Charming character hotel in the heart of the old town.

A beautiful period property, right in the heart of old Cádiz. Tastefully furnished in a Moorish style. There are lovely objects in all corners of the hotel. We received a warm welcome from Pepe at Reception who helped us park the car in the garage opposite ( it’s quite a squeeze!) The room was very clean and comfortable. Excellent shower. Aircon, of course.

Some people might find the room a little small ( it was ok for us). The furniture is old-fashioned, but this is in keeping with the style of the property.

Lovely week in city and hotel full of charm and charachter

Charming hotel, full of traditional character and beautifully presented. Very comfortable rooms, helpful staff and nice breakfast. Lovely roof terrace to relax and listen to the sounds of the city

Excellent breakfast. The room we were assigned had a drab interior view; the staff graciously accommodated our request to move to a similar room with a nice street view, although this room was normally in a higher category.

Delightful visit. We would return and stay longer. Room was small Bathroom was spacious. Roof deck was great. Staff was very accommodating. Good location- quiet street but near to the historic places we wanted to visit.

Stylish, welcoming and right in the heart of old Cadiz

Very friendly helpful staff, great breakfasts, had various glasses of wine on the rooftop terrace and also in the ground floor drawing room/hall area. Stunning bedroom with lovely Moorish style of decor & the hotel had a great location.

Tiny thing - the pillows on the bed could be a bit softer.

Loved Cadiz, beautiful city and this hotel reflects all that is best: history, colour, beauty, life.

Delightful hotel full of character. Excellent breakfast, lovely sitting area on ground floor. Staff were great. We hired the hotel bikes to cycle around Cadiz and to the beach. Drinks on roof one evening. All lovely.

Room was small so we had to store suitcases under the bed. no drawers for clothes but it is a very historic building so it is understandable. Also it was a bit noisy in the early morning as street sweeping starts very early. However, again a historic city of little narrow streets lived in by locals who get up early.

Superb

The hotel is really nice and well curated. Pepe from the reception was really helpful when we had a problem with some smoke smell in our room and offered a change even in a superior room. He also provided very great tips on where to eat and drinks. I would highly recommend this place. The breakfast was also amazing.

Good Value for Money

Good sized room, which was both clean and comfortable. Quiet location very close to all the attractions that Cadiz has to offer. We would certainly stay again. Good value for money.

Excellent location, needs a little refurbishment

The location is perfect to visit the city walking, to reach the port terminal and to go to several bars and restaurants. The room was well heated, which was plus, since we visited in March and the staff goes the extra mile to accommodate the customers.

The weren’t enough hooks to hang clothes and towels in the bathroom and the furniture in our room looked old and wasn’t particularly well maintained.

Superb

Lovely breakfast in pretty dining area - very tastefully decorated. The staff were really friendly, very welcoming and helpful, nothing was too much trouble for them.

Couldn't fault the hotel.....just the weather - it rained throughout our stay!

Disappointment

Location.

The location is really great, I suspect this is why they apply extortionate prices and get away with it. Apart from that the hotel looks old, rundown, sad and grim. Our room was cold, dark and smelt of humidity. Shower only had either boiling or freezing water and no pressure. The free Wifi never worked. I paid for a 130€ superior room with a terrace and was allocated a much lower category one (because of alleged electricity problems in the other one) which was tiny with a horrible view and access to the so-called rooftop which is literally just a couple of plastic chairs and table put there. They didn't even offer to reimburse the difference but only free breakfast which I said I did not want. Upon checkout, I asked for a refund of the difference, and also pointed out the other numerous issues with the room, which they basically denied, asking to check the Wifi status on my phone. The person at reception rolled her eyes and said "this is incredible!" out loud (knowing that I speak Spanish). She said I had been warned about the room change, so I guess she thought it was normal to pay 130€ for a cheaper room. To be fair this bad room was 99€ which is exorbitant, it is worth 50€ at most (and only because of location). After much insistence and many attempts from her for make me drop it, I thankfully got repaid the difference but I would never go back or advise anyone else to go. Outdated hotel, people and rooms and bad faith staff.

Had a great weekend - would recommend.

Did not spend too much time in the room, only to sleep really, was comfortable, clean and staff helpful. located in an excellent position with plenty to do and see within a short walk.

note that parking can be provided for smaller cars on request in the garage but bigger cars need to be parked away from the hotel, the staff were great in advising where to park securely and it was only a 10-15 min walk. Not the hotels fault, Cadiz streets are really narrow.

Great hotel and lovely staff. Pity about the noise.

Location was superb right in the centre and parking was relatively easy in their garage. Staff were also excellent, very friendly and nothing was any bother. The room was comfortable, if smaller than expected, but it was fine for what we needed. The actual hotel is like a ' palacio' and really pretty

The only negative point were other guests coming in throughout the night and waking us up at least twice every night. Because the hotel is built around a central court all rooms tend to be close to it and the sound travels everywhere and is loud. This was not the hotel's fault but very inconsiderate guests.
