Very good

the deck and the field were great to catch some rays of sunshine. Al, the owner was very nice. he keeps the kitchen stocked for general use so we could make our own breakfast from everything he had in the kitchen. there were eggs, bacon, ham, cheese, coffee, jus, bread.

we had a room at the road which was quite noisy.

Very good

The friendly common spaces are very conducive to meeting other guests and encouraging conversation. The spacious property is lovely. The room was nicely appointed, very clean, and the bed was fine.

Traffic noise on the side facing the road. It did quiet down considerably during the night.

Beautiful property and the lodge is wonderfully decorated. The towels were very thick and great!

For as nicely decorated as it is, Al should invest in more luxurious bedding. The blankets were very thin and it was cold. He also needs to pay a good cleaner; the room was full of cobwebs and dust.

Convenient for the area

Very tired / dated place. Rooms not that clean. Cold - heating not on on arrival and tiny heater took hours to get room warm (no heating at all in bathroom). Bedroom door locks very insecure as work on a 4 digit code - it is worrying that any past guests could potentially just come in to the room.

I was pleasantly surprised what I saw when I arrived. loved my pet room!! so great and safe for my dog❤️

the deck was too crowded. lots of kids all day. a little rickety in places.

Extraordinary, warm, serene, doesn’t feel like a hotel

Huge garden surrounded by trees where you can read, relax, play. Private river access and floatable equipment. Beautiful building No fuss management, laid back and warm community feeling. Walking distance to downtown.

Nothing. No AC and that some rooms only have bathtubs (no showers) may be non-ideal for some but we were fine. You can use the common shower if needed.

Quaint riverside lodge

The place is within walking distance to town. 6 minutes to be exact. Big spacious outdoor area, perfect for stargazing at night. River access with a dock in the back. A great place for water toys, boards & canoes. The owner is super chill. Very family friendly. Plenty of games available for the whole family outside. Quaint and inviting. A weekend getaway in one place. Romantic and reminiscent of a simpler time.

Room facing the front gets a lot of traffic noise in the morning, but the pros still greatly outweigh any con.

Better use the camping grounds

The guests at the lodge were fun, everyone was friendly and super nice. The lodge has a goldrush charm. It also has great access to the Russian river in a quiet spot.

I'm sorry to say, but this was by far my worst experience at a hotel, the second after a cheap motel 6 in LA 20 years ago when I was young and penniless. The lodge has its charm, being preserved since the 40s, but it ends there. Rooms are tiny, and unclean (crumbles of pretzels on the floor, the dust of several months under the bed, spider webs all around). The beds are small for two (not even queen-size), and there are no side bed cabinets since the bed was against the wall on one side and next to a door on the other (I have a CPAP machine that I couldn't use). No AC, no TV, no hot water at 6 am in the morning.

Felt like summer camp, in the best way!

Such an incredible location! Al, the owner, has everything you need to have the best time on the Russian River: a dock right on the river, canoes and kayaks, badminton, volleyball, ping pong table, and more!

Quite a few spiders in our room but to be expected in the forest.
