Cute bungalows allow you to be close to nature without sacrificing modern creature comforts like plumbing and air-conditioning. Friendly and helpful staff helped me schedule excursions and were very accommodating. Close to the beach and dining. Or just spend the afternoon relaxing in your hammock. The water on-site is potable. Each bungalow has full kitchen with stove and refrigerator.

The staff were great and always available to help and the location is close to the beach and less noisy than most places in Santa Teresa.

Noisy neighbours (people not the chickens), quite far away from town especially if walking at night, bed wasn’t comfortable & room was quite dark. No option to have the bathroom cleaned or fresh towels throughout stay.

Amazing host that made us feel very welcome and went above and beyond to make our experience as memorable as possible! Close to beach, great food, safe for two female travellers, amazing relaxed vibe with a great patio to unwind on at the beginning or end of the day.

Buenda Onda and the owners are wonderful. We stayed in late April and were met with luscious gardens and the sound of howler monkeys. Yes there are roosters next door that crow and monkeys that wake you early, but truly I loved this because it got me up and motivated. We are a couple in our late 30s, professionals, no kids. So let that serve you as it may. We were greeted by the lovely owner and were provided with local beers and coffee and a drip coffee maker. Excellent. We had booked the last room available and it turns out that one did not have an air conditioner - be aware that one room does not! Our hostess graciously moved us to a room with a/c and it was needed and appreciated. Our room was one of the closest to the road, so we heard a lot of the car noise on the busy street but truthfully that was not that bad. The room was cozy and lovely. If you are worried about big insects and spiders and snakes (because I really was) we did not see a single one. We did see an incredible web while in the outdoor shower but that was honestly it. The shower and toilet are outside, so if you're the type of person who can't manage that you might stay away. Overall, this place was awesome. The only tricky thing is that it isn't actually beachfront; you will need to cross the small road and walk down a path to the beach but the location is quiet and about 1/2 mile walking distance from the main shops and restaurants. When we wanted to take a trip to Isla Tortuga the hostess arranged all of it and the tour company picked us up right at our front gate (Isla Tortuga was worth the trip if you're contemplating). Overall we enjoyed our stay.

The garbage bins out front are a tiny unappealing but did not bother us. This is not beachfront, but across the street and down a pathway. The rooster is loud but part of the charm.

We loved the location, comfort and air con. The bungalow itself was absolutely beautiful and the outdoor shower was very cool.

Loved the character of the simple huts immersed in tropical foliage and atmosphere of a small village in the jungle. The outside showers were really special making contact with nature. Great location for the beach and local shops/restaurants.

Neighbor has a very noisy rooster crowing most of night and all day, but chickens/roosters are an important part of the Costa Rican culture. They are treated like a domesticated animal. No fault of this property owner, and you’ll find them everywhere you stay here. Even our hotel has them wandering inside!

Loved the local coffee that was provided and the host was lovely. A perfect cozy little bungalow in a great location.

The bungalows were so cute and tucked away a short walk from the beach and santa Teresa restaurants and bars. The couple running the place have done an excellent job at building such a beautiful space and providing excellent hospitality, even offering us a welcome beer and letting us check in early. Also the beds were very comfy and shower was great.

We had the bungalow nearest to the road so had a broken sleep both nights with the constant sound of lorries sounding like they were going to plough into us, the neigbours of the property next door also were blasting music extremely loud very early so we didnt have the best night sleep, at no fault of the owners may I add.

we had booked the room for 3 nights and finally we stayed 6! Unfortunately, there is no cleaning service only in case you stay for 1 week or more! This bothered us a bit because due to the sea and the sand but also the nature, the room needs cleaning even in 3 days and definitely clean towels.

The grass bungalows are beautifully designed. I loved the outdoor shower and patio. There were several howler monkeys in the trees, which I adore. The location is set off a little way from the busier parts of Santa Theresa but close to beach. The owners were very helpful and hospitable. Helped me rent an ATV which they delivered and picked up at Bueno Onda.

The adorable bungalow unfortunately wasn’t very sound proof so could hear almost everything outside (roosters next door at 5am, neighbors, traffic, etc). I made mistake of booking without air conditioning (which they have available), so it was a little uncomfortable and steamy. Otherwise everything was amazing. I’d highly recommend this beautiful place to stay in a Santa Theresa.

We very much enjoyed our stay at Buena Onda! Our bungalow was one of a kind - we were only 5 mins away from the beach, enjoyed our outdoor shower and saw squirrels and monkeys living in the mango trees around the hotel! The host was very kind and helped us organizing our first surf lessons. Would love to stay here again!

Sometimes it could get hot during the night because there's no air conditioning in the room (only a fan) - BUT I guess that was because the hotel has a very eco-friendly concept.

Staying at Buena Onda is a little piece of paradise! The ecolodges are so beautifully designed and better than the photos. Simple, elegant, and cosy. A simple kitchen and fridge has everything you need to make simple meals. Really useful for longer stays. The bi-weekly yoga lessons on the rancho are wonderful! The outdoor bathroom is a delight, especially since you can watch Howler monkeys whilst showering! The hosts, Margherita and Alberto are such lovely humans. Always happy to help and go out of their way to make sure you are having a good time. I would definitely come and stay here again.

This is no fault of the property but the road that it lies on is a little loud during the day. The payoff is at night when it's quiet and you can hear jungle noises and the ocean!

This is in no way the fault of the hotel but their neighbors have roosters who start roosting around 4am in the morning. Hard go get any sleep after that!

The design of the bungalows makes you feel hidden in the forest even though you're close to the main road. It's a beautiful place and I highly recommend it. Alberto & Margherita are welcoming and it's clear they've put a lot of their effort for this place to live up to its name, Buena Onda.
