We hebben een heerlijk verblijf gehad bij Hitgeheim. Als gezin kregen we twee aan een gesloten kamens wat erg prettig was. De service was zeer goed. Tevens 2 avonden heerlijk gegeten (4 gangen) met genoeg diversiteit. Wij zouden hier zeker terug komen.

Die Lage und die Anlage als solche verstzten einem in Afrika-feeling .

Die Anfahrt ûber die Schotterstrasse ist nicht ohne. Nicht Googlemap folgen, sondern die Wegbeschreibung des Hotels gut durchlesen und diese Anfahrt nehmen !

Ganz herzlichen Dank an unsere Gastgeber. Wir hatten einen schönen Aufenthalt. Der Service ist sehr schnell und korrekt. Alle waren sehr freundlich. Die Unterkunft war sauber. Duschgel, Hand Cream, Shower Gel… sind inklusive. Kosten R150 je Stück wenn man es für zu Hause kaufen möchte. Die Außendusche ist super! Schön groß und mit Blick in den blauen Himmel. Der Ausflug in den Addo Elefant Nationalpark war großartig, Getränke und Picknick inklusive.

Die Bilder der Unterkunft bei Booking sind heller, freundlicher und farblich angenehmer als in Wirklichkeit. Wlan ist langsam, man fliegt oft raus. Wir hatten einige kleine Käfer im Zimmer, wegen der dunklen Einrichtung sind sie schlecht zu sehen, als wir es vor Abreise ansprachen, wollte das Hotelpersonal sich sofort kümmern. Bettwäsche war optisch nicht sauber.

Der tolle Ausblick von der Terrasse, die Zimmer Größe & die angebotenen Speisen

Sehr schönes und großes Zimmer mit einem tollen Ausblick, Out- und Indoordusche und einem leckeren Frühstück. Wir haben besonders die Nähe zum Addo geschätzt und waren froh, nach einem langen Tag nicht noch so weit fahren zu müssen.

Leider hat uns die Atmosphäre nicht so angesprochen, da zwar das Personal super nett und zuvorkommend war, jedoch gefühlt sehr distanziert und wenig kommunikativ wirkte. Vorab gab es dafür umso mehr E-Mails, da viele Informationen angefragt wurden, die wir lieber spontan und Vorort entschieden hätten. Das WLAN hat bei uns auf dem Zimmer leider nur selten bzw. schlecht funktioniert.

Hitgeheim is an absolute haven. The staff are friendly and attentive, the food was excellent and the rooms; spacious and comfortable. I would definitely return in a heartbeat.

The location is truly magical with great views and surrounded by nature - no noise from any roads! The gravel driveway (behind the gate) is long enough to make for a good/safe running route, which was an added bonus. The vibe is definitely to book dinner and tours, which we weren't planning on doing and felt a little awkward at check in. I was also surprised that such a luxury stay had the cheapest hair dryer in the room.

No coffee in the room was a let down. There was a kettle with nescafe sachets and truly minuscule mugs, and I thought this didn't suit the luxury of the environment. Coffee on the porch would have been such a dream :(

The Addo tour promoted by the hotel was sub par- that was very disappointing. The lodge should seek to associate it self with better quality.

A fabulous place, so peaceful and beautifully appointed. Highly recommended.

We stayed in a superior suite with two private terraces. Fantastic views. Hotel restaurant was first class with impeccable service. The pool area felt very private with more fantastic views The owner and staff make the place into a unique experience

Small point but the lighting in the room was a little dim.

We were so lucky to have booked room 9 (the one with the private pool). it was a big and comfortable room and bathroom (bath, shower, outdoor shower,…) Breakfast was just perfect with a great view. The staff was excellent, very helpfull and overly friendly. We had booked the Addo morning drive with them, the open car was big and the ranger was funny, smart and kind. You can do the Addo Park with your own car, but I would highly recommend it to do it with the expertise of their guide. As for food, 2 out of the 3 dinners were very good, one was just good, so no complaints 🙌. We wanted to book the Schotia game drive, but it was fully booked, so reserve on time (we just waited too long). in case it’s fully booked, you can try Amakhala - an hour drive from Hitgeheim (good roads, easy to find). All in all we had a magnificant stay with a good balance between adventure and chill.

Great location overlooking the valley. comfortable rooms. loved the outdoor shower and relaxing at the pool. Excellent tour to Addo Elephant park with Saul, one of the guides.

Nothing negative.

A beautiful Lodge where the staff couldn't be nicer. Well organised, delightful and kind. Nothing was too much bother. Even as we left, we found they had washed the car! Above and beyond with fantastic trips.

The long drive took a bit of navigating and we did wonder why a one year old infant was on a 6 hour safari!

Location. Views over the valley. Great breakfast with varied choices.. Good size rooms.

Evening meals - limited to set 4 course meal. Would have preferred more choice. Addo Elephant Safari, we enjoyed the experience but felt it was far too long (6 hours).

nothing . it’s well organised luxury

we had a wonderful stay - the rooms were really big and very clean. the view from the terrace and the outdoor shower were particular highlights!

property is a 20 mins drive from Addo - we did the Addo Safari and a fair bit of time to get to the park. also, felt the safari could have left earlier.
