Would not go again.

Room, pool, location

AC didn’t work. We asked them to fix it but that didn’t happen. Also zero flexibility when we needed to change dates due to a severe accident.

A little oasis of a hotel on Holbox.

What a little oasis this hotel is on a very busy island. It is slightly on the edge of town before the very large and super expensive resorts begin. But a short walk to the busy part of town. It is also near the local shops and restaurants which are about half the price of places in the more tourist area and along the beach. We were a family of four so we booked two rooms. One with one king size bed and another with two doubles for our teen boys. Both rooms came with nice bathrooms with double sinks and lovely walk in showers. The beds were firm but with toppers that made them very comfortable. I would have preferred feather pillows but hotels just don’t seem to provide them anymore. We were provided with nice shampoo, moisturiser, hand wash and body wash in large refillable bottles. Towels for the shower and separate towels for the beach. Each room had a balcony with lovely comfy hammocks which we used as did most people staying at the hotel. There are two pools which are small but refreshing. Also the outdoor showers were great for washing off the salt from the sea or chlorine. The beach is a stone’s throw from the hotel with beds to lie on. If I could make one suggestion it would be to supply some shade on the beach beds and chairs. Not just the ones at the hotel. We didn’t eat breakfast at the hotel but ate lunch twice. The food was fresh and delicious. Lightly seasoned which is unusual for Mexico where food can be very salty. All the staff were friendly and helpful. Tip: Take a taxi from the ferry!! Worth every penny. Not all the footpaths are in tact and it was a nightmare with wheelie suitcases.

Chilled out Holbox stay

Lovely rooms overlooking two swimming pools with hammocks on the balcony, so chilled. Really good breakfasts. Helpful reception staff.

Overall, it was a wonderful experience.

The beach is beautiful. The town is charming. Nice hotel and staff.

The only negative thing is that it felt like everything was expensive and the guided experience to the lights felt like a scam, since there were no visible phosphorescent lights when we got there.

Lovely hotel but expensive.

The location is great and the garden is lovely. Staff are very friendly and helpful. The breakfast choices are tasty but the coffee isn't very good.

There's a lot of road noise. The rooms are overpriced, but prices are high on the island in general.

Nice hotel, quiet, close to beach and village - recommended.

We know Holbox well and Casa Iguana is a nice semi-modern traditional hotel, beside the beach, short walk to the village centre. Included breakfast was a real benefit and it was a full breakfast from the complete menu - no continental shortcuts. The room was spacious, bed comfortable and shower excellent.

The internet/wifi was spotty - not functional in our room (no. 9) and required walking closer to reception to obtain strong enough signal. While spacious with a main room and an entrance room, it would have benefited from a table and chairs to make use of the space. Be warned that Holbox is subject to large amounts of sargassum seaweed that can cover the beaches for 10 to 30 feet into the water making access and swimming unpleasant. This was the case during our visit (Feb).

Superb

Good location close to beach, 10 min walk away from centre, which is easy to walk on the sand roads. Breakfast is basic and beach is 50 mtr away across the small sand road. 2 seperate 2 floor builidngs which each a small swimming place. Nice terras overviewing the swimming pool

Isolation of the room is not that good, so if neighbours are sitting outside you can listen in without problem. But as the noise of centre is far away we didn't had any problem

Great location, solid included breakfasts. Staff were lovely. Pretty little hotel & grounds, although no unshaded beach beds.

Unfortunately a side effect of being nearly beachfront is a heavy mosquito presence on the grounds starting at dusk. Likely better the further you are from the rainy season, but it sucked to not really get to use the pools in the evening. Beds were very uncomfortable and sloped in weird places. Shower not very warm or powerful. Wifi terrible but that’s true in a lot of the island.

- Located on the beach - Beautiful location - Easy walking distance to Holbox central square - Great breakfast - Friendly staff - Large bedroom with strong A/C - Rooms cleaned with fresh towels - 2 swimming pools - Mosquito net on the door was great in preventing bites - The bedroom TV can connect to YouTube and Netflix - Can easily hire bikes at reception

- We arrived at 11 pm due to delays with our flight. Because of this we missed the reception hours. Travelling from the UK meant we had no access to data and couldn't connect to the hotels WiFi. I had to visit the hotel opposite, connect to their WiFi and Whats app the manager for instructions on how to access the room. It was stressful after a long flight and we struggled to find the phone number. Just be aware the reception shuts at 10 pm and plan your travels around this. Small things: - Breakfast service can be slow but the food is great once it arrives. - Breakfast advertised 'Tea' but there was never any. - The WiFi went down on the last two days of our stay. Overall the whole of Holbox doesn't have great WiFi so this is something to just bear in mind.

Exceptional

The rooms are very clean and nice; and the food is delicious!! also the beach is beautiful and the hotel is at walking distance from downtown

The only point is that they don’t have very good service on the beach, normally if you want drinks there you would have to go back to the bar for them by yourself

A perfect place to unwind in paradise.

The staff here was absolutely wonderful and will make sure everything you need is taken care of. I booked a tour through the reception and utilized the spa - both great experiences! The food is fresh and delicious. The rooms are comfortable and all that you need for a trip to Holbox. I traveled here as a single female and never questioned my safety once throughout my time on Holbox. I look forward to returning with my family on another trip.

Our beachfront room was expansive but we were next to the bar and it was noisy with the kids and people sitting on our balcony at breakfast.
