We traveled with teenagers around the Osa Peninsula. Las Caletas was a favorite for our family!
Las Caletas is a true gem. A small place with huge views and lots of adventures - from the tours you can take to Cano Island and Corcovado to the beaches you can hike to from the lodge. Fantastic views, beautiful trails from the property. Lots of wildlife- toucans, black hawk nest, parrots, monkeys. The food was really amazing and the staff were incredible. We will be back for sure!!!
There is no air conditioning, but there are fans in the rooms. The rooms are lovely, simple and clean. If you are an AC person, this is not the place for you. If you love nature, ocean breezes, and the outdoors you will love it here.

Beautiful property on a coastal trail with excellent food.
Loved the food, they have a great cook. Daniel was really accommodating and helpful. The facilities are gorgeous, and it is right above the beach.
It is a very hot and humid place and the rooms do not have air-conditioning.

Very disappointing ownership
Food and staff was amazing! Great location as well.
We were told that we were able to leave a day early and when we went to check out we were told they werent able to do it anymore due to booking.com and our boat was about ready to leave. The room's fan was extremely loud and shaking and was honestly a bit scary. We would not have left early if we werent earlier told it would be no problem.

Great location, nice walks, warm water, but the beach did not have too much sand and was a bit rocky
We stayed in one of the two tent rooms. These were affordable and a great value. Plus there was a bit of ocean view from the room. The dinners were fantastic. Only served at 7 PM was a bit later than we would have liked for a heavy meal, but the chef was magnificent, and every meal delicious. It was easy to arrange lunch at a reasonable price for days we were not out touring.
It was very hot and muggy and the fan just made the room bearable in the heat of the day. More cooling options, or a 2nd fan would have made the room more comfortable.

Another magical setting by the Pacific, in the jungle, and among the wildlife
Las Caletas is a very special place in a very special country. It was set on its own little bay, principally accessible only by boat, but you could walk to Drakes Bay too. Providing both breakfast and dinner, on the expectation that guests would generally be out doing tours or visits during the day - which they were only to pleased to help you arrange the lodge had a very peaceful atmosphere, lovely gardens to sit in, active and colourful wildlife all around, and Daniel (i hope I have remembered his name - he is doing a degree in marine biology) who just ran everything so smoothly. Because it is quite small everyone eats at the same time in the evening so you tend to get to know some of the other guests, making it friendly as well as relaxing. There is a wide range of activities available - but I would recommend that you get these booked before you arrive as some get booked out quite well in advance - although Daniel will do what he can. The beach is good and the sea quite swimmable, but there can be quite a pull when you try to get out!
I cannot think of anything

If you are looking for a minimum comfort this is not your place
Outstanding staff, specially Daniel, the manager, who is the soul of the place. Great location and views.
This place is definitely NOT a hotel or lodge, it is an old camping with tents and different sized cabins, no comfort at all - no space to move or even leave your stuff, intermittent hot water, irregular wifi and most important: no air conditioning and/or pool , which is absolutely necessary in these area, as heat and humidity are terrible. No way to cool down after a jungle tour or even a short walk. It is imposible to dry your clothes in days. Talking to other people we found out that almost all lodges in the area do have aircon, some of them also a swimming pool. We left a day earlier than planned because of this. Very poor value for money.

Ingmar and Ingrids stay at Las Caletas
Living close to nature in a lush and green environment. Awakening to the sound of birds and howling monkeys. Very good and tasty food. Helpful and very serviceminded staff.
Private toilet was separate from room/tent. Although just 20 meters away.
