We enjoyed our stay at this resort although we found it a bit tired and in need of updating. Restaurant staff lacked basic customer service skills and the food offer was ok but nothing to get excited about. The pool area was nice but the bar area was untidy and a little uninviting. Good location for exploring the upper keys and southern Everglades. Would not return to this hotel.

Place is very beautiful, but the staff is not up to par. Someone in the staff tried to poison my fiancé while we were at the pool with our 4 children and hid a Bleach pellet in her cup. Se drank it and noticed it tasted odd. We immediately went to the front desk where they some employees were very nice and showed concern, but once upper management was notified, they were extremely rude and did absolutely nothing to make us feel in any way safe in that facility. Unfortunate but we will never stay there again.

Hotel was mediocre. The pictures on the internet make it look much nicer than it is in person. If you’re unfortunate enough to get a room that faces the highway, you’ll hear every car and truck that goes by all night long. The bed was comfortable and the room was clean, but the room was extremely noisy. The balcony overlooked a parking lot.

Resort was well maintained and amenities were fine. However, the housekeeping was a bit lax, as in not fabulous. We had to have our room changed due to some mold in the grout of the bathroom. I just thought that in a resort of this expense that it wouldn’t be a problem.

The cleaning could have more thorough. Vacuuming and spills on the floor (previous guests) were not completely cleaned up. They did immediately address any needs. No microwaves in the rooms which would have been handy. Restaurant had an ok menu for breakfast but very limited for evening meals. We did have a nice visit and would return.

For the money I would recommend finding another resort. We did not have hot water our first day. The bay view is a little deceiving. From our room it was mostly a view of the rental building and past that water. The rooms were okay, clean but felt dated. The sheets and pillows were comfortable and the room had a big TV and coffee maker and mini frig. We rented two rooms and for the price should have had a nicer place to stay. The check in and check out process was easy and there was plenty of parking. The pool was nice. The wait staff at the restaurants were not friendly and service was just average.

The amenities at the hotel were great. The staff were very friendly and helpful. We were able to find food in most price and category options. The pool and hot tub were well maintained. The Key Largo area seems to be better suited to downtime, or relaxing.

We had an amazing stay at the Reef and thoroughly enjoyed! From the check-in with Luana and our drinks by the pool and being taken care of by Carlos. The rooms were nice and bright. The grounds are well taken care of - some age shows but overall it's great place! I would definitely come back.

The A/C was off! A lot of heat in the room and to top it off too much smell of Clorox! Terrible! My children are allergic and as soon as they entered the room they began to sneeze, I told the reception to see if they could clean again just to ventilate the room a little and they told me that they could not do anything! Terrible

The pool and beach area were great. The bar always had a line though and it was pricey! The beach sand was compacting sand so not soft. My kids chose to stay at the pool over the beach. The room was run down. The bed was complete mush and I’m pretty sure even though we had a 2 queen bed room our beds were actually double beds (my husband and I hardly fit together on the bed and we have a queen bed at home and fit just fine.) While it was nice that housekeeping came everyday, our room was never fully restocked (like water, correct amount of towels, bed fully made.) For the price we paid, we were expecting better. Our view was the neighbors backyard even though we purchased a partial ocean view (we had no view of ocean at all.) We called to have our room switched but were not successful. Overall, we would choose to stay elsewhere next time for the price.

Nice property with a relaxed atmosphere for families. We spent two nights there. Although the weather was a bit chilly and cloudy, we were able to enjoy the property grounds and the Gus Grille restaurant. The sunset was beautiful.

Usually, I would not give any hotel I had stayed a negative review. When we arrived there all things going well, the environment was great, even I had talked to Shirly at front desk to plan my Christmas stay when back from Key West. But overnight experience makes me have to find other place for my plan, when I closed the balcony door at night, A sewer smell getting strong and stronger, I feel I sleep in a sewer tunnel. if this is the only one room have that problem, I really appreciate Luana picked that room for me! if all others room have same problem, I definitely do not recommend this resort.

We had a brief stop over on our return to Miami airport. Everything about the resort was very good friendly and helpful staff, good restaurants and bars. We stayed the week after Thanksgiving so all facilities were quiet - this suited us and we would not hesitate returning in the future

We enjoyed our stay. The resort was comfortable, clean rooms, good beds, nice pool. Plenty of lounge chairs, nice private beach, pool bar (but you have to walk up to it to get service, which is fine by us). There is stuff to do, like water sports activities, volleyball, corn hole etc. Pretty views. My only thing was that when I booked a room, the view shown on the picture was from building 1 overlooking the pool and bay. The actual room was in building 2 which still has the same view of the bay but a roof of the shop in front and there were delivery trucks coming. Overall all was good but I still think it is a bit overpriced when you include resort fee.

Pur family stayed here for thanksgiving break and it was so beautiful! The beach was quiet and serene and we were able to let thr kids runnariund without worrying about them getting lost or hurt. The grounds were well kept and the staff was nice. We'd definitely go back.

Pros: Private beach area. Pool large enough for all guests. Plenty of chairs and palapas. Convenient bar by pool. Easy check in. Large room and AC worked great. Nice view of bay. Large shower and good pressure. Loved the lighted tiki torches at night. Beautiful sunset. Room key is a bracelet which is convenient. Housekeeping did a great job each day. Cons: not anyone’s fault but wifi and internet down when we checked in so unable to work remotely so lost a days work. Didn’t come on until about 11pm that night. Locked out of room next day also due to internet outage from day before when we checked in. Pool towels really small. Bartenders not friendly at all. Would be nice to have pool and beach service for drinks and food rather than having to keep going to the bar. Music played by calypso player was the same loop all day and everyday. Needs to change up the music as cannot listen to Disneys Under the Sea one more time! This was my fourth stay at the resort and I will still go back as I love the location, view, room size and facilities.

Double queen bedroom, one queen mattress lumpy and needed using only one queen since the other was uncomfortable. Trim and paint around room was moldy in places, door to outside patio frame was filthy, patio furniture was moldy, shower drain was damaged and icky, water pressure in shower was very very low, one day towels changed no wash clothes or hand towels and water bottles and peeling damaged labels. There was also street noise that came through closed doors. Onsite grill restaurant door was just okay, but no gluten free options, location was nice and view of bay was nice.

The location is beautiful! Reception was well organized and we appreciated the free coffee and cookies. The gift bag was also a nice touch! But the resort shows a lot of cosmetic wear and tear. Scuffs all over the walls, soap scum on the shower door, dirty chairs/candles at the restaurant, etc. The resort needs some major updating.

We were happy with our stay here. Our room was very clean and the property offered all the amenities we required. Specifically, the boat ramp that can accommodate small boats and jet-ski's AND the basin with overnight docking for this. This is a 1st come, 1st served feature. I imagine this may get crowded in the high season, but this was the primary reason we stayed here and we really loved this feature. Will 100% stay again!
