This is the 2nd time I have stayed here, and it’s absolutely fantastic. It’s literally right next to the entrance of Manual Antonio National Park, which is fantastic. It’s easy getting to and from the hotel via car even with people coming to the park.
The food at the breakfast buffet is really good as always, and the staff is overall really awesome. Super nice people.
I think a thing to note is the local area around San Bada is a little disconnected from the heart of Manuel Antonio, but it doesn’t matter. There’s plants to do around here. There are some really good restaurants/bars at the foot of the hill and a little bodega as well where you can load on up supplies (beer, sunscreen, whatever).
Try to stay on the 5th floor so you can get an ocean view. You can see the ocean and hear the waves. You will not have an ocean view otherwise. The rooms are nice, and the beds are super comfy.
There are a few ways to get to the beach from here.
1. You can enter Manuel Antonio National Park and go to the beaches within there. They are gorgeous and worth the money. We saw a sloth about 6-feet above us, sleeping in a tree, when we entered Playa Espadilla Sur. Note, Playa Gemelas is a little rough even during low tide.
2. There is a beach path which you can access through a tunnel on the hotel grounds.
3. You can walk out of the hotel grounds onto the road, make a left, and make a left down the alley. This actually ends up in a meeting spot in the place as if you took path #2 above. No difference. It’s totally safe, and there’s a really good little restaurant there called El Chante del Parque. It’s hidden!
4. You can walk down the road to get to the beach. It’s safe, no doubt. There’s numerous little eateries/sodas along the walk.
Long story short, San Bada is a great hotel in a good location. I hope this helps!
Nothing, I like it all

The breakfast were superb and the children's pool was great.
To have more options for eating on the roof, not everyone likes Sushi. Perhaps making use of morning bagels restaurant in order to have a morning coffee to watch the park wake up. The adult pool is located in a place you really don't to swim in front of people dinning.

amazing location, friendly staff, nice food
very busy outside the hotel and very hard to get down the street in a vehicle due to the tourists.

Right next to the Manuel Antonio park entrance, plenty of parking spots. The reception staff was friendly and helpful. Gerardo from the Congo restaurant was truly a man of hospitality and service—welcoming, attentive and made us feel at home.
Definitely not a 4 star hotel and price doesn’t represent the quality. The hotel in general looks like it was last renovated decades ago. Poor cleaning of the rooms. Old smelling pillows. The rest of the personnel is not friendly and seem like they work for tips only like the omelette station chef during breakfasts. The path to the beach is dodgy and they could have taken an extra step to maintain instead of advertising themselves as a beachfront hotel.

step-by-step accessibility to the park, but this is pointless since a guide from any hotel picks you up for all excursions to the park
1- we booked a room at the same price, but the hotel took more money from us 2- the hotel is concrete, the area is creepy without greenery, the pools are cold and dirty 3- the staff is unpleasant 4- the rooms and the whole hotel are creepy design. the apogee of bad taste, even considering the fact that we lived in the nicest room. 5- breakfasts!!! complete horror. Poor quality food, almost no choice.

loved this hotel! it’s in a great location, right next to the national park entrance. the rooms are spacious with comfortable beds. great pool and pool bar, good breakfast too. we went up to the sushi restaurant one night which was delicious. very short walk to the main town for dinner and the closest beach is beautiful. really lovely staff who are very welcoming and friendly!

It's very close to Manuel Antonio National Park. The Staff from the Check In was very nice.
The breakfast was bad, we all got sick after and it was nether fresh nor tasty. The staff at the breakfast was not very friendly.

huge room for two of us. Nice balcony with two rocking chairs. You could not get closer to the only entrance to Manuel Antonio Park. Nice swimming pool with features (bar, jacuzzi, waterfalls, bridge over pool). Stunning resort when you first arrive. Attractive main restaurant. Amazing view of sunset from top floor bar. Unbelievable actually, didn't even pressure us to buy drinks. Adult only pool on top level as well as sushi restaurant. Big buffet Costa Rican breakfast. Geraldo was very friendly and professional at the main restaurant. Easy 5 minute access to beach.
not the greatest food at the hotel restaurants which was surprising. Staff seem to move around different jobs so some were not good waiters at all. All rooms face the back of some poor looking housing and empty unattractive empty lot.

Breakfast was good.
The rooms have mold and are musty and really made it difficult to want to be in the room. It made what was a nice hotel into us not wanting to stay there.

would’ve liked a printed list of information about hotel services, hours, menu etc or a QR code to scan

This location was great - couldn't be closer to Manuel Antonio. The pool was greatly enjoyed by the children too.
While I would say the stay overall was positive there are some things worth noting.
1. None of the cardio gym equipment was functional (3 treadmills and a bike - all broken)
2. We were put into a special room on the 5th floor which is great b/c it is seemingly the only one high enough to see the ocean and not see the trashy area behind but is directly underneath the 6th floor restaurant so there was loud scraping on the floor that might keep lighter sleepers awake (we were mostly able to sleep through it once we fell asleep)
3. The food and service timelines in the restaurant is not great. I think most guests pick up on this and head into town for lunches and dinners which is highly recommended as there are some delicious offerings around
4. The path to the beach is fine but the first portion seems to walk along a small sewage stream
5. The hotel seems to have been a very nice hotel about 20 years ago but could use some updates. Again, we are pretty easy going so it didn't bother us that much but might be less than ideal for some given the pricing and comparative rates. You are definitely paying to be next to Manuel Antonio.

the location next to Manuel Antonio and the beach
It is extremely expensive for what it offers. The room was clean but everything was damp and somehow worn out. there is little attention to details that doesn’t justify the over 300 dollars a night fee.

everything is perfect and upto date.

if you came by car then it’s really cool, you have a free parking place by the Manuel Antonio park and an east access to the park, which is really good! they change your 4000-5000 colones for parking before entering the park which is very expensive. I would usual price for parking is 2000 colones.
breakfast is good but not too many options. for example no vegetables and only few fruits. though a vegetarian would be able to find smth.
this is probably one of the few hotels we stayed in that didn’t have some sort of bugs, ants or other creatures in the room.
cleaning stuff did a good job cleaning the rooms.
hotel has free beach/pool towels. really cool because your own towel would just not dry overnight.
because hotel is so close to the National park you get to see iguanas, monkeys and birds just from your balcony. however, hotel offers a guided tour to the park, which costs ~50$ (only cash), which I would recommend too.
the rooms on the ground floor are loud! on the other hand we stayed also on the 4th floor and it was much better.
nothing would dry in the hotel and it’s not the problems of this hotel but in general any hotel very close to the ocean.
beach is close but not as close as you wish it to be. also the road to the beach is a bit strange. I would say public beach is okay but the beach in the park is so much better, you just need to pay an abtrabte fee.

The staff was very welcoming and greeted us with delicious drinks.

location next to the park and beach and the staff was very obliging
it is hard to find a negative thing about this resort. A hot tub would have been great but we were really too busy enjoying the area to have used it. Overall it is a very good value

The staff were great and the location and view from the roof top bar was amazing, especially at sunset. Being right next to the national park was fantastic for wildlife.
I thought the food was a bit pricey.

The hotel was ok. It's very close(beside) Manuel Antonio park. The walk to the beach was awful, it goes beside some sewage stream, we used it once and then used the main road, which is the longer but more pleasant way. The pool is ok, nothing special. The food in both restaurants was delicious and reasonably priced in the area. The staff is very friendly and helpful, they can book activities for you there if you haven't done it yourself.
Wifi was not stable. The hotel is overpriced, but the Manuel Antonio area is also overpriced.

Buffet breakfast was ok. Too many little bees around us and food. Desk staff were excellent. Cleaning staff excellent.
Congo restaurant for dinner. Waiter was not good. Food was just ok. Maybe they were training new waiters??
