We really enjoyed our stay at MRD Beach Hotel. All the rooms have pool view. The staff is amazing and the food is very good. The pool is nice and the beach is near, only 5 minutes walk. I highly can recommend this hotel.👍

Rooms were large and very comfortable. Food was great and the overall service was very good.

Hotel was not on the beach as we expected - had to walk about 100 metres. There was a problem with the bathroom but the staff sorted this out quickly.

La camera tripla aveva due letti molto grandi (assolutamente un plus) però di conseguenza poco spazio per aprire i bagagli / muoversi. Molte zanzare.

Payment for the room had to be done in cash in local currency - they dont accept credit cards or USD

Location was good. Just off the main road in upuvelli. Beach was about 50mtrs down a path. Staff were very friendly and helpful. Good air con which was certainly needed.

The room was small for what we paid. We booked a deluxe family room with two double beds, however we were shown into room with a double and single. When we showed our booking we were moved into the room next door which was exactly the same but with 2 double beds. I failed to see where the "delux" element was as all the rooms are the same consisting of a chalet style design facing onto a swimming pool. The rooms are clean but basic with a small fridge and very small wardrobe. There is no privacy when sitting outside your room as all the rooms are in a long row. The swimming pool is clean and a generous size but BEWARE many of the tiles are chipped or have grout missing leaving very sharp edges. Both me and my wife cut our legs, (see photo), not too seriously but it could have been much worse for a child. We booked this hotel to have a few days of rest and luxury after travelling through sri lanka mainly staying in small independent home stays This hotel was by far the most expensive accomodation we stayed and was overpriced. A smaller homestay would have been better value.

So close to the beach, the pool was big, everything was comfortable and the staff were great. Breakfast was huge and delicious!

The bathroom didn't smell very nice, but that was the only issue and it didn't detract from our enjoyment at all.

clean overall, nice big swimming pool, comfy room/bed/bathroom. Hot water, shower pressure. Smiling and helpful staff, apart from the manager who was sometimes intrusive, to say it politely. The nearby beach is clean and there are a few restaurants as well nearby

small things were missing (Shampoo or at least shower gel) and the same thing happened to the guests who arrived right after us (we heard them asking for the same thing) Nobody specified when and how to have bed linen or towels changed. Breakfast very basic, the continental one, no flavor. the hotel is in a side road. The perk is that the beach at the end of the street is very clean, the only clean spot in that area. On the other hand, this street is almost in the dark at night, especially close to this hotel. I understand that this is not 100% the hotel's responsibility (mainly is the Government negligence) but still, it would be good for guests who would like to go out at night, reach the beach with restaurants or the main road safely
