We stay here a lot and this time the service at the Front desk was terrible. I made my reservation through Hotels.com and ended up adding a night , so I had two reservations. Explained at the front desk and sent email to hotel prior to arrival. (No reply back). So when I got there, I asked for a certain area of the hotel which was not available. She put me in a room right off the elevator and Ice machine as her first choice for us. As soon as I got there I called to be moved to a room that was not off the elevator. Then, they came and told us we had to check out when we clearly had gone over the fact that I had two reservations and was told I would stay in same room for both nights. Then the key didn’t work so we had to get new keys on the second day. I had to make at least three calls to the front desk to keep confirming these details. The new room was old and the bath faucets are loose and move all over the wall. No extra supplies were in the room. All product is in big containers now that anyone can manipulate and mess with. Gross to use the same bottled product that others have. If you take a bath, you have to stand up to get soap and shampoo which was not fun or safe. No blankets for the bed in room. It was just. A huge disappointment to find our hotel not at all as we have experienced in the past. No one seemed to try to help us, we had to keep contacting to make things right for us. So many distractions for the fact we had two reservations.

The stay was excellent and next to the river. I would stay her again in the future. I ate breakfast in the hotel restaurant and again, awesome views of the river. Thank you.

A little outdated but nice rooms, comfortable beds and warm cookies. Staff was very friendly.

Easy, simple check in, wonderful housekeeping services, the restaurant was a definite plus. The room was comfortable, clean, and the river view balcony was great when having coffee in the morning

The hotel was very pretty on the exterior and interior. The hotel staff were very courteous, professional, and took care of issues pretty quickly. When we got into our room, it looked very clean and modern except for the tv. It was a small tv with a remote that didn’t want to work. The beds were pretty comfortable but needs added cushioning such as an extra pillow top.
Now onto the bad part : the Animas Grille. We went to the restaurant at the hotel, since it advertised prime rib, which would’ve been perfect for our wedding anniversary dinner IF we had received service after being seated. The waiter gave us a glass of water then ignored us for 40 MINUTES! Our waiter, and the other waitstaff, completely ignored us even though they walked past us over a couple of dozen times within those 40 minutes. (We are an interracial couple and we’re the only interracial couple at the restaurant at the time as well as the only one ignored—coincidence? I think not.) We got fed up and complained to the front desk manager who promptly tried to fix this issue. He did get us seated in a different area. The prime rib was subpar after the irritation of being mistreated by 3 of the waitstaff earlier. The waitress wasn’t very knowledgeable about the menu and had to consistently ask the chef in order to answer our questions. To make up for the earlier mistreatment, we received free desserts. My husband had a very small piece of cheesecake and I received burnt donuts that made me sick.

Room very spacious & comfortable with a lovely view of the river & right by the Animas river trail. Walkable to Main Street & Durango train station. Lots of dining options.
Had 4 EV destination chargers (2 Tesla), unexpected perk.

The property was very nice.
Breakfast was good.
Very nice, prompt, helpful and informative waiter at breakfast.
Dinner service - not so much. We left after waiting 45 min. for the waiter/bartender to come back to take our order. Only 4 tables occupied in the restaurant that night.
Although the property is a little older (I don’t mean dated), it is very clean, beautiful grounds and still nice inside the common areas and private rooms.
Lovely views on the riverside.
Close to the downtown and the train station.
We look forward to returning.

The property is getting a little older and could stand an update, but is generally clean and the building itself is quite beautiful, with a lovely view of the river. I think the parking could be free so that felt annoying, and it felt ridiculous that the refrigerator wasn't on and barely is cooling our food that we brought with us. Also not happy that the only water available is two small waters that are $3 each. We went to the Albertsons across the street and bought water. :/
So the room is decent. Beds were comfortable. Just frustrated after a long day of travel to be nickle and dimed for water. Would I stay here again? I am not sure.

Great location - walking distance from Downtown. River view from the Patio. Friendly front desk and staff. The Lounge is a little pricey and the Friday night service was a joke - didn't have the World Series on the TV. Overall, a good place to stay in Durango.

Bugs in room. Many bugs in room at one of the “nicest” hotels in Durango October 16th 2023. How is this possible? Called and hotel desk attendant told to come down when I asked to change rooms. I said come down? Cant you meet me at my room to exchange keys? She said oh yes “my manager” have me the go ahead

Had a microwave and refrigerator. Walked to train.

Mold in shower chair at the desk had the leather peeling off popcorn ceiling has holes considering the nearly $900 charge for two nights we are very disappointed I expected more class from the Hilton hotel. This place needs to be gutted and remodeled either that or you should not dare to charge people what you charge for such a shabby place.

I think parking should be free if your staying at the hotel

Not just dated but worn out.. smelled like old cigarrettes.. fridge was broken, microwave broken.. room was subpar at beat.. the only saving grace was the pool..

It’s a nice hotel, but it’s getting tired! Wallpaper peeling, worn carpet, concrete breaking up at front entrance, scratches in the beautiful woodwork, etc. There were cookies behind the counter after dinner but the staff didn’t tell us until the morning we were leaving. Surprise, after paying $322 a night, we were charged for parking in a half-empty lot when we were leaving!
