Nestled in Idyllwild-Pine Cove, this lovely cabin for $161 per night is a great choice for your next trip. Welcome to "Cozy Oaks Cabin" in scenic Idyllwild-Pine Cove California! Originally built in 1942 as a hunting cabin, it sits high on a ridge (6340 feet elevation) in the San Jacinto Mountains. Nestled amongst majestic old oaks, towering pines, and distinctive manzanita the cabin is light and bright with morning and afternoon sunlight, evening sunsets, and amazing star-filled nights. Just a 5 minute scenic drive to the Village of Idyllwild, it is conveniently located off a paved, county maintained road, with a circular driveway. Whether you are looking for a romantic getaway or a peaceful escape for two, come relax and unwind at Cozy Oaks Cabin. Inside, the cabin is quaint and cozy. It has modern amenities for your convenience, while preserving the rustic and vintage charm. This includes the original front door, knotty pine walls, log beams, as well as restored wood floors. It has quality furnishings, including antiques and vintage decor, with many lighting options inside and out. The kitchen is fully equipped and includes a coffee bar with a coffee maker, grinder, and single serve K-Cup brewer. Starbucks coffee beans and K-Cups are provided. Dishes, pots, pans, spices, and other useful items are provided, along with a dishwasher, microwave, stove, and washer/dryer. The living room is open and a great place to sit back and relax while watching the 50 inch HDTV with surround sound. There is a premium cable package, Netflix, and a DVD player for your entertainment options. Wi-fi and high speed internet are also provided. Curl up on the comfortable leather couch and enjoy the wood burning stove during the colder months. The bedroom is cozy with a comfortable queen size bed that has a new premium mattress, memory foam topper, and 650 thread count cotton sheets. The bathroom has a tub/shower combo with a granite topped vanity. A recirc pump provides instant hot water in the sink and shower. Towels, shampoo, conditioner, body wash, and a blow dryer are provided. Outside there is a large front deck, side patio, and gas grill, on a spacious lot with several seating areas to enjoy the peaceful setting. Perfect for your morning coffee or enjoying a nice glass of wine. Relax on the hammock for two while watching a variety of birds, bushy tailed gray squirrels, and listening to the whispering breezes through the towering trees. Be sure to take a short walk to Pine Cove Park for spectacular giant boulders and distant valley views, including Diamond Valley Lake. Bring the chairs provided to relax and enjoy the amazing sunsets. For those who enjoy hiking, head up the road from the cabin to the top of the ridge for awesome views of Lily Rock, dense forest, and distant views of Mt Palomar and beyond. Continue on and make a loop back to the cabin through the beautiful forest. If you hike at any of the marked trail head areas, the Adventure Pass is provided for free parking. There are really no words that can adequately sum up how much we loved this place!!! The pictures don't do the place justice. It was warm, rustic, cozy and simply perfect! There were so many little, considerate touches that made our stay wonderful: The fully stocked coffee bar, the labels to help us navigate things around the cabin to help us work things like the pot belly stove. Speaking of fully stocked, Oh My Goodness! We could tell that the pantry was stocked by someone who cooks. There were all the spices we could possibly need. But, the best part of everything was the personal welcome sign and gift.
Mike was the most gracious host we've had the pleasure of staying with in our Vrbo history. He was very communicative and accommodating. Hopefully, we'll get a chance to stay at this fantastic property again!

This place is dreamy!! It is incredibly clean and well cared for and we felt so lucky to get to spend the weekend! And the hosts are truly amazing! They are so thoughtful and put extra special little touches everywhere. We will be back!

We loved staying at Cozy Oaks. The hosts thought of everything to make the stay comfortable and wonderful, which made it feel so special. Cabin was clean and even smelled nice. Lots of wildlife to see out the windows. Birds, squirrels, and we watched a bobcat walk right by the cabin! Next time we visit Idyllwild, we absolutely want to stay at Cozy Oaks again.

The cabin exceeded all our expectations and more! Mike and Sue thoughtfully left all the necessary information in the cabin, so we didn't even need to reach out to them. The abundance of antiques added a fun and charming touch to the place. The amenities, such as the well-stocked coffee bar, were incredibly generous. The queen bed was firm yet inviting, with fluffy pillows to make it even more comfortable. Exploring the various outdoor areas was a delight, and the swing hanging from a tree branch made me feel like a carefree child again. The added bonus of having feed for the birds and squirrels made our stay extra special. Needless to say, we will definitely be returning in the future.

Blue jays, woodpeckers, doves, quail, squirrels and chipmunks abound just outside the back porch. Take your coffee and enjoy the show as a lovely way to start the day. They are so used to people they aren't shy and the jays will take peanuts right off the arm of your chair. The cabin is charming and the hosts gracious.

Where to begin... arriving at Cozy Oaks I immediately felt cared for and welcomed. Lights were on, a sweet personalized message welcoming me, chocolates by the bed, stocked coffee bar, and literally every comfort anticipated - THIS is true hospitality. I have stayed at $2k a night rooms that don't achieve this level of personal attention! The decor of the cabin is straight out of a coffee table book... the vintage details all beautifully chosen. The location is not only convenient to town, but a lovely corner lot with plenty of space to sit under the oaks AND thriving with wildlife... the hosts include squirrel and bird feed which I used daily, then I either took a morning swing or afternoon nap on the hammock - so soothing! The kitchen is fully appointed with everything you'd need to cook and entertain... all practically new and CLEAN. I really noticed how CLEAN and well cared for everything was, the space, the upholstery, the bathroom, everything. Plus everything works - I didn't touch anything that didn't work perfectly. But most importantly, Mike and Sue are extremely responsive and incredibly gracious - every need met (if not already anticipated and provided), every text responded to. I want them to adopt me. I'm already planning my next stay - TEN STARS!

The cabin was a great setting for a mountain getaway. Mike and Sue were very helpful in answering questions before and during our stay. The cabin is charmingly furnished; a personal touch and consistent esthetic are evident throughout. Everything was exceptionally well organized, with very clear instructions and labels, and helpful suggestions for local hikes and restaurants. It was very relaxing to lounge on the two-person hammock while watching the birds flit around and looking up into the branches of a magnificent oak.

Owners have great communication, so many personal touches that make this cabin a great stay. This cabin is well taken care of and you can tell they have guest's comfort in mind. Love seeing the wildlife a lot of stellar jays, squirrels, and even deer came through the yard. We will definitely be back again.

Mike & Sure made this stay amazing as we were not expecting to be coming into a weekend of a lot of snow. They provided guidance and tips to travel safely as we were not used to driving in snow. The cabin was beautiful and homey, with really cool antique decorations. We would definitely recommend this place, and would love to stay again soon.

Mike and Sue were GREAT hostesses!! This getaway cabin has everything you need for a relaxing vacation. The description of the property does not do it justice – it was better than described.
There is a well-stocked grocery store only about 3 miles away in the middle of the Village, in case you have forgotten anything.

Mike and Sue had everything one would ever need to accommodate. They thought of everything and then some. We really enjoyed the history and all the artifacts, furniture and cleanliness of the cabin. Really, we really did not reserve enough time to enjoy it all.

Mike and Sue were wonderful hosts. They communicated well in advance of our stay....and keep in touch weeks prior to ensure all was in place prior to our arrival. Cozy cabin is beautifully decorated with antiques and furniture that make the space feel like you are in someones home rather than a weekend rental. All the little touches were included for comfort, including a fully stocked kitchen and fun coffee bar We were welcomed with a personal note on the chalkboard, and enjoyed the backyard birds and squirrels in a peaceful and relaxing backyard. My husband and I both said that Cozy Cabin is the NICEST VRBO property we have had the opportunity to spend a weekend enjoying.....we look forward to visiting again!

This little place is ideal for a couple looking to get away. The ad for the place couldn't have been more accurate. But what really impressed us was the thoughtful amenities all throughout the place; personalized welcome sign, two styles of coffee makers fully stocked with different flavors, the kitchen had everything you could ask for as did the bathroom. And if you need a 'fix' of the 21st century, the Internet access, TV and surround sound was terrific. Everything indoors was clean, cozy and beautifully appointed.
Then, outside, they provided squirrel and bird food, (we found feeding the critters highly entertaining), outdoor Adirondack seating areas, the front deck, a hammock, a tree swing... all clean and well maintained. Also, the automated indoor and outdoor lighting was really a nice touch.
Lastly, the owners/managers were timely and easy to communicate with via email and text from initial reservation through to check out. We'll definitely be back!

There are so many comfortable places to relax outdoors and being that it is the mountains they have thought of everything and provided a rag with goo gone to wipe off the areas that have sap to protect your clothes and to keep from tracking it in. The swing was my favorite place to sit and watch the birds and the squirrels. The house fan kept the cabin surprisingly cool. It was always very comfortable. We definitely would love to come back and experience the other seasons at Cozy Oaks and explore the parts of Idyllwild we didn’t get around to this trip. Cozy Oaks helped make my 50th birthday AMAZING!!!

Mike and Sue's transformation seamlessly melds form, function and artistry while retaining the historical essence of the property. Everywhere you look (though nothing seems cluttered or twee) there are period antiques displayed in the most appropriate and historically functional manner. Then, in a very unobtrusive way, everything has been updated to the modern conveniences we all expect in 2022. The television/sound system - are beautifully integrated in a minimalist way - with highly detailed instructions on how to use them (something sadly missing from many VRBO's)! Regarding the detailed instructions, it was the same for the woodstove, (and everything else) down to how to feed the myriad wild birds outside (there was so much wildlife we began to feel a bit like we were in a Disney movie!). Beyond this, the bed was extremely comfortable - great sheets/pillows, and included a heated mattress pad (who knew?) that you could turn of if desired. The bathroom, while small, was also expertly appointed (and tastefully decorated - loved the antique-look hardware) and even included an extra toothbrush (and other toiletries) in case one had forgotten something. One final comment, during our 3 day stay, there was nothing we wanted for, it was as though Mike and Sue had anticipated everything a traveler might ever want/need and when one stretched out one's arm, almost magically, there it was!
It was truly the best VRBO experience I've had - and we are hoping to be able to return to what is indeed a very "Cozy Cabin" sometime soon!

This was our second of hopefully many future trips to cozy oaks. Mike and Sue are so thoughtful and kind and their attention to detail. It’s the perfect place for us and we cannot wait to come back; and next time we won’t wait as long in between visits.
