We loved our stay at the Inn by the Sea and will definitely be back. We had a terrace room which included a long hall way, large double sink bathroom, large bedroom space with 2 queen beds, 2 balconies and a large terrace. We had more than enough space for our family. My boys thought it was the coolest room! Although it is dated, it was very comfortable and clean.
When we arrived, we were greeted by the best front desk staff. Juan Jose checked us in and he was the greatest. I let him know that I did see some hair in the shower upon check in and he sent in the cleaning staff right away. They cleaned the whole bathroom again just to be sure it was perfect. I have never had a hotel do that for me.
This property is walking distance to everything and we loved the amenities of the pool and gym pass. Our view wasn't great but we still enjoyed sitting on the terrace every morning to eat breakfast.

Short couples weekend. The place was perfect for us. While the hotel is a little older, it was in great shape. All the facilities were excellent. For the price point in that location... perfect.

We had an amazing time - we especially liked the water pressure in the shower.
The hotel wasn't as close to the beach as i had hoped and our view was a telephone pole, but we enjoyed the stay. We did not receive a VIP upgrade - we did upgrade our room, but we had to pay for it. they did take one day of parking off our bill

This hotel qas amazing for the price, location, comfort, cleanliness and service. Everyone who worked here was so friendly and helpful. It's within walking distance of everything, I would recommend Richard Walkers Pancake House and Harry's Coffee Shop and Classic Burger. Those were our favorite places to eat.

Beautiful and comfortable hotel within a short walk to the water. Last minute Christmas trip and it was an amazing vacay! All of the staff were great! We asked for a microwave and it arrived within 5 minutes of the request. Rooms are clean and spacious, and the balconies were roomie. The pool could have been a tad bit warmer for the winter, but we kept moving and it wasn't too bad. The variety of options for snacks, coffees, and hot cocoa were a great addition down by the pool area. La Jolla parking can be a pain sometimes and the hotel seemed to have plenty of parking to accommodate guests. We will definitely stay here again!

Lovely classic hotel in a very convenient location. Walking distance to some great restaurants and near the harbor seals and sea lions. Appreciated the lounge with hot drinks and microwave.

We stayed New Year's weekend. The property is old but has been well kept and you can't beat the location. We had a partial ocean view from the 4th floor and spent a ton of time on our balcony. There's tons of restaurants within walking distance and about a 5 minute walk to see the water and watch the sea lions. We will stay again. It was our first time staying in La Jolla and not sure if it's the time of year or if it's like this all the time but evenings and mornings were super quiet with limited foot traffic along the ocean. Was a perfectly relaxing getaway.

Been friendly upgraded from first floor to 5th floor with a cove view. Location was so great that I could walk to everywhere I wanted in beautiful La Jolla. Will come again.

Last minute decision to "sleep" in La Jolla. Stayed at all other hotels in the vicinity and was pleasantly surprised. It's been remodeled, easy parking, they even have a washer and dryer which would be great in the summer. Only draw back is no onsite restaurant however they do deliver breakfast from The Cottage.

I've stayed many times at Inn by the Sea, and have recommended it to family & friends. The location is unbeatable, the rooms are clean, and the staff is very friendly & helpful. I wouldn't stay anywhere else!

Everything was fine- older hotel, great location. The only complaint was the bedding was very light so we had to put the heater on to sleep otherwise would have been cold. Bedding could be better for sure. Everything else was fine!

This hotek is very old and it shows. We had water temperature issues with the showers. In the first room the water would suddenly change from mildly warm to very cold and stay cold for several minutes. In the second room, the water temperature also changed from hot to warm, but not as drastically.
The beds here are extremely comfy but unfortunately the minimal parking and the water temperature would deter me from every staying here agin.

It’s a great place to start your journey to La Jolla. It’s close to wherever you’ll be headed to. Beautiful beaches, dining area and shops. The hotel is clean and quiet. We have a great time there.
