Absolutely stunning!

Could have had a few more sun lounges by the pool. The pool gets very busy around sunset.

A great stay in a great hotel with the best staff!

The hotel exceeded our expectations with its location, amenities and most importantly the staff. From the pool cleaner, and restaurant personnel to the housekeeping staff and the fantastic front desk staff always with a smile and a 'Bonjour'. They were all the most friendly and accommodating we have experienced in our world travels. Our family enjoyed a prestige two-bedroom unit that had modern decor detailed to a high standard and super clean. The room was oversized for a hotel and the kitchen was a great bonus. Views over the water from the two balconies watching the kite surfers and boats were mesmerising. Along with the most beautiful sunsets over the water, imaginable. The large beds were very comfortable and the bathrooms were well-stocked with fluffy towels and the usual amenities you would expect from a 5-star hotel. Breakfast had a good selection of French pastries and hot choices plus fresh fruit and meats. A massage at the spa is a must if you stay and the choice will astound you! The hotel is located in a quiet area but a convenient stroll along the oceanfront to restaurants and retailers. We would recommend the Chateau Royal to any traveller.

A lovely hotel in a good location.

Room was great, staff helpful. Breakfast buffet is lovely.

A small on-site shop would be great, just for essentials like milk, band aids, chocolate etc. La' scale takeaway menu for dinner could have more options...

Luxurious, friendly and relaxing. Amazing quiet pool with lovely lounge chairs and umbrellas.

The staff were all excellent, easily spoke English or French, smiling, greeted you whenever they walked past you, helpful with questions and suggestions, lovely banter, wonderful service.

My adult daughter and I required 2 single beds. The only minor critique re: our room was the size of the 2 single beds. The length of the beds was perfect however the width of the single beds was quite narrow for an adult. The rest of the room was fantastic. The full kitchen was very useful, the rain shower was lovely, great mirror and lighting in the bathroom, chairs and table out on the balcony. The blackout curtains were a nice bonus and the pocket doors between rooms made it possible to sleep in total darkness as the sun rose before 5am. Also very pleased with our cleaning lady, Paulette, she was very sweet and always did a wonderful job on our room.

Accueillant, et disponible mais chambre indisponible a notre arrivé.

Tout était confortable et à notre aise. Si ce serait a refaire, ce serait volontiers...

L'heure de check-in n'était pas respecté, on nous a dit de récupérer la chambre a 15h et on a dû attendre 30 min en plus. Donc j'ai demandé à faire un check-out à 11h30, mais aucune réponse nous a été donné.

Great location, rooms spotless and exactly like the pictures, great staff

We had room 418 for nine nights and greatly enjoyed it. Great location away from the main restaurant areas but able to walk if you wanted to. Beach straight out the front. Staff very attentive, very good room servicing. Plenty of parking. The hotel were able to supply us with a quiet room on request, room had lovely water views around the other hotel next door. Small basic kitchen which suited us fine. The Aquatronic pool area is an extra daily charge but well worth at least one visit during your stay.

Unfortunately there is construction occurring on site during Monday to Friday - this was pre advised by the hotel. We could not hear anything at all in our room and there were no obstructions at all, but the noise interferes badly with use of the pool area during construction times.

Nice hotel, lovely staff, great spa area, good location close to restaurants and walking tracks.

Lovely one bedroom apartment, partial view of the ocean. Great kitchen.

Noisy in living room due to airconditioning duct from other apartments going through. Sofa and chairs not as comfortable.

Fabulous, comfortable stay. Excellent facilities.

Excellent restuarants for evening meals and great seaside location.

The charge for the heated pool was very expensive for 5 of us. .The buffet breakfast was also too expensive.

View was fantastic. Breakfast run out pretty quick if you turned up late there wasn't much left. Room was very comfy.

Great location for your stay in New Caledonia

Good facilities and a nice environment to stay. Hotel staff were lovely. Great location.

Unfortunately we were unable to check in at 3pm due to a delay in cleaning and had to wait around.

My son and I had a fabulous time in the hotel.

Assistance from everyone working in the hotel. Having the freedom to take hotel towels to the beach.

Not having enough beach lie low chairs and international phone/digital charging adapters. Food was more expensive than in Australia.

Relaxing Short Resort Break

Room was big, clean and well appointed. Staff are incredibly friendly and language wasn't an issue at all. The wine shop in the hotel was very well stocked and a reasonable price. We walked straight onto the beach and didn't struggle to get loungers at the pool on any morning between 9-10am. Shuttle to and from the airport was seamless and easy walk to shops, cafes and restaurants.

Restaurant and pool bar closed Monday and Tuesday and bar menu is very limited so not a great alternative. In saying this restaurants nearby are great and a good option when this happens- would just be good for signage to give you a heads up. Spa was booked up for 2 weeks also. Not totally surprised with it being Christmas but again no signage and nothing to prompt to book in advance which would be useful.

Rest and relaxation

The front desk staff were terrific. Extremely helpful and friendly. The staff in general were great 👍. Rooms were very comfortable and clean. Lots of cocktails available (expensive). Overall, it was great and would definitely return.

Very limited choices on the menu for the everyday restaurant and a lack of information in rooms about how things worked or about what facilities were nearby or what attractions and activities were available.

Wedding anniversary resort style relaxation

We got upgraded and had a sea view room on the 7th floor. It was very generous size, nicely furnished and we sat on the balcony a lot. Couldn't stretch out but there was cafe style seating which let us have drinks and nibbles watching the kitesurfers enjoy the sunset. The kitchen was good enough to cook ourselves a little with a full size fridge. Good beach access and nice spot to have a margarita next to the pool and watch the sunset into the ocean. Gardens were lovely and staff friendly. Easy walking distance to the shops and restaurants at Anse Varta but they were a bit touristy and quite a bit more down market than expected. We had a car and found 2 good supermarkets nearby Casino and Auchan.

The restaurants didn't really appeal and the bar service was patchy. I guess they are struggling with getting staff in a post Covid world too. We got pizza to take back to our room which was tasty enough. The fine dining restaurant was in the same space as the slightly more bistro style one, differentiated only by white tableclaths and menu. There was not room service, only takeways from the restaurant, and the pool bar was closed, since Covid apparently. No concierge service or porters to take our luggage up which I expected in a hotel of this stature and price.

The hotel has an ideal location and is very close to everything. Our room was immaculately clean everyday.

We found the front desk staff not at all friendly or pleasant . Yes, they were doing their jobs but a little compassion goes a long way.

Overall it was a nice stay. My partner proposed to me on the balcony at night.

We had a great stay at the Chateau Royal and highly recommend it.

We booked a spacious one bedroom standard suite with a balcony. The bathroom extra clean, spacious and well lit. The lounge area very comfy and beautifully furnished. There were 2 complementary bottles of water in the fridge which we found very useful. Having the beautiful sandy Anse Vata beach facing the hotel made us enjoy swimming daily at our own ease. The staff were very helpful and friendly at all times. As a whole the hotel was very clean and well looked after.

The hotel had only 2 restaurants. One of them opens for dinners only and was closed on Mondays & Tuesdays. Out of the 5 days of our stay we had breakfast twice. Not too much of a variety. Their menus need to be upgraded with more variety to cater for everyone.

Pleasant but could have been better

Spacious and clean rooms.

Checking in took too long, especially after an early flight. Room wasn't ready till 4 pm which made it a VERY long day. Our room was on the left wing of the building, and it seemed right on top of a service port. Very noise truck at 6 am...😒

Highly recommend

Great accommodation, great staff, good location. Really enjoyed our time there. Special shoutout to Luca and Bryan at front desk who were fantastic. Right on the beach and plenty of nice restaurants onsite and nearby.
