Wonderful stay in Quito

Fantastic staff service. Great breakfast. Room was quiet and good size. Location was great between the basilica and main square. No question was too much.

Fantastic Hotel and Fantastic People!

I cannot say enough good things about this hotel. It is a former colonial home with large, beautiful rooms, a bright breakfast area with lots of beautiful plants, and the nicest and most helpful staff we’ve ever encountered. Karla was especially wonderful, explaining the history of the hotel and telling us about Ecuadorian history. She also explained the traditional breakfast items to us, which was very interesting. Byron answered all of my emails promptly and Juan stayed up late to welcome us after our middle of the night arrival. The shower was strong and the hot water was plentiful, the hotel and the rooms were immaculate. All of the staff we met were very kind and friendly. If you travel to Quito, stay here — you will be happy you did! We loved everything!

Beautiful

A beautiful historic building close to all of the sites of the historic city center. Wonderful, helpful and caring staff. Good breakfast. Comfortable bed. Quiet due to thick walls and good doors. Small, locally owned boutique hotel.

I like it to be cold when I sleep, and could not get my room cooled down despite the cold outside temperature. There was a fan in the room, but it was loud and didn't help much.

Cannot Recommend This Hotel

Second time we stayed at this hotel and once again our room was way too hot despite being on a different floor. The bed was very small and certainly not king-size as we had booked. We also tried to cancel one night of our stay as our apartment back home was flooded, but received zero understanding or empathy from the staff regarding this issue. For full transparency, we did book the 3 nights as non-refundable, but I was hoping for a little bit of understanding.

Not That Great

The location of the hotel was great and we had a warm welcome. Strong WIFI signal and solid breakfast. We also booked two tours with the hotel and both driver / guide were excellent.

The room was way too hot and the bed was not very comfortable so it was hard to sleep. The manager chastised one of her staff publicly because he was having a 30-second conversation with us during breakfast and did not immediately greet another couple that entered the breakfast area. Everyone felt extremely uncomfortable with this incident and it was a horrible experience.

Exceptional

Hotel basilica It is an amazing experience to stay there. It is a family run historic hotel with 13 rooms, a few blocks from the Basilica. The staff are incredibly helpful and you will see the attention they pay to cleaning the hotel. Every morning a wonderful breakfast is prepared with warm croissants, fresh fruit juice, coffee and eggs cooked to order. They can arrange private tours in comfortable cars. You can’t go wrong staying here.

Fabulous experience in a gorgeous city.

Generous breakfast was prepared for each individual. Gorgeous restored hotel with lots of special touches including fresh flowers everywhere. The hosts treated us like family and ensured we had a safe and comfortable experience.

Beautiful and welcoming colonial house

Lovely colonial house beautifully preserved and decorated. Excellent location to visit all sites of Centro Historico of Quito. Ricardo and Maria were very welcoming and nice. cosy and comfortable decorated rooms.

Best Hotel on the planet

This is a family-run hotel and they are the nicest people you will ever meet. I was there on my Birthday, which they knew from my Passport. Without asking, they gave me presents, Hand made and lovely and that evening gave me a cake they made, free. Wonderful people

Disappointing- Not in a safe area

The property had a lot of character.

The hotel is located in an area which was unsafe at night. On arrival we were warned that we should be back at the hotel by 7.30pm. This was not clear when we chose the hotel and given that the hotel had no restaurant or bar there was nothing to do other than stay in the room in the evenings. Breakfast was basic and disappointing.

Gorgeous historical guest house in an ideal location

The hotel is a marvellous historical home that has been converted to a guest house. The owners have gone out of their way to maintain the original character and charm of this beautiful property. The location is central to all of the historical sites of Quito and surrounded by many excellent restaurants. The staff and owners were wonderful and very accommodating. The breakfast was the best we had in all of Ecuador. We had a 0230 departure time, and the owner got up to let us out and prepared a boxed breakfast for us to take with us. We would definitely stay here again should we return to Quito.

Good and safe location

Tasty breakfast, good and safe location. Nice and friendly staff. We got bottle of good quality vine as an excuse for smaller bed than we booked.

Little gem in the middle of the historic townp

Friendly, helpful staff. Good breakfast although the choice.could be bigger. Great place from qhere to explore the historic town.

There are many signs to use the water sparingly. Yet all the towels are changed every day regardless of whether they have been used or not

just like home

The hotel doesn’t look special outside but inside it was a treasure. Wonderful rooms all with special paintings. Room was clean and bed was very comfortable. Great breakfast. The location is excellent, located in the old town. Inexpensive parking was located right around the corner. The staff was excellent, especially Mariam and her son Juan.

watch out coming to hotel….pick pockets (see photo). The put mud on my shirt, said it was a bird and wanted to “help me clean it off”

Beautiful hotel with welcoming staff

Very beautiful property, amazing attention to detail. Tasty breakfast. Owner and staff are very warm and welcoming. Really excellent place to stay in the heart of Old Town.

Was fine with me, but perhaps should be mentioned: my room didn’t really have much daylight - only one window that was going into the (covered) gallery and courtyard. Hairdryer was very low-power travel type, takes ages to dry hair.

Good value, cute, clean, family-run

We were greeted very warmly by the family who operates the hotel. They have put a lot of effort into the plants, decorations and facilities. Clearly they take a lot of pride in their work. The room was clean and the breakfast was delicious. Location was an easy walk to historic landmarks. Would defintely stay again. Some staff speak English and those who don't were very patient communicating with us.

We would have preferred a more comfortable bed. Also, we could hear some noise from the room when other people were moving around.

no hot water in the morning no hair dryer working brekfast just one egg, one coffee for four people, one piece bred for each, no can get more even if will offer to pay aditional in room very cold and no heating or heaters no suitcase servises, so till our flight need to search another hotel to keep suitcase in another hotel the service is very very bad

Charming traditional house, beautiful arrangements, comfortable; friendly helpful staff; great old town location

it is a very charming traditional Andalusian style house, beautifully designed and arranged, the rooms are beautiful and the decor traditionally artistic, spacious, modern bathroom. the house has pretty inside courtyard and rooftop terrace with great views of the old town, very romantic. It is located in old town, brief walking distance between points of interest, such as the cathedral and the basilica. The staff was amazingly helpful, they run it in a family style; the man even walked with us to take us to the restaurant 5-10 min away, in which we had wanted to have dinner. we had to leave early in the morning and they were ready with breakfast even before 7 am for us. they arranged airport transport that was safe and comfortable.
