Where to begin. Our experience in the Porkies and especially this amazing cabin was exceptional. Our cabin was perfect. Our hosts thought of everything to make for a great stay. The location was quiet and private. We enjoyed sitting on the porch and also enjoying a bonfire. The house was so clean and well equipped

We visited several waterfalls throughout the U.P. along with Porcupine Mountain and fall colors. The cabin was far better than we thought it would be and beat any hotel stay hands down. Would definitely recommend this place!

This cabin is immaculate and the attention to detail was incredible! It was clean, cozy, and perfect for our three day getaway. The location was easy to find and right across the road from the lake. We loved sitting on the covered porch and listening to the waves. Although this is strictly a personal preference, we did find the beds a bit hard for our liking. We prefer plush beds and these were firm. However, this would not shy us away from staying here again. We absolutely loved this cabin and the communication with the owners was fantastic! Thank you!

This is the perfect location for an Upper Peninsula vacation. Very nicely decorated, clean, and spacious lodge within a short distance to many wonderful things to do to keep you occupied.

The house is perfectly located near everything yet far enough away in a peaceful setting. The house is adorably decorated, very clean and well maintained. Everything you need can be found inside. An added bonus-There were constant hummingbirds outside the windows!

I will definitely be staying here again! Property was well stocked, clean, and comfortable. Access was easy. Hosts were polite and communicative. It was easy to find, and well positioned for easy travel by car to the Park and to the nearby town.

Had a great time enjoying the porcupine mountains (snowboarding & hiking). Great cottage close to the ski area and access to the lake is close as well. The internet was a bit slow and at times spotty. Overall we had a great little vacation with our daughter. Thank you!

This is the second time we've stayed at Rainbow Lodging and we will continue to go back! The cabin is super clean and cozy, and Matt and Brandi put a great deal of attention into making it perfect. The location is great, about 5 minutes from the Porcupine Mountain Winter Sports Complex, where we spent time skiing and snowshoeing. It's right across the road from Lake Superior, which is also beautiful. There is everything you need at the cabin, and Brandi and Matt are both so friendly and accommodating. The perfect stay!

Across the street is Lake. Cabin offers excellent views. Abundant wildlife and great for birding. Spotted 3 bald eagles. Beach about 5 minutes away. Porcupine Mountain and ski area 10 minutes Really an amazing location. Cabin could not have been more perfect.

The cabin was spotless, everything anyone would need was within our grasp. The location and side patios with grills were our favorite spot. We would not hesitate to stay with them again. Centrally located to Lake of the Clouds and a road trip to Copper Harbor and Eagle Bay.

My husband and I really enjoyed our stay in the UP this year. The cabin we stayed in was the perfect size for a week getaway. It was super clean, tastefully decorated, and had a wonderful homey feel. Matt and Brandi are excellent hosts. They have thought of all the amenities you would need and then some! The location of the cabin is great. It’s only a short drive to the Porkies for hiking, rock hunting along the shoreline, or exploring the many waterfalls in the area. The Porkies Outpost is just down the road – good pizza and a nice gift shop. The village of Ontonagon is also nearby and has a rock shop called the Gitche Gumee that’s definitely worth checking out! After a long day of exploring, it was awesome to come back and relax in the comfy chairs on the cabin’s front porch, drink a few craft beers, cook dinner on the gas grill, and make s’mores over a campfire in the backyard. An outdoor evening in the UP puts your mind at ease and brings peace to your soul. We’re already looking forward to next year! :) Mark & Cassie Richards

I’m sad I only had 2 nights here because this was the best rental property I’ve stayed at in such a long time! Clean, comfy, and equipped with ALL the accommodations you could ask for. We fit 4 adults with plenty of room. This location was also perfect for visiting the porkies, and we could walk to the beach and pub & grill down the road.

Perfect getaway! Cabin was very clean and decorated well both inside and out. The fire pit and grill were ready to go. My family and dog qucikly felt comfortable and right at home. Owner communicated well and was very accommodating. Literally couldn't have been better for our short weekend of strolling Lake Superior's shores!

We loved our stay at the rainbow cabin. The cozy inside and the many places to sit outside made it a peaceful retreat while the easy proximity to the Porcupine Mountains and Lake Superior gave us the nature we needed. We also want to confirm what every other guest has said and that is that Brandi is an amazing host who is super responsive and doesn't miss a detail. We were lucky enough to meet her and can attest to how hard she works to ensure she is providing the highest quality vacation rental experience that one could ever imagine.

From the moment this vacation rental was secured, it seemed a perfect fit. The owners were super helpful answering questions and getting back to us promptly. There were no surprises upon arrival. Everything about the place was exactly how it was explained on the website. It was spot on perfect. If I could rate this place higher than a 5/5 stars, I would do so. Everything we could possibly need was included with the cabin. I’m not even sure I would call it a cabin. It was more like home! The washer and dryer included made it so easy, especially upon our departure, as we could go home with most of our laundry already done! All appliances were in excellent shape, (unlike many cabins in Upper Northern Michigan), as was the furniture and bed(s). Outside was equally well equipped with a large gas grill, plenty of chairs, a fire pit (wood included) as well as a picnic table. They even had central air which we didn’t need, but it was nice knowing we had it just in case. One of the main features this place had was the quiet. I’ve stayed in resorts before where there are multiple cabins and it’s a real crap shoot – how noisy the neighbors are. The only other cabin was right behind this one, separated by a privacy fence and you never heard much of anything from it. And, even though the property is on the main road leading into the Porkies in one direction and toward the city of Ontonagon the opposite direction, most of the time even that road had no one on it. It was truly a paradise of peace and quiet, coupled with the sound of the lapping waves of Lake Superior right across the street. If that wasn’t enough, you could also enjoy watching hummingbirds at the feeder through the kitchen window. We even had a doe and fawn visit during one of our campfires. The central location close to town, Porcupine Mountains and surrounding waterfalls made this the ideal base camp. We loved it. And we’ll be coming back next summer!
