Lovely stay, will stay again!

We loved our cabana on the water, the pool, and the convenience store on site. Very good prices for everything and we chose to utilize their on site golf cart rental company and airport transfer service for a small fee. Very glad we did that and had no stress getting to/from airport or worrying about golf cart hiccups, since the company was right there with us if we needed anything! Concierge was extremely helpful when we had flight issues and the restaurant staff were extremely friendly and fun to talk to all week- great conversation with EVERYONE on site. OH the massages on site were AWESOME, TOO! That was great having on site-

We were bummed about the on site restaurant having inconsistent hours and the amount of time it took to receive food. Minor MINOR complaint, but we were stressed some mornings worrying if we'd make our planned excursions since the time of breakfast was inconsistent and took 30-45 min for toast and fruit. Understood it's vacation, but we got used to it after a couple days. FOOD WAS GREAT, just a little slow. & couldn't get drinks some days after 5pm, when they'd close early with no customers. Overall, awesome restaurant/service, minor complaint from busybody americans.

We were disappointed and sorry we had recommended it to our friends.

We have stayed at Captain Morgans many time for vacations since 2010. This time we were dissappointed with the unit we had and for an additional $700 (for 2 weeks) the staff moved us to a more desirable unit. I had a massage with Jenifer the first week we were there. It was by far the best massage I have ever had. I booked a second session the following week.

We were terribly dissapointed with the food at the resort. Service was very slow and the food (except just bacon and eggs) wasn't good. There was very loud construction that began each morning around 7:00 am. We had really enjoyed the pool bar during previous visits. This time - there were no bars set up at the pools. The pool nearest our unit was so cloudy and greenish that I wouldn't get in it the first week. The second week, the owners came in and I heard her scolding the grounds crew about the water condition. If was cleaned the next morning and remained sparkling clear the rest of our visit.

I have stayed at the resort three times so far and will definitely go back again.

The food was excellent! You must try the Fry Jacks! Even more so, the customer service was superb. The staff is so attentive they remember your name, whether you like coffee or tea, and make Mimosas with fresh watermelon juice. Sending Love to Rodolfo (Rudy), Roland, Zenia, Sam, and Joelle. They are a great team!

The mosquitoes are so hungry so take your bug spray! But that is not the hotels fault. LOL Currently, there is construction going on so it is a bit noisy but reasonable and only during daytime hours.

A needed Vacation!

The authentic island feel and look of the decor. Somethings could be upgraded, but overall it is a secure and peaceful resort.

Construction tion was going on for some remodeling, but staff we above and beyond to accommodate and make sure no one was I convenience. Can't wait to see the full remodel and additions that are happening next year.

Great staff. Resort a bit tired. Needs better policy on basics like drinking water.

The staff were polite and attentive. Even though the resort was just getting back up to speed after Covid, they still had the restaurant open for all three meals. The pool was sparking clean and the grounds were maintained.

A free welcome drink at the bar would have been nice. Not expected, but nice. The one thing that set tone for me was that you had to pay for drinking water. Not only did you have to pay for it, you had to go to the on premises store to purchase it. It was only around $7 US but they made you sign a $25 deposit slip for the 5 gallon plastic jug of water. At check out, YOU had to drain the jug and return it to the store before checking out. At that point, they gave you a slip of paper to give to the front desk to remove the $25 off the bill. I mean seriously. Do they thing we are going to smuggle out a 5 gallon plastic jug in luggage? This is not a hostel, it's a luxury resort. One that charges accordingly. You would think they could at least provide drinkable water to every room. At the most it would cost them $5 a day. This one thing is the reason we will never go to Captain Morgans Retreat again.

Nothing, it is nasty and disgusting

Smell of sewer. Filth everywhere even in the water. Garbage on my porch, in the hedge, in between the rooms and on the beach. Broken air conditioner, soap dispenser, no bed cover, no water, I had to beg for drinking water when I got back to my room because housekeeping didn’t service my room. Avoid this place at all costs. Less expensive is not always good. The front desk resin refused to give me water and told me I would have to buy it at the store in the morning. The bartender gave me 3 bottles and told me to ignore him. ALL BAD!!!!!.....,,,

Beautiful property

We had a nice big room on the second story which fit 8 of us easily. It was a pretty, clean and comfortable room.

Checking out was a process. Make sure you get down to the front desk early for check out.
