Bliss!

The location, the level of service. The wonderful welcome when we arrived. I mentioned it was a belated wedding anniversary, and Jay was very quick to compliment us with a bottle of wine. Ver touched.

The usual issue of hotels everywhere- not enough drying racks in the bathroom.

Exceptional

We enjoyed our stay. Room was comfortable and clean. We loved the wine down time, really a nice touch, especially after a day out. Breakfast was delicious. Staffs very friendly & helpful. We will definitely stay in this hotel next time in Melbourne:)

Exceeded my expectations.

I loved the architecture of the building and the interior of the building. The rooms were spotlessly clean and the staff were outstanding. I loved the books and old collectables on the mezzanine level to create a very warm and friendly atmosphere.

A beautifully decorated room in a great location. Breakfast was served with style in a comfortable setting.

The parking is provided for additional cost had small spaces and narrow entry.

Great stay, wonderful room/apartment

Very friendly staff, responsive, and showed they care about us. The place is old, and you can see it in some corners of the entrance, but once you are in, and get to your room, the surprise was wonderful. Every small detail thought of, large and spacious apartment, all required amenities are there.

After comparing it to other places, I noticed we paid quite a lot for the room, but eventually, we did not regret it, it was worth it.

Best value hotel in CBD

Even with the rave reviews this one night stay for a family of four greatly exceeded our expectations. The staff were so genuinely welcoming and helpful. So many unexpected perks and extras. Beautiful mezzanine space for breakfast. Beds extremely comfortable. Rooms so comfortable. Will be our hotel of choice in Melbourne CBD from now on.

A swimming pool would've been the cherry on top.

Best Hotel in Melbourne even when compared to the best 5 star hotels.

This is as perfect as a hotel can be. We've stayed as a family Of 5 in five star hotels around the world but this is the best experience we had staying in a hotel. The hotel provides free snacks for kids and complementary wine on the Mezzanine floor. The staff are lovely as well and always have a smile, especially the girl at the bar in the evening, what a lovely lass with her warm smile.

Overall very happy with the stay. Pretty central so everywhere within walking distance.

Excellent friendly staff. Room was good size and comfortable.

Entrance was not obvious as check in is on mezzanine floor. Not well signposted from Queen St entrance.

Excellent value, comfortable, good location, lovely building and warm, welcoming staff.

The warm and friendly welcome, and the staff were so accommodating. Helpful and generous. Really enjoyed our stay. The room was great, nice layout with sunken living area. No view but you have to expect that in an inner city hotel. We would recommend this property to anyone wanting a city escape. Congratulations to the staff who made our stay so special.

Amazing value and exceeded expectations.

Fantastic hotel - gorgeous historic/heritage building. Lobby and check in is on the second/Mezzanine level as well as where the breakfast is served each morning and drinks are poured each evening. All staffed by warm, welcoming and kind personnel. The room was spacious with a full sunken living room, in suite washer/dryer, electric stovetop, microwave, Nespresso (with a bunch of extra pods), kitchen sink, etc. Television is modest but adequate and has a good work station/desk. The toiletries and linens were all at or above average in quality, and everything was clean. The breakfast was fantastic - truly a quality varied fare and in plenty of quantity. There was almost around the clock (the floor closes at 1030pm) snacks, bottles of water and so forth available. And then there was a wine service each evening where you could mingle with other guests (or keep to yourself just as easily) and all complimentary. If I was headed out for a walk or to an excursion or similar, I could easily stop by and grab a water, a granola or nutrition bar, thing of juice, or maybe just a chocolate or two! I rarely am so impressed by a hotel, but this was great. I normally stay at large national chains in the US and for those if you want top quality then you know which brands to book and you know you're going to be paying a hearty amount for them. Here I was intentionally booking something of modest cost but in a central location and beautiful building and as a bonus I found an amazing gem of great service and included perks. Top of my list for any future Melbourne stay!

Super friendly and accommodating staff

The staff were excellent. They were very friendly, responsive to questions and helped us figure out whether our car would fit in the car park given the low height. The breakfast buffet every morning was full of great food and there were plenty of snacks throughout the day. Location was very convenient for exploring the city and the room was very well soundproofed. Despite being in the centre of the city there was basically no outside noise at night time. The car park offered is excellent value compared to other accommodations options, although it is tight and has a low height (we only just fit our 4wd in there). We would definitely stay again.
