All the staff were very courteous, professional and effective. The food (breakfast and at Baba) was very good. Nice touch to have the 5-6pm social hour in the Baba bar.

One small suggestion at breakfast - having warm plates for the cooked breakfast would have been preferable, but the food quality and range was very good.

It was fab from start to finish! Very attentive staff! Thai trip was for my mums 65th birthday as we had a theatre night booked. We were given a bottle of Prosecco and chocolates in our room for my mum which was a lovely and kind surprise. Thank you 😁

The pool was too cold There was no private and cosy hotel bar - there are two lovely cosy lounge rooms for breakfast and the garden room which is light and open but nothing for a cosy drink which didn’t have the general public in

Wonderfully friendly, professional and efficient welcome and check-in. Got a short tour of the facilities, including the information that AIZLE restaurant is a separate company and you need to book... whoever complained about that obviously wasn't paying attention as I heard this being said to every new arrival! Room was lovely, a decent sized single, on the second floor in the building above Baba Bar, facing Las Iguanas on George Street, very comfortable, absolutely spotless and surprisingly quiet considering it was on George Street! Great walk-in shower with beautiful brick-style tiling. Well equipped, coffee, tea, fridge, ironing board and iron, hairdryer, good sized bottles of cream, shower gel, shampoo and conditioner. My only quibble here is that the water flow from the shower is not very strong but take into consideration this is a 200+ year old building and they are infamous for poor water.. Drinks in the bar in the evening with friends, excellent Sangiovese and big measures... Early morning, down to the pool. I did not expect the gym facilities to be quite so extensive and good, need to bring my gym kit next time! The pool is not very big, 12metres, I think but enough to loosen up and get the day started. Really appreciate the little dryer/spinner for swimwear, means you are not packing a dripping wet swimsuit. Breakfast... served in the Baba restaurant with the buffet set up in the bar area. The rooms are a bit of a time warp with beautiful plaster moulding, dining tables and chairs but also sofas, armchairs and banquette seating, dark colours and rather sumptious. The breakfast offering is comprehensive, fruits, cold cuts, cheeses, smoked salmon, doughnuts, croissants, other breads too many to mention and an excellent range of cooked foods... bacon, fabulous pork sausages, scrambled eggs, tomatoes, mushrooms, baked beans and (it's Scotland after all) haggis... all fresh and hot.

The room was spacious, the complimentary minibar (and I am not sure if this is something that's available in this hotel in general, or something that comes explicitly with room 33 - the townhouse suite) was just something unexpected and a nice touch.

The staff are so rude and unfriendly. We asked to meet the manager but the staff said he is rest at his home. So we could not meet him. The housekeeping came to clean the room at 17 the evening not the morning. The cleanness ls so poor. So small beds. They're suitable for 1 person not two. So small rooms. You should ask for everything in the room. The breakfast is too small and the food isn't good.

I booked this as a present for my daughter and son in law and this is what they had to say about their trip. Absolutely everything was fabulous. The staff were amazing. They went out of their way to make everything really special for us. Nothing was too much trouble. We were celebrating my birthday and also our upcoming wedding anniversary and we were offered an upgrade to a suite. The bed was so comfortable and there was everything in the room that we could wish for. The breakfast and evening meal were superb. We were thoroughly spoilt and didn't want to leave. The hotel is in a fantastic location on the corner of George Street. Everything was within walking distance. Can't rate it highly enough.

a bit of confusion about things like bed size in bedrooms, upgrade amounts in hotel vs what you book and pay for on booking.com parking was another one so watch out for that! Because it’s really expensive so make sure you book in advance somewhere and notify hotel so they can help. a careful about parking on the streets surrounding it. the breakfast is not the level of quality it should be for the hotel or the add on price you end up paying either as an add on or inclusive of booking.com overpriced room service for dessert - not made clear at time of booking or taken in to consideration for a very expensive upgrade to a suite.

The staff were exceptional, the cleanliness was exceptional! Was our second stay and will definitely be returning.
