Amazing experienceOct 2021
We stayed there for 5 days but the kids loved it so much that we had to extend our stay for another 5 days! we got upgraded from deluxe suite to senior suite with sea view. The room was lovely and spacious with a great view and comfortable beds. Many activities could be done at the resort e.g. snorkeling, kayaking ..etc. The food, in general, was good which was included in our package (recommended to take half board at least). The staff was exceptional wherever you go, whether at the reception, beach, club, or at any of the restaurants. They were always there when needed with a smile and happy to help. We had Wedley as our driver and he made sure our stay was pleasant and the kids happy. He showed us around and took wonderful pics with his great photographic skills. Overall, id say that he went beyond what's expected of him to deliver an exceptional level of service. The kids really loved and we highly recommend anyone to benefit from his services. We would definitely go back to the resort again.
The food at the beach club (ala carte ) was ok, needs some improvement.
Nice facility medicare service and food.Jun 2022
well kept and beautiful. very comfortable and relaxing atmosphere.
food did not meet my expectations. several resturant but more or less same limited menu. waiter service was inconsistent. some where lazy and not helpful. The assigned butler was useless.
Fabulous luxury holiday which caters to all agesFeb 2023
We had the most fabulous stay at Le Telfair. The resort is beautiful with 2 pools and stunning beaches. You also have access to Awali resort which is next to Le Telfair (walkable) but we never felt the need to go elsewhere - but I think they have a couple more pools you can access.
We found it absolutely fantastic at catering to our needs as a family with an 18 month old. The kids club runs every day from 830-4pm and the staff there are so lovely and reassuring. I think Ivy was the lady in charge and can’t praise her and the other staff enough. They give the kids their lunch and snacks, put them down for naps, and take them swimming/out in the big garden with play area. Our baby was very happy there, and ate and slept very well for our whole stay! The fact it is so child friendly was definitely a highlight for us, but I would say that it is totally suitable for couples, and there were plenty of older couples there. Because the childcare provision is so brilliant the pool does not get busy with kids until later on in the day.
We also used the babysitting service most evenings so we could go for dinner. Geraldine was a star and took great care of Henry, I had such confidence in her and would book her again in a heartbeat (including managing an evening of vomit from him!).
There are lots of activities available on site, and excursions you can take elsewhere. As I was pregnant I didn’t do any of the nature reserve trips which I would want to try and do next time. However we did take kayaks/SUP/pedalos, and played tennis and used the gym so there was plenty to do on site. I also had a massage in the spa which was lovely.
The breakfast was fabulous - lots of fresh fruit, freshly squeezed juices, hot options, pastries and pancakes. We were half board which worked out well for us as we didn’t drink a lot of alcohol due to my pregnancy so wouldn’t have got our money worth I don’t think.
We had a relaxing stay. The hotel is excellent and the staff is extremely friendly and welcoming.Aug 2022
We had a relaxing stay.
The hotel is excellent and the staff is extremely friendly and welcoming.
Oh! The food is exquisite! You can tell the products are premium, they don’t cut corners…the fresh juices in the breakfast are the best I have ever tasted!
We stayed in telfair on our first days on the island, we have come up west and will be returning to the heritage for our last night before our flight. Had I known how good the hotel was, I would have stayed all the nights in the heritage. Can’t wait to be back!
Brilliant May 2020
We couldn’t have asked for a better stay. Some of the best service we’ve ever received, the staff were exceptional and so kind and friendly (especially Alan!). Sadly we had to return early due to the pandemic, but we so look forward to returning very soon. Perfect for families with small children
thank you for everything, we are definitely coming back again!Jan 2022
We absolutely loved the hotel. Everything from start to finish was perfect. We travelled as a family with two young children and hotel staff made us all feel super comfortable and welcome. Thank you to our private butler Yanik who looked after us and organised our dinner bookings for all our stay literally within an hour after we arrived to the hotel.
Rooms - we stayed in the room with the patio, room was always left spotless and clean, beds were comfortable and I loved that the air con was quiet too so the sleep wasn’t disturbed
Location - absolutely amazing, the beach was literally 20 steps away from our room, with beautiful sunsets, shallow sea and also a heated pool which was amazing for children and we loved it too.
Food - we went for a half board option and food was amazing, we had 3 course dinners every evening, food felt like michelin star quality and freshly cooked food and served to us at the table every night (amazing wine list too). There were couple times when kids were unsettled during dinner and we had to go back to the room but staff kindly offered to serve the rest of our dinner at our room, which was super considerate.
GoodApr 2023
View, calm, kid's club hours, wellness center services, food overall quality, coktails, and swiming pools.
Slow service or messy (especially conciergerie). Could not get 'navette' from a distant restaurant, so we walked back to hotel after 20min wait.
Kid's club activities not very well organised ending in frustration and cries for our kids.
Sewer smell in the room waking us up at night (not up to a 5 stars hotel)
recommendedFeb 2023
very nice and clean resort, beach and pool as well, decoration is nice
the reception was really nice they provide us with cold and nice juice
the kids club was really nice and the kids enjoyed
1-long stairs without a stroller path
i had to carry the baby stroller every time i climb the stairs.
2-most of the restaurants there needs reservation for the dinner
SuperbMar 2020
Very friendly staff, variety of food choices, pool is very nice too.
Highly recommended.
You can expect some bugs and cockroachs visiting your room from time to time :)
ExceptionalJan 2022
This was probably the best place we have ever stayed not only for the beautiful surroundings, lovely food and little touches but also got the effort and care of the people that work there. The guys at the activity center were awesome and deserve an extra mention, every single one of you. The nicest friendliest and most sincere people. You made our holiday and your enthusiasm was infectious. The Christmas party for the kids was really the stuff of dreams and so were all the New Years celebrations and plans. We generally don’t stay in resort type hotels preferring villa style holidays but the Telfair did make us reconsider as the activities, kids club and all the extras were fantastic. An enormous thank you for providing our family with an incredible break from reality. Also this is tourism of the best kind and we really appreciated the environmental and social sustainability efforts they were evident throughout our stay. In terms of Covid safety it really couldn’t be better- huge efforts are taken in testing guests and probably staff, all staff are always in masks and there are no crowded or poorly ventilated spaces. Well done and thank you 🙏🏻.

Best hotel expeience I have had so far.Aug 2022
The service was out of this world and the hotel was extremely beautiful. We went for our honeymoon and only had one regret - that we did not stay longer. Significantly better than other hotels we stayed at in Le Morne and e.g. Four Seasons.
Perfect stayMar 2022
The room was clean, very comfortable, and the staff was amazing. They went over and beyond to help make our stay enjoyable especially jossy, audrey and allan from chateau Bel Ombre. I highly recommend this hotel for anyone visiting Mauritius.
Perfect location for adults and families with children under 8-10 years old. The staff is very carrefull with everythingJul 2022
The resort looks wonderful, the arhitecture, the pools, the view and the staff are beyond expectations. The wellness spa is awesome, the golf place is also awesome!
It doesn’t have so many things to do after 21:00. You can just sit on a bar and have some drinks, but no entertainment or just very little.
Superb resortMay 2023
The resort is superbly designed, with incredible gardens, spaces and villas. Rooms are like in the pictures, spacios and beautiful furnished. Staff is always helpful and friendly and the service was excellent. There are a lot of employees always doing good work to maintain the resort in it's spotless state.
Food is excellent with various restaurants to have the dinner.
Sharmine we thank you for organizing our stay and for the lovely surprise of the candle light dinner on the beach. That experience was incredible.
High expectations not fully metOct 2022
The resort decor and food are very good. You have plenty of restaurants to try and the food is great in all of them. Great drinks as well. Go for the Alans! Alan as residence host, Allan in Le Château and Alan at the nautical center for kite surf lessons.
You have to be lucky with your residence host, the person responsible for your stay that will help you book reservations for your meals and activities.
Service at some restaurants are very slow and unorganized like C beach club where you can wait 30 minutes for a menu. Be careful with the all inclusive, it isn't, you will have menu restrictions on restaurants and to be able to play tennis or golf you will have to pay for the balls. The resort is advertised with 12 restaurants but it will be difficult to book all of them due to scheduling restrictions that will limit your choices but your residence host will have to help a lot. It has the resources to be a really good 5 star hotel but service needs to improve in a lot of aspects.
my stay was the best and will be coming back soonFeb 2022
the property is clean and well looked after . the tranquility is over this world .
Very goodJul 2022
The Nature is amazing
I wish the concergae was more firmed in arranging guests activity, they take too long time to suggest a plan and a lot of questions and more than one confirmation to finalze the booking
great resort but do not go there to enjoy the beach.Apr 2022
The layout and quality of finishes in this hotel were incredible. The staff were absolutely fantastic.
choice of restaurants were amazing. really enjoyed the personal attention to detail. A real incredible hotel.
The beach is on a reef (as with most hotels in Mauritius). The water at the beach is knee height so not able to swim at all. you can simply sit and relax in the water. the glass bottom boat and snorkeling activities which were included in the rate were booked out every day so we were not able to enjoy this offering. We did try and book the night of arrival for the week we were there but it was always full. My suggestion would be to get a second or third boat so all the guests can experience this.
Affordable LuxuryJul 2022
The hotel is a five-star resort offering five-star services. The staff members are professional, friendly, and polite. There are many restaurants offering mostly 3 course A' la carte menu and occasional themed buffet The meals were excellent and made from the finest ingredients. Breakfast was also excellent and there was so much variety that every need is taken care of.
The hotel assigns you a resident host at arrival and this person is responsible for making your stay as comfortable as it can be. Our host was Sharmine and she did an excellent job and was regularly in contact with us to make sure our stay was as smooth as it could be.
The resort offers many activities Spa, Gym, Swimming pools, Yoga, etc. They also have a variety of complimentary water sports equipment and activities. In case you just want to stay at the hotel, there will be a lot of activities to explore.
The hotel offers sightseeing activities outside the hotel and they offer luxury chauffer-driven vehicles. Our chauffer was Coco and he did a great job explaining the history of the country and the places we visited.
I highly recommend the hotel to anyone serious about luxury.
We had booked a Deluxe Seaview Suite however on arrival we were told that there was a problem and the Deluxe Seaview suite was not available. We were offered a room with a garden view for the entire stay. The hotel tried to make up by offering free lunch and a complimentary massage to address the problem. This was disappointing because this holiday was to celebrate my 40th birthday.
PerfectMay 2023
The hotel grounds are beautiful, location is perfect, and cherry on top - the staff is incredible. A big thank you to Melvin who attended to our every need throughout our stay but also the lovely personnel behind the scenes: Marie-Ange and Davina in charge of rooms; Joanne and Samuel at breakfast; Kris, Ashley, Elvira, Lucie at the various dinners - and everyone else who helped make our stay magical.
fantastic vacation with a lot of sports activitiesFeb 2023
The four restaurants made the variety tremendous
the Taxi fair to the east and the North can be ecpensive
One of the best resorts in mauritiusJun 2022
The facility’s overall designing
The only problem is with the lizards which is normal to an island but can be managed by pest control.
good value for moneyFeb 2019
The breakfast rooms and the breakfast. The Golf club being part of the Hotel without green fees. The fast transport system to golf court and this very beautiful Golf court !
the welcome gift at the room should comprise fruits. Entertainment in the evening could be improved.
Highly recommended, one of our best trip ever, the place is kids friendly and I do plan to revisit.Aug 2022
The beach was lovely, with a heated swimming pool and a variety of food. The staff were friendly and always supportive.
I would also like to mention the superstar Widley; he is an expert in locations and incredible viewpoints; our trips would not have been as enjoyable as it was if it wants for him. He also goes the extra mile to ensure that we get the best treatment when we go to any destination.
Contact him if you are going there, and he will make your trip far better than anticipated. He is the best trip planner and tourist adviser you can go with in Mauritius.
The breakfast buffet was always the same, you could only eat it in one restaurant, and the menu never changed.
5-star prices without the 5-star service. Will NEVER come back and will not recommend to others.Mar 2023
The beach is decent. Some staff were decent.
Location, incompetent staff (many examples to list), poor hygiene (all types of bugs found in our room: mosquitoes, flies, cockroaches, SPIDERS, you name it. I have evidence), Wi-Fi very unstable, most guests were elderly Europeans.
Good but below our high expectations.Jun 2022
The beach club on the west. Open and relaxed vibe.
Not possible to make restaurant reservations the 3 days of arrival. hence to eat in the central restaurant which was not great and overpriced (without semi board)
ExceptionalFeb 2022
the architecture and landscape of the resort are exceptional, the swimming pools are large, good selection of water sports
breakfast was very good but for dinner food could be a notch better
Exceeded our expectations - highly recommendMay 2023
Tasteful and elegant property with staff that prioritized client wellbeing and satisfaction. We had a lovely time and there was so much to take advantage of at the property - complementary sauna/hammam/spa, yoga, bike riding, daily excursions and activities, rum tastings. We ate at three of the twelve restaurants and had delicious and varied meals nightly; the breakfast buffet in the main hall was also fabulous and very reasonably priced. We loved everything about our stay and highly recommend.
Very enjoyableMar 2020
Superb property and facilities, overall great fooding experience, very confortable room, friendly staff ready to help. Dont hesitate to enjoy breakfast at the beach club, which is less crowded and offer as many or different food options
The babyclub facility is disappointing for children aged 18-36 months. It is more a nursing facility for babies under one year old. Tiny playground area, very few toys/books, little educative material available, unfriendly facility hot humid and open for mosquitos. Not ideal. My 30 months old girl who enjoys kindergarden a lot back home did not like her esxperience. We found an alternative solution with the babyclub of the sister next door property Awali which is way better nand better fitted for this age group. The staff is also super active. Dont hesitate to check it out.

A disappointing stay. A beautiful hotel but many let downsNov 2021
Quality of the food. Room design was beautiful.
- Archaic dinner booking system (had to be done via 'host'). Slow and manual to find information about menus and availability.
- We arrived early for check-in, so we waited in a nice area. Didn't manage to check-in to our room until 30 mins after check-in time. When we arrived in our room, the cleaners had not finished cleaning. Had to wait 10 mins outside for this to be done.
- Shower drain was blocked
- Broken sun lounger in private beach area outside our room
- Yellow water coming out of bath tap - attempted to fix it multiple times but not resolved
- Awkward encounter with hotel manager - uncomfortable silence as he attempted to greet us. Only spoke to my husband and didn't even look at me once.
- On the website it’s stated that Yoga is an included activity, free of charge. When we asked our host about this, they said we had to play a supplement. Very confusing. She did end up offering us an ‘Art Therapy’ class instead (offered it for free when usually there is a supplement) - we took the offer and it ended up being more like a kid’s finger painting class. No easels, no paintbrushes, very little instruction. Just some big bottles of paint, blank canvases and a fold out table (no seats either…). Let’s just say I’d be disappointed if I paid for the activity.
