It's a great experience to stay in SugarBay resort, definitely will go back.

It had been a very enjoyable stay in Sugar Bay Resort. Special thanks to Latina at the concierge who has been super helpful. All the staff in the resort are very friendly, including those in the concierge, restaurants, room services and on the beach. We told the concierge that the bathroom fan is not working, by the time we came back from the beach few hours later, it was fixed, super!! All restaurants are good, quite a lot of choices and foods are delicious. The resort is right on the beautiful beach. The sand is white and soft.

Only issue visitors should notice is all restaurants are closed from 4 pm to 6:30 pm.

We would definitely recommend Sugar Bay to anyone wanting exceptional staff, food and beach.

The staff is beyond exceptional. The reviews regarding staff was why we booked Sugar Bay and they exceeded our expectations. We can’t say enough about how dedicated they are. The resort is the perfect size. It’s only 3 stories so you can take the stairs if you wish and the beach and restaurants are not overrun by guests. The housekeeping woman we had took great pride in cleaning our room and placed beautiful hibiscus in our room. The extra touches are always appreciated. The beach was beautiful as long as seaweed didn’t come on shore as the staff did not clean it up. The food was exceptional. Every night there was something different which was really nice. Also Collin’s restaurant opens daily for lunch offering a daily special, fish, burgers, hotdog, etc. There are 2 specialty restaurants UMI and Sizzle that can be booked and are both excellent.

The only downside was when seaweed wasn’t cleaned up off the beach as sand fleas thrived off of it and then off of us.

Very poor

The cleanliness

Where do I start? Regular check in was scheduled at 4pm. We got there at 2:30pm where we initially requested early check in. They told us the room will be available at 4pm. At 4:35 we finally got our room after a number of unanswered questions from the persons at the front desk you were of no assistance. When we got to our room which was on the upper floor of a building with no elevator, keep in mind we are travelling with a baby with stroller etc, the door isn't opening. At 4:53pm we finally got into our room. We requested to change rooms with one more accessible to our needs with the baby. They stated that is an upgrade room and I would need to pay more. We finally got to the room at 6:pm. At this time, 2 hours of our stay has been wasted. When i got into the room I was so frustrated I said anything will do so we accepted tbe room. After 1 hour, the Air-Condition was not cooling. I complained about it the next day where later that day the staff said it was fixed. When I got back to the room after a long hot day, the AC again is not working. I complained again but nothing was done. In the night my wife and baby can't sleep because how hot the place was. The kitchen staff was not accomodating to us being vegetarians. Theh said yes they would have something available but no one was of help. The bartenders were very rude like I needed to pay them for a drink in the all-inclusive resort. My do not disturb sign was on my door yet housekeeping keeps banging on my door to clean the room. The room from across mine, the tourist was locked out of his room so they had to break down his door to get in. The day after, with my do not disturb sign on the door, maintaince decides it's a good idea to come to try and fix the door with lots of pounding, drilling etc. To this extent the door still was not fixed. I will definitely not recommend this hotel to anyone

I didn't know much about the facilities maybe a map of the resort or hotel should be given at check in ... imagine I didn't even know where the pool was until the night before check out ..also I didn't get hot water in the shower

for Barbados makes a great stay for the price

great beach front - good idea to have the windbreaker rocks…. good choice on restaurants …. beach staff very helpful in setting up loungers and shade umbrellas for guests

swimming pool too shallow….beachloungers not as comfortable as might be (the ones by the pool better)…could have done with another lift for bedrooms

First time at Sugar Bay but very enjoyable so will more than likely return.

Location and beach great - food very good for all inclusive. The steak house and fusion restaurants both excellent.

Great staff. Great location. Fantastic beach

Steps down to room (317)- no hand rail with slippery tiled floor. Potentially dangerous.🚑 Slippery tiles in shower. Airco in room pointing directly at pillow area - silly design leading to stiff neck Food looked good but was bland in taste.

Superb

i chose Sugar Bay for my anniversary trip with my husband and i have no regrets! The service at this restaurant was excellent! Staff went out of their way to make you comfortable! Nikita at front desk was excellent and helpful in planning activities. Bartenders Joan and Ackeem were great as well. Food is delicious at all restaurants. Overall good value for money. Would definitely stay there again.

Outdoor dining is king of hampered by the presence of pigeons. Isn't the hotel's fault but it did affect outdoor dining experience.

Rude Supervisor

Room was clean. Lady in flowered dress (wedding planner) was exceptional and attentive. Gemini was nice. Rhianna was nice.

Some staff were rude and not friendly. Flies everywhere at lunch and made it inpossible to eat. Latina supervisor was extremely rude and lacked basic customer service. She needs to be retrained in dealing with customers. She lacked tact in quelling a situation and was dismissive and very rude. Food was basic with little choices and was not hot enough. The front desk was exceptionally slow... Although the room was clean we won't be returning and won't recommend since the tone of the supervisor was unbecoming and unacceptable.

Sugar Bay- Great place to Stay!

The room was comfortable and well-situated near the beach. The beach is clean and lovely. There were lovely chaise lounges, beds, umbrellas and hammocks. Enough for everyone! Staff is very friendly and eager to help!

The breakfast buffet could have been better. Not enough options or variety.

Very disappointing experience. Don’t pay for all inclusive.

The hotel is so not worth the money. We felt we had been conned by paying for the all inclusive. The service was really poor. We’d paid a lot to be there and it was all so basic. If your looking for all inclusive, pay that bit extra and go to somewhere like o2 hotel and spa which is worlds apart!

The poor service, the rooms were dated and the beach beds were so uncomfortable. No one bothered to give us a tour of the hotel when we arrived or talk us through the activities on offer. The staff were verging on rude. The only bonus is the beach, but only once during our weeks stay were we served drinks.

The beach cafe experience of food wine and senior personnel totally ruined the start of the holiday

Beach cafe food was abysmal, the main restaurant is self service for both breakfast and dinner. The staff were pleasant and the food choice reasonable but the wines offered were undrinkable. I would liken the white to vinegar and the reds to diesel

location, clean, beach and facilities … saw even monkey on the grounds

being asked to move to different place on beach due to wedding … they should have prior notice and mark the place. also lack of beach towels if u come in the afternoon

Great hotel has a special happy atmosphere with great beach and palm trees

Lovely beach and could walk a good distance along sands. Happy friendly atmosphere. Good food. Sushi restaurant fab.

Disappointed with size of room. Was small and needed renovating. I think we were unlucky with room. Others seemed better. Pool was all different levels and shallow. Great for kids but not ideal adult pool. Lovely to sit by with nice cushions. Disappointed no cushions on beach sunbeds.

An unforgettable stay

We spent 10 days in this wonderful hotel. Everything was absolutely perfect. The warm welcome and the kindness of the staff, the cleanliness, the excellent food of the different restaurants, the cocktails, the bartenders (thank you for teaching us how to play "Bajan style" dominoes). The ocean view was perfect, the pool with bar, Karma Spa etc. I would book nights again without hesitation. Not to mention the charm of whistling frogs at night. In short, one of our most beautiful stays.

I did not want to leave and I can’t wait to go back

what wasn’t to love? the food, the private beach, the comfortable rooms all with balconies for a quiet morning with coffee? oh yes - the people that work for sugar bay are the best of the best. they truly make you feel like you’re part of the family. I had my birthday during my stay and I can honestly say it was the best birthday I’ve ever had in a LONG time!

There was an issue with replacing of toilet paper on the last day we were there but I’d noticed a lot of new people that night at dinner so chalked it up to changeover day stress - other than that everything was perfect!
