The Ritz-Carlton, Guangzhou

The breakfast was really amazing. The New Year's Eve dinner exceeded our expectations. The location of the hotel is simply fanstatic. My son forgot a jacket and in 2 days we had it in our home. It was a really kind gesture.

The best part of the whole stay was the interaction I had with all the staff, including front desk, concierge, and housekeeper. Felt comfortable during check-in/out progress. All staff are warm, kind, and talk with me just like friends. (which is nice cause it's too tired when communicate in 'official' customer-facing style). Lots of option to choose for breakfast. I love the soup with clams and shrimp :)

Front desk offered the option of room upgrade (with extra fee) when I arrived, and mentioned the best selling point is the city view. The city view itself is nice, but it's a little disappointing that the window is coated with a thin layer of dust.

Some of the staff on the club floor such as Juno and maybe Corrie (I hope that's the right name) provided 5* level service. Juno knows how to engage customers of any age or backgrounds--whenever he was on the floor, everything was timely done and arranged.

Baby crib offered was below standard. The room was a bit overwhelmed with furniture that was not supposed to be there.

Ritz-Carlton staff were impeccable! They were kind and paid attention to detail. Their treatment made my stay memorable. Club Lounge food, fitness center and my room were all excellent.

Wi-Fi could be improved in all areas of the hotel. I experienced weak reception even in my room and other guest areas. Also the air conditioning control panel on the wall seemed to be set at an exact temperature, and I wasn't able to modify room temperature. This could be due to the fact that the building is fully climate controlled, but it would still be nice for guests to have temperature control in their rooms.

They receptionist charged me in my currency not RMB as i asked him and the rate increased about 9% And i am very very upset and i don"t know how to complain against this guy

Make no mistake, this is not Ritz. This is some absolute joke. The breakfast is awful, the staff know English like 5 year olds. The air conditioning is always at very cold and you cannot stop it. They even didn't clean the room for the last two days!!

My family was very happy with our stay and impressed by all the little extras the hotel provided for guests at Christmas. The room was spotless and luxurious, the facilities were well maintained, the lounge area absolutely stunning. The Christmas display was fantastic and all staff were polite. We were very grateful for a chocolate cake waiting for us in the room, which hotel provided as an anniversary gift. Breakfast was very good but both the decoration of the buffet room and the choice seemed a tad below Ritz standard. Plenty of Chinese options but some Western options, though tasty, were quite limited in terms of choice e.g. the cold cuts, cheeses and bread sections.I would have expected a higher quality of hams and cheeses but that's just me being picky. Overall, we had a wonderful stay!

Juno, Noah and Judy were attentive, courteous and wonderfully caring. We stayed for our 20th wedding anniversary. From the moment we arrived they made our stay memorable starting with a room upgrade, decorated with rose petals, balloons and an amazing view of the Canton tower.

I enjoyed my premium room facing the Pearl River and Canton Tower! I was at the Ritz for 2 nights and 2 and half days. It was during beautiful weather and so the pool was perfect and they even warm up the pool. The staff was very kind and were always at your service and ready to help. I also enjoyed that the hotel was really close to a lot of nice places around the city.

I didn’t enjoy that the pool area was filled with a lot of screaming kids, if I’m on vacation to relax, I would like to relax. Other than that everything was great!

Excellent, consistent service - really seeking to do all they could to make sure our stay was enjoyable. We loved the breakfast - a great variety and we even enjoyed some home-made ice cream from their Spanish chef at 9 am! We spent a good amount of time at the pool as well - great views of the skyscrapers as you swim. Excellent housekeeping service coming twice per day.

Dennis at check in was so accomodating, upgraded our room as it was my wife's 50th birthday, & surprised us with balloons /decoations & cake in the room when we were out later.... was perfect,! The room service was timely & easy, the staff in Churchill bar excellent, The Spa beautiful & Limoni Restaurant excellent !
