stars above. Enjoy peace and quiet on the front porch and front and side courtyards. Watch blue jays, squirrels, woodpeckers and birds of prey all around. Listen and relax while the kids play. Both decks sit over the backyard play area. Your kids will keep busy in their “fort” with slides and swings set in rubber mulch, or on the vintage pinball machine, or in the playroom upstairs with Thomas Train sets, cars and a coloring table with butcher block paper provided. Make popcorn and have movie night upstairs with the 65-inch 4K TV with 5.1 surround. Use our Apple movie library, or Netflix, Amazon Prime or Cable. Watch movies in private from the downstairs master with the cast iron gas stove blazing and a 4K 50-inch TV with a 3.1 surround. Better yet, enjoy a roaring wood fire in the family room where there is no TV, and a cabinet filled with cards and games. Cook for the group in the kitchen with the 36-inch commercial oven (4 burners and stainless electric grill), two counters with separate sinks, large pantry and refrigerator, and high quality pots, pans, small appliances and utensils. Notice the quiet of the radiant heating that provides comfortable warmth with no hot or cold drafts, and the solar array that produces all the power we need and more. Sink into the soft carpet upstairs. Sleep well with new bedding, pillows and mattresses or memory toppers on each bed. There are 4 rooms with 9 beds so there is plenty of space. There also are a 2 pac n plays and an extra mattress under the downstairs master bed for parents who want toddlers to sleep on the ground in the room with them. In the summer and fall, pick blackberries, grapes, apples and other fruits from the well-lighted and sculpted grounds with wide paths and paver courtyards and walkways. Our manager, Jesse, meets guests to check them in, show them around, and make sure they understand the house and city rules. There is firewood provided on site with gas lighting so you don’t have to waste precious vacation time loading firewood in your car or struggling to get it lit. Hot tub use is prohibited from 10pm until 10am. Outside music and speakers or any amplified sound is not permitted. Please only play music or amplified sound inside pursuant to city restrictions. (Note that although water abuts the property when the lake is full, due to the low lake level and shallow area behind the home, the lake is far away (200 yards + or -). The maximum is 8 adult guests with no restriction on children under 18 and a maximum of 4 cars. Please do not pack more than this.) Have fun and don’t hesitate to ask questions.
